I have good a quality sounder with all the bells and whistles….certain applications I use it and rely on it however most of the time with the fishing I do I fish with instinct, experience I’ve gained through trial and error, my surroundings like structure, bird life and what’s happening above the water ect ect…I think it’s easy to get carried away with tech and it can tend to take away the basic fun of hunting the fish and not knowing what may be lying beneath…great vid 👍
Gee that ramp looks fancy as, I used to live at tingalpa and I literally fished around there every second day. I used to always have a few cast around the bridge there, no lie I always caught big flatties between 60-90.
@@LiamFitzpatrick yeah rito, I can’t remember it been that bad but that was about 17 years ago to, i used to use the old prawnstars I knew the guy who invented them and he used to load me up in them. I’d never miss though on good flattys. Also there used to be a sand flat on the left when you come into the river, don’t know if that’s still there but it was good for a few as well. Man I miss the salt.
Hey mate not long ago like 2 weeks ago me and my mate went under the port and sight casted bream and we got 4 total for about 1 hr fishing all above 30 the biggest was 37 you can sneak under when there not looking or you go like you belong and normally your fine we where just using 2 inch swim prawn from holt you can see it in my shorts great video love the content keep up the great work
Yeah I used to fish under there back in the day but these days I stay out mate. Heaps of people do it and I know the water police have written warnings but I don’t think anyone has been fined.
First up Brisbane River certainly is a nice place to get railed hahaha but we love it!! Secondly never knew you were not good with sounders.. saw that massive thing on your boat for ages now. Really thought you were a sounder guy! Thirdly you mentioned a bass boat is a year away…… what do you mean by that? You’ve moving onto a bass boat?
Na cos my fishing was never based on tech and the species I chased growing up you never needed ya sounder to target. I’ve had a bass boat for over a decade now mate but she’s been living in the shed waiting for some love once the bass boat is sorted I’ll stick Garmin all over it and take the time to understand it better.
Yes I did mate. Took me until the third session to figure em out but I finally weighed a good bag up there. We started going back heaps after that event. Such a cool fishery. Were you there?
@@LiamFitzpatrick yeah was pissing down with rain that weekend, you look familiar, pretty sure I camped with you and your younger brother (maybe brother??) We hit it off on day one had a brief love affair and never saw or spoke to each other again 😂🤣 I think I was coming 5th after second sesh then bombed out in the last to end up at 17th. I had long hair back then, was fishing out of a little 390 hornet trophy. Apologies if I’ve got the wrong dude but I’m pretty sure it was you.
@@LiamFitzpatrick cool, yep that’s the one, the dam level came up quite high overnight, some heavy falls that weekend. I fished the dam a lot after that comp too, some of the angriest bass in the country live in that joint.
The secret truth is me and my mates were catching metre plus threads (and Jew and a big jack) sight fishing all around the CBD around light pools on surface or shallow running lures well before you guys caught on we just kept it quiet for as long as possible lol
Trying to pick up the slack line in the system mate, if you just strike and have slack line by the time you come tight ya rod will be well above ya head and you lose your ability to set hooks. I think the fish were just not committing to an eat which is why I had so many missed opportunities.

Yeah I would like to know I’m sitting on fish sometimes though cos then it’s a challenge of figuring out what they want to get them to eat.
million of vids later and the bloke still loves the sound of his own name,,,cracks me up everytime. Hey Liam Fitzpatrick. Vids are gun but brus.
Cheers brother 👊🏻

Cheers mate.
Cool video how deep is it around the first plyons near the ship? and thanks for the cool story's
Most of the areas where ships dock go from the shore to 10-20ft out to 50ft pretty quickly.

Water pumps through that bridge hey, I’ve caught bulk numbers of bream schooled up in the middle there at times.

Hey Liam, did you fish in the 01/02 ABT electric grand final at lake Lenthals?

Na that was us mate. Had to drain the water out of the boats and the tent after all that rain. Crazy you remember that.

Yeah true as, sounds like back in “05” when we were smacking big threads and you never saw another boat near ya. Good times.
why do u speed wind to set hooks, it’s clearly not rlly working
