Lets not just jump into conclusions, when Tencell does something, he doesnt just think of Rash reason, he looks at previous years, see the complaints and harshships from both the game and player base and judges from there what hes gonna do next. Its logical to delay the update so that the event is active during the actual Holiday. And yes previous years people have complsined about the requirements, but you also have to think, so many more gloves are added and still gotta make it possible for new players to enjoy the game as well. Its not always about the pros of the game, but also Newcomers

Man, for the past two years it just felt like tencell is trying to kill slap battles on purpose. For me the main reason I started playing it is because it was fun and silly in a meme way, back in 2021-2022 he was adding alot of meme gloves and meme things, but now hes trying to make slap battles into its own thing which just ruined the whole meme thing, and in addition he removed most of the meme things from the game. Also another charm slap battles had was its low quality, it was just giving a unique vibe. But now because of all things becoming higher quality it now feels like some cashgrab simulator.

I saw a suggestion in the SBDC saying to just put a portal for the Halloween event so it doesn’t have to lower the amount of new players joining slap battles. This would be a good idea but then you also can’t server hop to get good candy corn grinding servers.
I can understand that Tencell wants to keep the game alive, and a 2 week event makes sense, but it doesn't matter if the event is during Halloween day or not. An event during October is still a Halloween event. Starting the event when players expected it to be started would have been a way better move than delaying it to later when many other games also start Halloween events.
We didn't even got an announcement so i cant blame Ten for that. But he could announce the time of release of Halloween update so people wont get mad. Honestly update's release date is going to make game even more dead bc most of people is going to have a exam week and shit. Thats kind of a HUGE mistake honestly. They could relase update at Friday and give the event 40 days like we did before.

I think Ten's decision was kinda necessary, he just didn't want his game to die, which means he cares about it. Idk why a bunch of people are saying that he's greedy and money hungry, cause that's not even true. It is pretty sad to see events are only gonna last 2 weeks, and they're starting a bit later than usual, and the new glove is disappointing, but that doesn't mean Ten deserves all the hate he's getting right now, it's not fair to him. He still cares about his game, cause if he didn't he wouldn't update it every single week.

personally i dont think its gonna help the game that much cause he's saying that in discord and most new player in slap battles doesnt even have discord or joined his discord, plus he reduced the halloween and christmas to 2 weeks if he cared that much about new players he would released it early and not a 2 week "delay" and plus atleast when the christmas update from 2023 got moved to another week there was atleast Jerry to keep us company saying christmas update is near but halloween for this halloween did he do something? no, so personally i was mad but i understand why he chose to move the update further but as i said 2 weeks for 4 halloween gloves for new players it doesnt really make sense, and what about other players who play other halloween games like ill take me as an example im a huge mm2 player fan same with slap battles but this year i want a trophy in mm2 and him making it 2 weeks further makes it that either i dont get the trophy or i dont get the glove, i want both but i dont even know when mm2 update release and if i miss 1 day trying to get the glove that potentially may cost my downfall for a trophy so im not really happy with how tencelll decided the move it but i understand why. he wants new player to get it but at the same time they arent brain dead they know its october and october=spooky season so i understand the intuition of what he wants to do but i dont understand why he thinks new players wont know whats happening but they obviously will wonder why there isnt an halloween update in this game so it doesnt really makes sense for me wont new player be more confused on why there isnt an halloween update? tell me your opinion, i wanna know what yall think about it

I agree with all that, i at least think they should make the event 3 weeks so people can enjoy it for longer and have an easier time getting the gloves. 2 weeks just isn’t enough time imo
My suggestion is tencell should Atleast release Halloween update next week at Friday 11th and he should put the guide system for new players who are basically joining so then they can know what they basically do this new ui should prevent new players from leaving to cause the game to unusually die
1. Every other games are also doing Halloween events and I don’t really see any problems for new players (probably hallow jack and rattlebones spam) but it’s normal to have an event like this so idk why (update won’t be in 11th too) 2. Barrel sucked a lot, it’s literally its third most expensive glove in the game (based on slap) and it was so bad dude 😭😭
I honestly couldn't care less. I also don't like the event lasting only 2 weeks, but if it's lasting just as long either way then delays don't really matter in my mind

