*What a stunning wrist watch! This one has real character and of course that band is just so unique. Anyway, much love from beautiful Bangor, Maine where recreational marijuana is legal, home prices are still some of the lowest in the entire western world, the scenery is absolute nirvana and the seafood is the best you will ever taste. Tristan, you are an inspiration to so many fans here in Maine. Have a blessed day!*
Well, it's arguable if 400$ isn't much money, specially when you're talking about an object designed to keep time. But yes, this one is absolutely worth it :)
I never owned a watch in my entire life, I'm behind the game. I did some research and came across your channel and watched roughly 5-10 videos in 1 night and I went and bought myself a SARB033 instantly as my first watch ever and there is absolute 0 regrets. Thank you so much, I'm a huge new fan! PS: The Squale atmos 50 is next on my list. I have an even smaller wrist than yours so I'm hoping that will fit okay on me.
I have cheaper seikos, monsters, sarb065 beatiful cocktail dial, and yesterday got GRAND SEIKO LIMITED HIBEAT Burgundy dial that I love... love em all....
Your second "hate" really hit me. I own an Alpinist, a Rolex Hulk, and an Aqua Terra. To this day, the Alpinist has made me struggle through immense buyer's remorse for a few moments after having bought these luxury watches. It's not going to make me stop buying these nice watches, but really, very good point! You really wonder how the Japanese do it sometimes...
I would probably ask how do swiss companies get out with the ridiculous ammounts they charge for their pieces. For example a rolex explorer compared with the day date 40 in platinum, the difference is way above the cost of the precious metal. And if we compare de explorer with the sarb then again rolex is way too much. Even the best rolex asian replicas are so high quality they make you wonder if we shouldn’t find a price in between ...
I may have some insight as to your first "hate," that is, why do the Japanese reserve the best quality for the JDM? I just found this review and maybe it's too late to comment, but for what it's worth, here are my thoughts. I have been in Japan now for 12 years and my wife is Japanese, so I think that I have a good understanding of the pulse of Japanese culture. In the west, and more specifically the USA, our primary motivation to buy a product is often based on value; that is, what's the best we can get for the smallest price. The Japanese are different, however. The Japanese primary motivation to buy is more often based on quality, rather than value. The Japanese will pay more money for a given product if the perceived quality is high. (Almost) everything is more expensive in Japan, but also (almost) everything is of higher quality. Shoes, clothing, electronics, customer service, food, even my house! The Japanese are aware that Westerners, Americans in particular, are often more focused on value rather than quality. So with fixed production schedules and finite assembly facilities, I believe that they allocate their higher quality products for those markets that demand higher quality, and allocate their "other" products to markets that demand higher value. Of course, this is all generally speaking, and maybe I'm wrong, but in Japan, high quality is demanded throughout all aspects of the culture. Therefore, it stands to reason that the idea would apply to the Seiko SARB series, of which I am a new proud owner of the 017. Thank you for the excellent channel!
pretty late on from the original post date, but the idea of japanese houses being higher quality is absolutely absurd. They are timber construction and literally designed to be demolished after 30-40 years.
Hi TGV, great video as usual! I purchased the SARB035 after watching your review video. I have now owned it for two weeks and originally I was planning on only using it for nice occasions, however its so addicting to wear. It's been on my wrist since I got it. Beautiful watch!!
Without a shadow of doubt this is one of my favorite seikos ever! I just love the class and style the sarb provides! It can be pretty versatile as well, I just love its simple but yet bold design. Excellent video as always tgv!
Nailed it TGV! When I got my sarb017, the alpinist, it too made me question spending so much more on other watches. The quality is just excellent!! Best regards, Salvador
Bought an Alipinist as a gift for a friend and it was a fantastic watch. Everyone I know who has a SARB033 or Cocktail Time love those too. I just wish I didn't have such a large wrist, anything under 40mm on my wrist looks like a child's starter watch.
I just purchased a SARB033 based entirely on your review. It arrived today and I love it. I know nothing about watches and haven't worn one for 25 years. I would never have been able to find and select this watch without your comprehensive review. Kudos to you -and many thanks for taking the time to do this.
