    I guess the only real question I'm left asking is, is the money there or not?

    My dad was unable to have an operation due to a weak heart, the surgeon could only try alternative non invasive procedures which unfortunately were unsuccessful. Via phone surgeon said new rules were that they must prove an economic case for all surgeries , is this the get out clause to avoid operating on the elderly? As anyone else been told this about their family members?

      Under the first past the post election system most votes are wasted. Some form of PR system would make voting Green a great vote.

    I guess they all want to pledge money that is not there, but the difference with tories is the rather cynical way they now find they can find cash and "adjust" things that they could have done in the last budget but chose not to. If the cash is not there (which appears to be what labour are spouting) , then it is not there for labour either so why does labour make huge claims of what they will do?

    One of the resons that the uk economy is in such a mess is profligate government policies. The conservatives have wasted billions on badly thought out policies, such as HS2, hospital PPE, private finance initiatives, and privatised companies. It is iniquitous that foreign shareholders in uk water companies are receiving dividends while our rivers and coastal waters are being poisoned with sewage. Capitalism works to encourage inovation and self organisatio, but it fails when private owned manopolies are allowed to form that can treat customers as cash cows. Foreign investment is generally a bad thing, as investors expect to take out more wealth than they put in, and what they take out disappears from the uk economy. This is true for all the UK public utilities and infrastructure that has been allowed to fall into the hands of foreign investors. The UK is hemorrhaging its wealth. Plug the leaks and the choice will no longer be between service cutes or higher taxation.

      IMO those policies were wilfully mishandled to line their own pockets.

    Since they don't intend to implement the promises anyway they can promise what they like. The problem is there are always suckers who believe it.

    • @RealDareel
      @RealDareel 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are literally promising nothing. It’s like a house on fire and they are promising a bucket of water to put it out and you’re ah saying they won’t keep their promise. We are totally screwed

      Are you referring to the 'no money' Labours Treasury secretary left when Labour left government? If so, do you realise that's actually an inside JOKE that each Treasury secretary leaves something along these lines for the replacement to find. Its a tradition going back to the 50s (and yes the Tories have left similar notes for Labour). Please just do a quick google search on the subject and stop believing the Tory lies.

      It was not Labour that caused austerity. It had an awful lot to do with the banking crisis, started by people like Mr Sunak crashing banks and lining their own pockets at the public's expense. The money _was_ there, but it was robbed by crooks masquerading as bankers.

      Labour will, as they always do, fix the country and bring about a golden age. I grew up under Blair, and they were the best years of my life. Keir Starmer will bring about a decade of national renewal.