Man i miss 2022 halloween. Back when tencell actually cared for his players and added meme gloves to fit the game. But hes starting to make the game more cashgrab by nerfing shards and making badge gloves that require you to stay in the game linger like brick master and fish. Hes caring more abt the new players more than his actual fans. He didn’t add it because nee players will leave? DUH new players will leave. When i started sb for the first time in 2021 christmas I left and then when i joined back again it was normal season. I honestly don’t know why tencell expects new players to sit on their device and play a game they’ve never played before for 5 hours and not leave. And due to tencells actions i started moving onto sb but bad and other fangames. Sb but bad actually makes good updates, and their requirements for gloves aren’t really that hard. For example, ten will make a literal basic glove and make it so that you have to kill 5B people in one life just to jump higher, and thats the problem. While sbbb ,slap battles but bad) actually doesn’t make you waste 50 hours of your life for a basic glove. And honestly in my opinion sbbb is more balanced and isn’t cashgrab like sb. Yeah, the game is dying because of tencell’s poor decisions that make OG/dedicated players want to quit the game. He keeps making tedious badge obtainments for a mid glove (trap is a good example of this) and he lowered the null shard reward from tournaments, making a very long and boring grind if you want some cool slap effects, almost encouraging you to pay for null shards if you want slap effects. I’ve already started to quit SB since the guide update, and that update had everything that made me want to quit. Also, since people are gonna reply to me that “slap effects are just cosmetics, there’s no need to grind or pay for them” I’ll just say that cosmetics in video games are a very rewarding and nice thing to have, and sometimes people judge you off them
@toejammergaming Tencell really needs to change Brickmaster badge obtainable, it's almost impossible for new players to get trap, only some players are able to get it in just small public server, but some players would just join in randomly and try to ruin Brick streak just for fun or something, honestly other players thinks it's good.
I honestly like that the badges are hard to get because the game wouldn't be fun if you could easily get all the gloves and i don't really care if its mid because the fun part for me is the challenge but thats just my opinion

The whole reason the event is going to be only two weeks makes no sense, if Tencell really did care about new players he wouldn’t make extremely hard badges with unforgiving consequences for messing up, and new players should expect a Halloween event for a popular game during October, and if they don’t it’s their fault. It most definitely feels like Tencell cares more about the performance for the game rather than how the fans feel about where it’s going. If he adds more tedious badges like the 1000 candy corn thing for Halloween and the rare chances for mitten/snowball during the Christmas event, then they are going to be nigh unobtainable and just make the whole thing not fun. It’s not a huge deal, but I just hope whatever is going to happen will be okay.

The problem is that there are hackers who can take the camby but cannot collect it easily, and this is annoying. There is no way to get candy, such as daily challenges like Christmas.

I am hoping to get Hallow-Jack and Rattlebones gloves this Halloween update without having trouble. I know there will be exploiters/hackers ruining the game for everyone. The obtainment for Hallow and Rattlebones are just collect candy corns, and I prob bet you won't be able to collect them in private servers. I know Ten will make us suffer from only making one player to be able to grab it and a lot of candy corns won't spawn. This causes you to play the game more and more that I don't have time for

The event being 2-3 weeks less is crazy, I just casually saw this as "kids being mad because update isnt done yet and are asking devs to overwork", but now, see rhat its literally just stupidity?? I don't think tenbraincells made a good decision cuz the OG players were waiting for Halloween just to be delayed for the "new players" who most likely won't even play slap battles ever again, he treats the OG players like crap and just wants money. This is another greedy decision just like how he lowered the null shards price in the tournaments from 30 to 8 and people spent a crap ton of robux just to get portal/energised. If you are going to tell us its getting delayed at least tell us like a week before hand not a day before Halloween when everyone is expecting it to drop the next day 💀

Hi sizzle, I want to play slap battles since I wanted Halloween gloves but I got banned, the reason was just hashtags too! I only needed Deto, spy, Halloween and christmas gloves, I appealed so it was just 2 weeks, So I waited and I joined again, but I was still P banned, even after I appealed for a 2nd time. This moderation is unfair ☹ What can I do?