Great video TGV. I bought a SARB033 six months ago after watching your first video. I actually started to get tired of it and was going to sell it but instead took off the bracelet and put it on a black alligator strap. Now I absolutely love it!! Pure Class!! If you never owned an automatic and are new to collecting, I agree, pick this one up.
"...slow release charm...", what a great turn of a phrase which coincides exactly with my own experience. Before acquiring a SARB033 late last year, I reached out to another collector whom I respect highly to get his opinion. His reponse was an immediate and emphatic "buy", but cautioned me that it was a watch that would not overwhelm at first and would take awhile to fully appreciate. He then went thru many of the same points you covered, the dial, handset, understated yet effective lume, movement and the coup de grace, the equisite case design (the finishing, contours, details). His take was that the SARB was Seiko's response and challenge to the Swiss watchmakers. He was right on all points. I agree with another of your observations, the SARB is such a compelling value, it now skews the baseline when I look at other watches. As always, you can buy better watches but be prepared to spend a lot more. And then ulimately you have to ask yourself the question, what else am I seeking that the SARB doesn't already provide? The SARB033 falls into that select group of watches that I cannot ever see a reason to sell. Just like the venerable SKX007/009, every watch afficiando should have one in their collection. To wrap this up, I would like to offer a different type of analogy using jazz music (yes, jazz!). If you are familiar with the genre, then you should know that Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" is considered by many as the greatest jazz album ever released. It is a work that other jazz giants are frequently measured against, meaning, did they have a "Kind of Blue", few ever did. The ones that come to mind, Coltrane's "A Love Supreme", Stan Getz's "Getz/Gilberto", Brubeck's "Time Out". The SARB033 is Seiko's "Kind of Blue"...it is that good.
I just revisited this video TGV, and you are beyond therapy with your love of watches and particularly this little SARB, but that's what makes your channel so addictive. Keep up the great reviews sir. Thank you.
I just got my sarb033 in the mail today. I've had my eye on it for a long time, and was especially sold after seeing some of your past videos about it. today I left it at the hands of my local watch shop to order and place a cyclops over the date window. Soon this will be my everyday watch. Loved the video by the way!
I can feel you TGV! I bought this watch after months of savings for my graduation 2 years ago because of your recommendation. I really really struggle to come up with any negatives for this watch. Now, it's got the most wrist time compared to my other watches. Thank you for your recommendation on the SARB, always impressed whenever I wear it.
Wearing my sarb035, and trying on Rolex Air King or Datejust equivalent, the only difference in quality really was the bracelet. It really leaves me feeling like I walked away with a steal with the sarb!
Just saw your video -- Great review ... My SARB 033 is versatile -- business or casual and isn't overwhelming in appearance -- but mine is on a SEIKO bracelet -- really makes the watch look sharp!
Tgv, your sincere love and passion for watches shines in this video.Thank you for sharing it with us. I see myself wearing this till I grow old and still enjoy it just as much as the day I unboxed it. You simply cannot put a price on things you love.
Great watch... I have the Alpinist and I really love that one a lot. Also, just wanted to mention that I really appreciate your videos/ reviews. Not Snobby or pretentious, while at the same time being very discerning and informative. Plus your enthusiasm and overall positivity is fantastic. True class, thumbs up overall.
Love your videos and attention to detail. From watching your videos i have just recently bought a SARB033 as a treat for my 40th. It really is one of the best bang for buck watches that can be worn for lots of different occasions. I have a few Seiko's now but the SARB has now become the jewel in my modest collection. Keep up the great reviews mate.
I bought and received my sarb033 last week. Naturally I'm still in the initial phase of being spellbound by it. This watch is ice cold it's that cool, thank you very to this channel for the recommendation grazie a sir milioni.
Great video! This was the video and watch that turned me onto watch collecting! I initially got turned onto watches by mistake when I accidentally clicked on a review of a Seiko Sea Urchin on an unrelated site about stereos, and then this video came onto my suggested videos feed. Now I own my first automatic (SKX013!) and am obsessing on vintage Seikos and this SARB033! Thank you, TGV (and no thanks?!) for turning me on to a huge and expensive way to procrastinate!!
