  • Last Year, I had Transtibial Amputation surgery (..also known as ‘Below Knee’ Amputation), and it saved my life!.. I have Spinabifida, among countless other things, and a pressure sore/ulcer resulted in me having an open wound on the heal of my left foot.. For 10 LONG years!..
Toward the end, I’d gotten ‘another’ infection, but my body had just become too weak for treatment to fight it!  After weeks and weeks in hospital, It soon spread into my bones (..Osteomyelitis), and I just knew right then, that I either had to either lose my leg, or else lose my life.. There was no decision to be made, and most certainly, inevitably, no choice over any of it..
Just 3 weeks later and I woke up minus my left leg, minus my wound, minus my infection; but both breathing and ALIVE!.. and since then, my life has understandably changed forever because of it; just not so much in a ‘bad’ way like most wound presume! ;)
Having amputation surgery and going through rehab, have been one of the most Incredible experiences of my whole entire life, and my journey since, has been nothing less than breath taking!.. It’s like reading someone else’s story in a book, or watching it on television; except I’M the main character, and this whole experience is happening right in front of me!.. as well as both to me, and for me, and so?!.. I’m sharing it!.. Don’t ever be afraid to change, you may lose something good, but you will gain something better!
