Britain's PM David Cameron has exclusively told BBC News that he won't seek a third term in office, if he wins the General Election in few weeks time. However, he said that he would serve a full second term, if he's re-elected in May.

Desperate attempts to make him look like a man of the people.
In this day and age I think we can all see through it. He's still human though and whether I agree with his and his party's policies or not he's well qualified for the position he currently holds.
It turns out £30k a year schools really do conveyor-belt highly skilled individuals. If only that could be replicated ubiquitously in our public schools as well.
He'd be better off selling himself as a man for the people, rather than trying to down play himself all the time with some fairly cringe worthy comments, trying to sell himself as being of the people, just Dave.
That said this third term 'announcement' could actually work in his favour. If he wins and he has a fantastic term he could still potentially stay on, if not then he can leave gracefully, should the country not literally fall through the floor of course.
Again though, it's an extremely risky statement, and without doubt is a part of a strategy. Many may see it as the words of someone not entirely enthralled with the job and its responsibilities. Other parties will be able to jump on this, showing it as a sign of non-commitment.
Cameron, Obama and possibly abbott are seriously the weakest leaders I've seen so far in terms of military affairs. The situation in Iraq with isis committing mass atrocities far worse than Saddam Hussein, this should have been a perfect excuse to send ground forces to fight alongside the Iraqi army and the Kurds etc to send them out of Iraq. This shouldn't be for a political reason, but for the sake of humanity and peace and security in the region.

He probably thought this was a good move, but it wasn't. Whenever you announce your resignation, everyone speculates on the down low. Cameron was out within just over a year, and I don't doubt this fed into it.

Damn straight, he should never have tied himself to one side or another in the brexit referendum, he should have done a 'queen' stayed completely impartial, kept his views to himself and got on with running the country instead of getting drawn into the distractions of the brexit campaign. He could easily have served a full 5 year term (which due to covid would probably have been extended to 7 years with an election now in 2022)
