Have your LLC purchase 'the boat', hire a captain/tour staff person to do excursions which could include private wine & cheese, oyster, or Bear parties etc. Depending on what pricing modeIs you devise, the revenue from these tours or even just call them ' boat rides' would carry the costs of ownership. You will be able to have the boat mostly to yourselves during the off season! Please if you adopt my idea, I would like to have free tickets for one trip☺😘🥰
On one hand it sounds lovely, on the other hand, I'm not sure you're anticipating how much work and glitches will be involved. You can still do lots of boating without actually owning your own boat
A boat is like an RV, just a money pit. And yepper, you best be a good swimmer to boot, just in case you get too hot or want to swim with the dolphins? But I've been around, on, in both of them most of my life. Sometimes you just have to do what makes you happy until it doesn't. This should be very interesting next year.........make sure the dingy is a big shark so it looks like it's chasing you like in Jaws (when it's in tow behind) lol. 🦈
Ok people! When I met my husband-25 yrs ago-he was living on a boat at 79th st boat basin in manhattan. I was drafted into boat life. He sold that boat and then bought a 38 ft Chris craft commander. An old boat but one he brought back from the brink. When our kids were small we took a 2 week boat trip to ptown for family week. We lived on the boat and had a berth at the pier. We also won a Rosie O’Donnell cruise that time. 🍀 We sold that boat to someone in France believe it or not when the kids were in middle school. Now we are back in boat world w a 36 ft Chris craft commander. The boats are all old fiberglass boats from the 60s. So not so expensive to buy. Something like a modest car. But my husband is a gear head and his dad is a gear head. They keep the boat going. Boats are fuel hogs. $$$$ I was lobbying for a sailboat. I bet we will take a long trip this summer. If we come to ptown I’ll let you know. The cape and Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket and Long Island are great boating.
I live on a lake in western mass, i have a boat dock where my pontoon boat is in residence from May through the end of September. Even at that, and though i love it, it does not get used anywhere near enough and it is expensive to maintain. You both seem to be very busy with your Inns, would you have the time? Just something to think about....
I don’t know about the boat, but I do know I’d kill for a marriage like yours. Also, I love your out and about videos. Glad you finally got a break from the constant demands.
Rent a house boat for a year. The best day owning a boat is the day you buy it and the day you sell it - I’ve heard it said. Have no regrets. Maybe Rent first with a captain to/from FL one year. Do it.
🔆⛵....not that my thoughts matter, but maybe chartering a boat for a few weeks to cruise down to Florida stopping at all the wonderful harbors with a captain friend. This might help Cory to feel safer with someone else's boat and experience. My Aunt and Uncle had a yacht in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. They really loved it, but lots of work with so many "storm" stories!🤔💙💛❤️
When you think you don't have time to enjoy p-town remember how many minutes it took to sit on that bench and look at the water boats and wildlife and how long it takes for the rest of the world to get there. You might not have a chance very often but when you do it's all right there. 😊
I had heard of Richard's Dock, nice to know where it is. Have not been in P-town since 1976! Used to go to the Backroom and the A-house to dance back in my college days! Love you guys!
Two favorite days in a boat owners life. The day he buys the boat and the day he sells it. I would add up the yearly costs of owning the boat, including the boat costs and compare those costs to renting a boat for the number of days you think you would use the boat. You could also use the funds to take some annual fishing trips. The bottom line, though, is that if it something you really want, regardless of the cost, just do it. On your death bed, will you say, "I wish I had owned a boat?" If the answer is yes, then do it. If it doesn't work out, you can always sell it or keep it and they can send you off in it at your funeral (like they did in that movie where they send the Dad's corpse out in his rowboat on the lake and blow it up.) Love your videos and hope you are enjoying your Florida winter as I am. Of course, I do miss the snow of Upstate NY. Spring there can't come soon enough. My daffodils, peonies, and gladiolus are waiting for me!!
If you have unlimited disposable income, sure buy a boat. If you ever plan on retiring I wouldn't suggest it. I have a dock and it still wasn't worth it. I was lucky enough to get it out of my system in my 40's. Some dreams are better off just being dreams.
If your life's dream will not put you in the poor house, do it. Life is too short to drink cheap wine and go without the one thing you wanted in life...besides Cory! I bet you bought one already as it is 1/29/25. You cannot captain a boat to FL during hurricane season and the trip from P-town to where ever you are in FL is how many days long? You need a boat in FL.

Costs a lot to moor ( in water or dry)..lots of upkeep and cost of diesel....unless u use weekly might not be worth it.

Time to consult Walter! He knows all about the boat life.
I haven't even finished watching your video and all I have to say is you guys are my heroes! You are so funny and an absolute dynamite duo!!! 🎉😂
I couldn’t begin to tell you what you should do, buying a boat is a joint decision. I wish both much happiness and health. ❤️❤️❤️

Boats are ALOT OF WORK. Can you due a vlog about you guys living in Florida?
Your dreams. Your money. Your decision. I'll just be grateful if you allow us to follow along.
I feel like when we live on the Cape that it's true we don't get to enjoy it, we're working.
Team Curt. I vote he deserves a boat. ⛵
Do what makes you happy. What's the point of saving for retirement if you can't enjoy it? I know I won't be near NYC when I retire.
We know 😂
