This is basically Hyunjin dismantling his “prince” title. Since he has a pretty face, others often disregard his hard work and talent. Throughout the video, we barely ever see his full face, and when we do it’s always obscured by the shadows or his hair, or it’s a reflection in the mirror. At the beginning he started with this “princely” getup, then we see him throwing his cape away, and his shirt buttons come loose. Bit by bit, he unravels that “prince” persona and forces you to see him only as Hyunjin. He forces you to disregard the beauty of his face and instead focus on the beauty of his performance and artistic intent. He truly is one of a kind.
His when the party's over choreo is reflective of the covid-era feelings of loneliness and insecurity that come from being unable to perform in front of fans. This also coincided with the longest break between new albums Stray Kids had had since debut at that point (plus their tour being cancelled), and Hyunjin even worried fans would forget about them during this period. With Play With Fire, I see the part where he's on the floor as a very purposeful acknowledgement of his sex appeal. Since debut he's seemed to have some discomfort over his position as the visual of the group, and this discomfort didn't really fade until 2020. So I see this as him taking ownership of that part of himself - yes, he _is_ sexy, and he'll use that as a tool to express himself and his art.
I discovered Hyunjin recently and was mind blown that he choreographed both himself. I don't think that reactor knows that important point... cause she repeated multiple times "they play with his androgyny... or "they" should give him larger movements.." Dance is form of self expression and imho for someone who did his own choreography at this young age (WPO 20 y.o.) as first try in contemporary dance without long years of experience is so impressive.... he is something else PWF he's only 21 y.o. And he's dancing to freaking effects, he way he expresses himself and the way this man feels the dynamics of the music and choreographed to every single detail is ART. I really enjoy his own choreographies, and I can see how he consistently expanding. Cause his first attempt and how he dances now is impressive too.
I cannot believe that he had 0 skills and he became this amazing dancer, performer and choreographer. I'm so proud of my kid!!! We should keep looking forward to his performances because he never disappoints. Thanks for reacting!!!
Was waiting for this!!! Loved her reaction, she says it like it is and does not pander to anything or anyone. When she said, "they play into his androgyny".. I wanted someone tell her that he choreographed it himself...so it was hyunjin himself who was playing into his angrogyny! He has said before that he likes to keep his movements fluid (feminine) but at the same time powerful (masculine). I don't know if she realized that both songs were choreographed by Hyunjin and I wish that had been communicated to her so that she could talk about that aspect of the dance too - her thoughts on the choreography and what the movements spoke about his thought processes. Thanks for uploading this. Please show her some more stray kids dances to react to.
Not only he choreographed these two choreos himself, he also somewhat directed the play with fire video, play with fire was so meaningful to both him and us, stays. He also said that he sent a dance practice video (filmed the way he wanted it to) to the director so that the result can look like this. I hope she knows that these two choreos are made by himself.
omg was she talking about jb and yugyeom from got7? because wow, that'd be one good collab. i can't even begin to imagine the different textures and personalities they'll bring to a joint performance.
She's so straight foward and direct about what she likes and dislikes, love it! She gives balanced feedback. I'd love to see her react to Ten and Winwin's collab.
As a dancer myself I think he is the best dancer in 4th gen. He can pull off any kind of choreography, can make choreographies, professional dancers praise him a lot too. His fandom should praise him more bc he is a rare kind of a dancer.
Again! She reacts like she's actually prepared and ready to take on these artists as her own protegees! I love it! Would love to see her react to some of Taemin's dance practices, like Want and Famous. His stage outfits often make his movements hard to read, but in dance practices you can see how sharp and controlled he is. I think she's really enjoy it! Oh! I'd _really_ love to get her take on Taemin's Sayonara Hitori dance practice! He's dancing contemporary there, which is definitely not his usual wheelhouse.
Loved the reaction and the input so much and thank you for reacting to this. Hope she knows both of these are choreographed by Hyunjin himself and watching her give her opinion on it makes me feel really proud. Thank you once again🤍
