Apoi don’t even speak standard Yoruba. I am an Ilaje man so I’m very familiar with Apoi people. There dialect has influence from Bini, Yoruba, and Ijaw. Also, the Ijaw Diaspora Association identify Apoi as a Ijaw clan. Apoi people know where they originate from , which is Bayelsa. On the flip side, Arogbo clan in Ondo speak undiluted Ijaw.

I agree with u in all but den, "Is there any standard Yoruba" ? There r many dialects, just lik Ijaw. There's no standard Ijaw.

@@ayebatarijuliapaxagiri2767 Yes, standard yoruba is the oyo dialect. It was made the standard dialect by Samuel Johnson in the 1800s. If an Apoi man enters Oyo and speaks his local dialect they will not understand him well -- if at all.