If tencell REALLY wants to add a better player retention, make things better for lower lvl players (lvl means slaps) like adding better gloves for lower costing slaps, cause idk of you've noticed but all the gloves like under 5000 slaps are either boring as shit to use to the player, and very annoying for other players tp go against, nothing is more annoying then getting pushed by a wall, slowed to a crawl by a snow pr god forbid poisoned by plague or touched by a reaper, all these gloves are under 5k aka, what the newer players will use, simply make this better or add cooler looking gloves for lower lvl users and there, you've got better user retention.
Haloween is the most fun i ever have in slap battles, every haloween update, with the skybox, music and the map and may i say, yes i am a bit upset its in 2 weeks, but i see both sides i guess, had to pick what side

honestly im siding with tencell here, mainly because y'know you make games to make money in the first place and if you release an update and it doesn't perform well you 1. don't get as much money 2. you having less money could possibly lead to budget cuts for next updates 3. budget cuts meaning updates not being as high quality

Im not one to get mad when developers do something or remove something from games, but this is just annoying. While i wont lie and say the game didn't do poorly during the event i can't understand how much the game loosing retention for 1 month can hurt it so much especially when during this time of year people are celebrating different holidays and people are going back to school and work meaning that less and less people can play. I have all the halloween gloves so i don't need any of them, but what i like about the events is that during the months they are in the game feels different which is something i like, ive gotta say looking at the same green grass and the same music for 10 months of the year gets annoying which is why it is so nice to see The map change that the music changing too. Like many people have said before it feels like Tencell is has stopped caring for the people that acctually play this game a lot instead it just feels like he is greedy and wants money. I just find this stupid because why should we that play the game like every day get punished because some new players get confused during the event. Another thing i feel not many people talk about are the updates that released during october last year lets just say while the updates weren't bad there was nothing really exciting with them. First the game updates with the halloween map comming back and a few balance changes, Necromancer is also released and people find the glove really cool and interesting to use and see. Then people wanna try to get it but how do you get it? Well you gotta do exact same thing you did last halloween but again. I can see how this wouldn't really wanna make people play the event when the only new thing was just more of the same for last year. Then the update after we get dual, the most boring glove to ever exist. Though the glove may have been boring and bad the update also came with a lot of balance changes and bug fixes. The bug fixes were mostly for the slap tournament which i know not many people played at that time. The balance changes while nice weren't nothing special, except for quake and spectator. Quake was so bad before that not many people bothered to get you also need to get berserk before you could even attempt getting quake. And spectator is a gamepass and one of the least bought gamepass gloves. Meaning not many people had it. This means that the update didn't really have anything to excite people. After that they release alchemist a very cool glove where the community has to go to together to find all the potions, but the devs messed it up by making the obtainment for the glove almost impossible unless you had a bunch of friends or a bunch of alt accounts. The update also only had this glove with it's hard obtainment. The glove was also really buggy on release and they had to realease an update a few days after to fix the bugs. Then parry got released and this glove didn't really have anything special with it, it had a dash but so did psycho it could do a counterattack on players if they hit you at the wrong moment, like reverse, counter, and jebaited. Meaning this glove just felt like a combination of gloves we already had. That was the updates being released, 2 cool badge gloves but with terrible obtainments, and to slap gloves which felt boring and recycled. The weirdest thing to me however is that if tencell knew the halloween event did so bad why would he not make it shorter last year. The only thing i can think of is that it didn't do so bad in 2022 meaning that tencell felt ok with making it last the whole mounth in 2023. There is really only 1 thing that was different in the 2 years. The updates. Im not gonna go into depth on the updates for 2022, but they were better. Another thing is that at the start of the halloween event in 2023 there were over 30k people playing in the event but for some reason that number quickly fell. Ive also looked at some youtube videos to see if the halloween event really got that much hate, and no it did not. Bilify's videos on alchemist reached over 200k views and his necromancer and dual video reached 100k views. Granted these videos are almost a year old, but stands show that people cared for the event there just wasn't a reason for them to play it. I just hate how Tencell is so focused on getting new players when it's the players that keep on playing that are the reason the game is as loved as it is. If some admin or someone with contact to tencell or the devs were to see this i just wanna say that, let the people that keep comming back to the game get something in return. I still love this game and i wish the best for it, but making the events shorter for no other reason than "We got less new players during the event" is just stupid. Like the game died during the halloween event last year but what happened the summer of this year the game reached it peak current players meaning that the game losing retention during the events doesn't really matter at all. TLDR: I hate that tencell did this and his reason doesn't make sense to me. People do love the events and shortening them is just annoying. If anything is unclear feel free to ask about it.

For me the main reason I started playing it is because it was fun and silly in a meme way, back in 2021-2022 he was adding alot of meme gloves and meme things, but now hes trying to make slap battles into its own thing which just ruined the whole meme thing, and in addition he removed most of the meme things from the game.
Also another charm slap battles had was its low quality, it was just giving a unique vibe. But now because of all things becoming higher quality it now feels like some cashgrab simulator.