I HOPE SHE KNOWS THAT OUR HYUNJIN IS ONE WHO CHOREOGRAPHED HIS DANCE AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE! THAT TOO WHEN HE WAS IN HIS HIATUS AND WAS HAVING A VERY TOUGH TIME!! STILL HE DIDN'T GIVE UP AND PRESENTED SUCH AN ESTATIC AND INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE..! AND ONE MORE IMP THING IS THAT THE CONCEPT HE WANTS TO CONVEY IS " DON'T SEE MY FACE , RATHER SEE MY DANCING" !! PLEASE REACT TO MORE N MORE STRAYKIDS PERFORMANCES!! WAITING FOR MORE STRAYKIDS REACTION!!
Love when androgyny is shown in such expressive dances. That's why I thought of TaeMin and how magical it would be if they'd collaborate some day. Like when Ten and WinWin did on a performance. Dancing suits HyunJin very well
I really love her reactions she is so meticulous with her critiques so when she points out the good aspects it gives it more cred if you get what I mean. Also, starting to sense she is low-key Got7/JayB bias and I appreciate that.😆
so proud of him! he choreographed both on his own! play with fire was (after his appearance in mixtape: oh) his main comeback after being on hiatus most of 2021. hyunjin releasing it + being artist of the month not too long after is a huge achievement for him and stays. he once said he wants to be known for his dance skills not just his looks because we all know he's so attractive and unbelievably beautiful. on top of that he's passionate about what he does and works very hard to show the world what he's capable of. you can see the mix of emotions during play with fire as he and stays were so happy to see him back after what felt like forever
Love love love her reactions! Please show her “wolf” by mayfly during kingdom. Members from btob, ateez, and stray kids danced together to perform this song. Most of them being the main dancers from each group.
I absolutely love her reactions. She’s doesn’t hold back and tells it like it is. It’s okay to not like something and critique it as well. It’s really all about growth tbh.
Would love to see her react to stray kids dance practice such as Double Knot or District 9. Not a dancer but for me those two songs moves are pretty on the masculine side
Has anyone mentioned Hyunjin and Chan's "Red Lights" yet? It is a duet, after all, and I don't think I've seen a reaction to it from this commenter. Probably less than 30% of it is actual dance, but what dancing there is is mostly clear with limited camera interference. There are two reasons I think she might be interested in it: 1) even in the non-dance poses, we see a lot of Hyunjin's long lines, and all the dance parts make use of bigger movements with long lines, from both dancers, and 2) it really plays with ambiguity on several levels--androgyny, sexuality, controlled/controller, even what is the real subject of the lyrics (obsession--but with what--aside from the obvious?). What I find interesting about it, dance-wise, are the gorgeous shapes they make and the timing to the music, which don't seem to be things she comments on a lot. She seems more interested in dance technique than how the choreography and piece all hang together. But I'd be interested in her reaction.
I think the performance she wants to see between jb and hyunjin or yugyeom and hyunjin can be seen in redlights with chan and hyunjin. Id love to see her react to it
Unlike Lee Know, Hyunjin was not a professional dancer at the time of filming and had been dancing for only four years. And his specialisation is not classical dance, but k-pop dance.
Plus play with fire came out after stray kids won kingdom which he couldn’t join so it showed everyone what he was doing while on break while tying into that kingdom theme
I love her analysis, I really wish she would react to Ateez' Wooyoung Artist of the Month now. I'm curious what would be her take on him as a dancer. Thanks for the reaction.
To add to this comment the Ten and Winwins dance cover for the rainbow V project would be a great one for her to react too. It would be interesting because Winwin is trained in classical Chinese dance, ans Ten isn't trained in classical as far as I'm aware. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
if it's not too much, I would love it if she reacted to ten and winwin's performance of lovely that they choreographed! it's one of my favorite dance performances to this day.
IF SHE WOULD HAVE KNOWN HYUNJIN WAS THE ONE WHO CHOREOGRAPHED HIS OWN PERFORMANCE AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE AND THAT TOO IN THAT TIME WHEN HE WAS HAVING SUCH A HARD TIME , THEN SHE MIGHT HAVE UNDERSTAND THAT WHY THESE ARE LEGENDARY!
it’s interesting to see hyunjin characterized as androgynous - perhaps it’s the cultural difference. I never viewed him as androgynous. I wonder if there’s a connection to how asian men aren’t seen as “manly” in western society. Unless the androgyny referenced in this video is just about the type of dance movements - not a dance expert so I can’t speak to that. Appreciate the breakdown/reaction!
Yeah I think for new western eyes, the difference in masculinity usually means they see it as more androgynous whereas for me I’ve now seen such different representations of what’s masculine that I don’t see that for Hyunjin either. He’s very pretty but still masculine.
I do not recommend him dancing with anyone because he has this “HyunJin Magic”: His dance presence makes other dancers disappear. Your eyes will only follow him.

