Regarding the food NVeg non-availability, airlines cannot keep both options for each passenger, in that case they have to carry 500 packets for a 250 seater airplane. so they make an estimation based on statistics of veg/non-veg ratio in previous flights and order from the catering company. in some cases airlines give the option of pre-selecting the food when you are making the booking. so cut them some slack.

You are absolutely right about what makes a good airport! It’s so infuriating at times and they will make up their own stupid rules during security check all the time. They confiscated a small sponge stress ball from me one time 😅 I was like, “enjoy kar lo, rakh lo”
And the immigration staff is so incompetent. Australia issues e-visas. Good luck if you are going to Australia like me and have another country’s visa on your passport. They kept asking me, “visa apka canada ka hai, ticket Australia ki, apko pta hai aapne kahan jana hai?”. Another time when my passport had changed, they were like, “visa pe jo passport hai vo to expire ho gya hai.” And my expired passport had Passport Seva Kendra’s stamp on it saying all visas remain valid.
I sometimes feel that they are told to harass people as much as they can so that they can really enjoy their trip overseas.

Bhai how can you even compare IGI to any good capital's international airport? It's shambolic. I see those staff roaming around CLUELESS almost every time too. Thank god we have the army there otherwise it would be even worse. The problem is no one wants to take accountability. And you see there is simply no motivation amongst the staff.

I agree with you about Delhi immigration and security very lazy pple... But it was worse in London last year when i had to wait for 3hours 15 minutes in queue for immigration, very inefficient... Worst experience of my life... Glad to know u cleared in 3minutes..

In India, those aren't actually trained immigration officials, they are infact intelligence bureau officials who have been deputed to airport duty.
They take so much time because in the background they do background check, match your picture/biometrics in their database (if you are allowed to fly etc).
That's how they nab wrong doer from fleeing country here in India or people who are put on no fly list.
However, in UK due to Five eyes Alliance, the Govt already knows what you are doing, where you are moving blah blah. So, you are getting tracked 24*7 in UK and all those 5 eyes alliance countries. And if you've done anything wrong, you are anyway doomed!
But I agree things should speed up a little. Now that Aadhar is getting integrated with Passport and also coming up of E-passports, I hope the immigration process would speed up in future (3-4 years down the line).

Hi Meru and sylvia, I just travelled to india from Heathrow and the staff shortage was on both airports (heathrow and india). I was in the queue to check my baggage at Heathrow for 2 hours, plus when I got back, there was delay for baggage reclaim. The funniest thing is that when I boarded the flight at heathrow, they told us that we will have to wait in the aircraft for an hour as our pilot had to be sent on another flight as a pilot called in sick and then they had to get a pilot to fly our aircraft who actualy had a day off :-( it's just crazy right now.