I saw a suggestion in the SBDC saying to just put a portal for the Halloween event so it doesn’t have to lower the amount of new players joining slap battles. This would be a good idea but then you also can’t server hop to get good candy corn grinding servers.

I can understand that Tencell wants to keep the game alive, and a 2 week event makes sense, but it doesn't matter if the event is during Halloween day or not. An event during October is still a Halloween event. Starting the event when players expected it to be started would have been a way better move than delaying it to later when many other games also start Halloween events.
We didn't even got an announcement so i cant blame Ten for that. But he could announce the time of release of Halloween update so people wont get mad. Honestly update's release date is going to make game even more dead bc most of people is going to have a exam week and shit. Thats kind of a HUGE mistake honestly. They could relase update at Friday and give the event 40 days like we did before.

Honestly i agree with tencell, It'd make zero sense if it was a week or 2 before halloween/Christmas.
1. Every other games are also doing Halloween events and I don’t really see any problems for new players (probably hallow jack and rattlebones spam) but it’s normal to have an event like this so idk why (update won’t be in 11th too)

DUH new players will leave. When i started sb for the first time in 2021 christmas I left and then when i joined back again it was normal season. I honestly don’t know why tencell expects new players to sit on their device and play a game they’ve never played before for 5 hours and not leave. And due to tencells actions i started moving onto sb but bad and other fangames. Sb but bad actually makes good updates, and their requirements for gloves aren’t really that hard. For example, ten will make a literal basic glove and make it so that you have to kill 5B people in one life just to jump higher, and thats the problem. While sbbb ,slap battles but bad) actually doesn’t make you waste 50 hours of your life for a basic glove. And honestly in my opinion sbbb is more balanced and isn’t cashgrab like sb. Overkill is like 7 robux with almost not much counters but for overkill in sb costs 700 ROBUX THAT HAS LIKE 8 DIFFERENT COUNTERS. I just want tencell to return back to the good days when he made good updates, and back then he actually listened to his fans gloves ideas but now he just look at smth in his basement and add it as a glove. 2025 for slap battles may be worse.
Yeah, the game is dying because of tencell’s poor decisions that make OG/dedicated players want to quit the game. He keeps making tedious badge obtainments for a mid glove (trap is a good example of this) and he lowered the null shard reward from tournaments, making a very long and boring grind if you want some cool slap effects, almost encouraging you to pay for null shards if you want slap effects. I’ve already started to quit SB since the guide update, and that update had everything that made me want to quit.
Also, since people are gonna reply to me that “slap effects are just cosmetics, there’s no need to grind or pay for them” I’ll just say that cosmetics in video games are a very rewarding and nice thing to have, and sometimes people judge you off them

I honestly like that the badges are hard to get because the game wouldn't be fun if you could easily get all the gloves and i don't really care if its mid because the fun part for me is the challenge but thats just my opinion

The whole reason the event is going to be only two weeks makes no sense, if Tencell really did care about new players he wouldn’t make extremely hard badges with unforgiving consequences for messing up, and new players should expect a Halloween event for a popular game during October, and if they don’t it’s their fault. It most definitely feels like Tencell cares more about the performance for the game rather than how the fans feel about where it’s going. If he adds more tedious badges like the 1000 candy corn thing for Halloween and the rare chances for mitten/snowball during the Christmas event, then they are going to be nigh unobtainable and just make the whole thing not fun. It’s not a huge deal, but I just hope whatever is going to happen will be okay.

I don't think tenbraincells made a good decision cuz the OG players were waiting for Halloween just to be delayed for the "new players" who most likely won't even play slap battles ever again, he treats the OG players like crap and just wants money. This is another greedy decision just like how he lowered the null shards price in the tournaments from 30 to 8 and people spent a crap ton of robux just to get portal/energised. If you are going to tell us its getting delayed at least tell us like a week before hand not a day before Halloween when everyone is expecting it to drop the next day 💀

Hi sizzle, I want to play slap battles since I wanted Halloween gloves but I got banned, the reason was just hashtags too! I only needed Deto, spy, Halloween and christmas gloves, I appealed so it was just 2 weeks, So I waited and I joined again, but I was still P banned, even after I appealed for a 2nd time. This moderation is unfair ☹ What can I do?