reacts to BLACKPINK's dance practices, they are the most viewed dance choreographies in history, 8 of the 10 most viewed choreographies on youtube are from BLACKPINK.

omg this reminds me of a reddit post i saw on twitter when it came out! thank you for reminding me about it even if you didn't mean to!
i hope she knows he choreographed both of these dance performances bc i really do think thats very commendable of him and really shows his artistry
Yes I was also waiting for them to read that he choreographed it XD
SAME !! Seems like they DO NOT KNOW 😭
I hope so too...I just think wow, this is coming from a guy who used to hate dancing! He really is amazing though.
His when the party's over choreo is reflective of the covid-era feelings of loneliness and insecurity that come from being unable to perform in front of fans. 12 months later and she's still an opinionated bitch....
He didn't train for many years . He probably started having interest in dancing when he was like 17-18 yrs so yeah he has so much potential
Not only he choreographed these two choreos himself, he also somewhat directed the play with fire video, play with fire was so meaningful to both him and us, stays. The way Hyunjin is the most successful GOT7 fanboy I would really love to see him getting a chance to dance with Jinyoung or JayB.
She's so straight foward and direct about what she likes and dislikes, love it! She gives balanced feedback. I'd love to see her react to Ten and Winwin's collab.
Parece que no disfruto la coreografía de Winwin y ten
Loved this so much I can definitely tell she enjoyed watching these. Thank you both for this reaction video BLESS🖤
It troubles me everytime someone doesn't notice the 'choreographed by Hyunjin'
Edit: IT HURTS MY SOUL
As a dancer myself I think he is the best dancer in 4th gen. He can pull off any kind of choreography, can make choreographies, professional dancers praise him a lot too. His fandom should praise him more bc he is a rare kind of a dancer.
Have her to EVERYTHING I love her
HYUNJIN IS LITERALLY A ART HE MADE THESE ART CHOREOGRAPHY HE EVEN MAKE ART IN REAL LIFE

*most serious expression ever*
Loved the reaction and the input so much and thank you for reacting to this. Hope she knows both of these are choreographed by Hyunjin himself and watching her give her opinion on it makes me feel really proud. Thank you once again🤍
He didn't start practicing dance before he was like 18 yrs or something. He was street casted and he trained for 2 yrs before he debuted in the group.
I loved her reaction. Thank you for showing her this. He worked so hard on both of these dances
Loved your reaction! Thank you for reacting :)
I HOPE SHE KNOWS THAT OUR HYUNJIN IS ONE WHO CHOREOGRAPHED HIS DANCE AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE! THAT TOO WHEN HE WAS IN HIS HIATUS AND WAS HAVING A VERY TOUGH TIME!!

Love me some Got7 and JB
Please introduce our new teacher to Ten and Kai. I live for her straight no chaser comments without hints of bias. She just calls it as it is.
I think she did react to Kai's dance performance for Mmmh. Would love to see her react to Kai Peaches dance performance.
So relatable watching her scroll through those comments in between videos. The fans are the best source of information. 😂

Very beautiful dances 👏👏👏
i love her
She called out my favorite GOT7 members!!!! I do love watching Yugeom and Jay B dancing.
She definitely needs to react to Rocky! I would love to see her opinion on his dancing!
I’d love to see a reaction to one of the special stage dances he was part of …of course The 00s liners Psycho is the most epic
It would be nice if she reacted to the Back Door dance practice

You NEED to show her Ten and Winwins dancing to Lovely by Billie Eilish. I would love to see her reaction.
I showed her before ages ago but just once. Will film it next time
Hope she knows he choreographed these two dances himself!
Just to let you guys know, Hyunjin choreographed these two videos compared to his AOTM :)
You should show people Lovely by Ten and Winwin, we cannot forget about that masterpiece
Hyunjin is one of the best dancer in k pop
There's collaboration dance in MAMA 2020 but there's not with JB, the collaboration with other 4th gen group that'll compete in Kingdom too.
I think it would be really good if she react to Domino dance practice by stray kids
Hope u told her he choose the songs and made choreographies but dance and the company or his group.
Unlike Lee Know, Hyunjin was not a professional dancer at the time of filming and had been dancing for only four years. And his specialisation is not classical dance, but k-pop dance.
I'd love to see her reaction to Ten and winwin but also Tens other dances (Taki Taki, Devils, Hit The stage stuff)
💯💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥
OMG u should show her a compilation of Jimin’s contemporary dancing
Plus play with fire came out after stray kids won kingdom which he couldn’t join so it showed everyone what he was doing while on break while tying into that kingdom theme
Based on the length of his hair, I suspect it was actually filmed in February, before his hiatus.
I hope she watches the artist of the month for him
First thing she reacted to last week.
I'm 99% sure she already has, it should come up on their channel :).
If you're taking requests, would like her to react to SuperM performance video with Kai, Taemin, and Ten.

it’s interesting to see hyunjin characterized as androgynous - perhaps it’s the cultural difference.
