- This @harleydavidson Dyna needs higher bars. The previous owner installed stock sportster bars, but included a set of 14" black bars that will make this bike just right. They aren't wired internally making this a lot easier, let's knock this out!

So when I got my wide glide, I had the same problem. I actually couldn’t hit the rear brake with. It ended up being a combination of a different seat and air cleaner combo to comfortably reach
My 14 street bob came new with the round air cleaner cover, it was chrome, I had it powder coated black along with various other components on the bike.
An even easier way to take off the throttle grip is to take off the riser keepers and shift the bars over if the cable isn’t long enough
I’m not a history buff, but I believe the brass ferrule was invented to hold an eraser to the tip of a pencil and was later used to fasten bristles on paint brushes and then on bicycle cables which developed into motorcycles.
Bars look better and yes, that round cleaner looks good too. Don’t plan on taking off those orange reflectors off the forks? Asking for a friend.

Do you know if panhead billy is still on the road on his bike? That bikes cool ,i like it alot,its a daily rider. Put some cool leather throw over saddle bags on,awesome.

Try Bass and/or Bronze wool, well not stretch the surface.

I changed the 14" handlebar on my Dyna last weekend for 16". You haven't lived until you internally wire the bars and fight the insanely stupid wire harness inside the frame!! I reallllly hate they routed the wires that way but hopefully I won't want to change bars again for a bit.
Yup, I just checked my Dyna. Levers are a T27. Switch housings are a T25.

Simple tip to not lose those brass ferrules while working is to put them inside your throttle grip and slap a piece of duct tape over the end. As far as not losing them while putting them back on I’m open to ideas because it’s a special kind of hell.
Put a dab of Vaseline in the hole on the ferrule, the place it on the cable. The Vaseline will hold it on the cable.

I would have to take the extra 15 minutes to run the wires internally in the bars haha but my ocd would make me 😅 i do like the cables outside though it gives it a good look🤘
Use wet aluminum foil to clean the chrome but make sure to put a good coat of wax on when your done.

That air cleaner cover is GOLD. Harley sold aftermarket ones for a few years and has discontinued them. I bought one for my Wide Glide when I had a Stage 2 done on it. Bought a second one for my Road Glide for its Stage 2 upgrade and dealerships from around the country are calling the local dealership wanting to buy it because it shows In Stock at the dealership. But it's in a bin with all the other parts I've bought and paid for and will go on the bike after Thanksgiving.
😂I think about that stuff also, all kinds of things that would make cadaver clean up easier..... Engineers deserve a smack for brass ferrels.... Love the bars , you got a good looking bike now .

The bars made a world of difference to the good. Also the round filter cover made a better look as well as being practical. Did you use any wax, paste or some type of compound with the 0000 steel wool to clean the cover? Thanks in advance.

I absolutely love my wide glide. I do hate the damn mustang seat thats on it. Feels like a horse saddle, and like I'm sitting on top of the bike instead of in it.
Picked up an ‘06 Deuce to ride for the next year or two. Seem to think you had one, do you remember if you changed the bars?

The cables were already extended when I got it and the bars were in a box so I’m not sure what they were to be honest.

So I have a question and it might be a stupid one but
I just purchased the street bob and the bars are a little bit taller than I would like to swap them out for shorter ones do I need to buy shorter cables and throttle and brakes or can I just simply swap them out they will only be about 6 inches shorter, so I’m hoping all of the existing cables will be fine Any advice would be great

Hey monkey. I jist watched the ornery one. He posted a video about his Advanblack tourpack. Some very concerning issues. Have you guys made acquaintance ? Himand his ol lady seem like good folk with a helliva story. Sounds like advanblack has been backimg there products but the issues are a bit unacceptable .