If tencell REALLY wants to add a better player retention, make things better for lower lvl players (lvl means slaps) like adding better gloves for lower costing slaps, cause idk of you've noticed but all the gloves like under 5000 slaps are either boring as shit to use to the player, and very annoying for other players tp go against, nothing is more annoying then getting pushed by a wall, slowed to a crawl by a snow pr god forbid poisoned by plague or touched by a reaper, all these gloves are under 5k aka, what the newer players will use, simply make this better or add cooler looking gloves for lower lvl users and there, you've got better user retention.

anyone who says "how am i meant to grind 2k candies in 2 weeks" just dont play the game then if you dont want to devote yourself to getting those candies. only people who genuinely enjoy the game and are willing to play will grind them

As much as I hate a 2 week event, after I get the glove it’s kinda boring, the same soundtrack playing over over and over again and so many people using speedrun

Im not one to get mad when developers do something or remove something from games, but this is just annoying. While i wont lie and say the game didn't do poorly during the event i can't understand how much the game loosing retention for 1 month can hurt it so much especially when during this time of year people are celebrating different holidays and people are going back to school and work meaning that less and less people can play.
I have all the halloween gloves so i don't need any of them, but what i like about the events is that during the months they are in the game feels different which is something i like, ive gotta say looking at the same green grass and the same music for 10 months of the year gets annoying which is why it is so nice to see The map change that the music changing too.
Like many people have said before it feels like Tencell is has stopped caring for the people that acctually play this game a lot instead it just feels like he is greedy and wants money. I just find this stupid because why should we that play the game like every day get punished because some new players get confused during the event.
Another thing i feel not many people talk about are the updates that released during october last year lets just say while the updates weren't bad there was nothing really exciting with them.
First the game updates with the halloween map comming back and a few balance changes, Necromancer is also released and people find the glove really cool and interesting to use and see. Then people wanna try to get it but how do you get it? Well you gotta do exact same thing you did last halloween but again. I can see how this wouldn't really wanna make people play the event when the only new thing was just more of the same for last year.
Then the update after we get dual, the most boring glove to ever exist. Though the glove may have been boring and bad the update also came with a lot of balance changes and bug fixes. The bug fixes were mostly for the slap tournament which i know not many people played at that time. The balance changes while nice weren't nothing special, except for quake and spectator. Quake was so bad before that not many people bothered to get you also need to get berserk before you could even attempt getting quake. And spectator is a gamepass and one of the least bought gamepass gloves. Meaning not many people had it. This means that the update didn't really have anything to excite people.
After that they release alchemist a very cool glove where the community has to go to together to find all the potions, but the devs messed it up by making the obtainment for the glove almost impossible unless you had a bunch of friends or a bunch of alt accounts. The update also only had this glove with it's hard obtainment. The glove was also really buggy on release and they had to realease an update a few days after to fix the bugs.
Then parry got released and this glove didn't really have anything special with it, it had a dash but so did psycho it could do a counterattack on players if they hit you at the wrong moment, like reverse, counter, and jebaited. Meaning this glove just felt like a combination of gloves we already had.
That was the updates being released, 2 cool badge gloves but with terrible obtainments, and to slap gloves which felt boring and recycled.
The weirdest thing to me however is that if tencell knew the halloween event did so bad why would he not make it shorter last year. The only thing i can think of is that it didn't do so bad in 2022 meaning that tencell felt ok with making it last the whole mounth in 2023. There is really only 1 thing that was different in the 2 years. The updates. Im not gonna go into depth on the updates for 2022, but they were better.
Another thing is that at the start of the halloween event in 2023 there were over 30k people playing in the event but for some reason that number quickly fell.
Ive also looked at some youtube videos to see if the halloween event really got that much hate, and no it did not. Bilify's videos on alchemist reached over 200k views and his necromancer and dual video reached 100k views. Granted these videos are almost a year old, but stands show that people cared for the event there just wasn't a reason for them to play it.
I just hate how Tencell is so focused on getting new players when it's the players that keep on playing that are the reason the game is as loved as it is. If some admin or someone with contact to tencell or the devs were to see this i just wanna say that, let the people that keep comming back to the game get something in return.
I still love this game and i wish the best for it, but making the events shorter for no other reason than "We got less new players during the event" is just stupid. Like the game died during the halloween event last year but what happened the summer of this year the game reached it peak current players meaning that the game losing retention during the events doesn't really matter at all.
TLDR: I hate that tencell did this and his reason doesn't make sense to me. People do love the events and shortening them is just annoying.