Just ordered my SARB033 off eBay. Upgrading from my Vincero. Was debating between this and the Tudor Black Bay 36 but for a quarter of the price, went for the Seiko instead. Hope I like it.
A year ago, I was contemplating on whether getting the Tissot LeLocle or Seiko SARB033. The LeLocle looked better, but was too formal and too big so I went with the SARB033. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Glad that your review helped me decide on getting it, thanks!
Great video! I love my 2year old SARB +5 sec a day, but i am the one with a flaw. I'm a precision freak that craves a GS quartz. That nonsense, heart and soul of a watch. Don't bye that. Precision time keeping +10 -10 sec/year, 50 year service interval. The perfect watch for me.
Absolutely love my little SARB! Bought it after your original review and has not disappointed. I've got Rolex grail ambitions but I don't think I'll ever part with this beauty. So much emotional attachment with this watch
Just like restaurant franchises, the first "store" always has the most love and dedication, equaling the slightly better product/service... Great video as always!
Tristano, thank you for making me feel even better (as if that's possible) about my new Sarbie. Call it escapism, but catching up on your channel every other night makes me relax like nothing else! Thank you very much indeed, sir. More of the same, please!
I bought one of these on your recommendation about a year to supplement my Cartier Santos bi-metal and it has become one of my all time favourite watches. The build quality is astounding at 3 times its price point and I love wearing it so much, the Santos has now been assigned to the bottom drawer.
I'm from Italy and after I'seen this video I decided to buy the Sarb033. It is my first watch and it is absolutely perfect! Un capolavoro. Thanks for the video.
I just ordered one of these. With all the great reviews out there, I felt like it was a no brainer to get it. There are so many positives about this piece, that I felt like I would fit right in my collection. Also, I think I've just accepted the fact that my collection is going to be very Seiko heavy.
Love the SARB033! However biggest and only issue is the lack of anti-reflection coating -particularly important with black dials. Btw.. really dig the green leather strap!!
I used to be a watch snob, after watching this channel i realized how nice seiko watches are. I now have 2 in my collection and a SARB035 on the way from japan right now! TGV Is awesome!
Great great episode TGV! I just got mine in the mail yesterday after lusting after it for months. I was astounded by the quality and just the feel of it. There really is something magical about having this little heart on your wrist. It also really is a chameleon that can be worn with such a vast amount of different looks. Really is stunning and I would say anyone thinking about getting it, do it. You wont regret it.
Your love for the Sarb033 bit me like a bug, and now im on the verge of getting one! A good daily swap with my 017 alpinist (my favorite seiko) and vintage 6139 cream helmet and i've fallen in love with this as well. Cheers from Manila, TGV! Best regards, Carlo
It was between the sarb033 and the orient star classic so Thank you TVG , you are the reason I bought this watch over a year ago! And I absolutely adore it. Keep up the amazing work
Great and entertaining video as always TGV, love your channel!. I got this lovely timepiece thanks to your review several months ago, and I am totally in love with it. And I have to say, I've lost count of the compliments I get from people in my office, many of them from executives with 6000 pounds rolexes on their wrists. They love it! Can't believe its price! This watch is an absolute beast of a watch for the cost.
About a year and a half ago I decided to get myself a decent watch in celebration of a promotion and company switch. Prior to this point I'd only owned sub $100 quartz watches. After watching your reviews I spent about a week agonizing between the 33 and the SARB017 and ended up with the 33 as I thought it'd be more versatile. Have been very happy with it. Thanks!
Great video Tristano. Over the last few months I've bought a SARB033, SARB065 (and Junghans Meister Telemeter) all because of your reviews! Love watching your videos.
Failed miserably.. that made me laugh out loud. Stumbled upon your channel about a week ago . Thank you for all that I have been learning. For years I've said i don't wear watches, I'll wear one when I get my breitling. Now I can and yet I'm such a fan of seiko now!! Thanks again.
It was your review of the SARB033 that convinced me to get one. The price point of this watch is spectacular for what you get. I have one minor complaint and that would be that the bezel seems to be a scratch magnet. Great work as always!
Thanks very much for the long term follow up it's great to hear you are still enjoying it after all this time! Cheers and Thanks again for all your hard work I just love your videos; your enthusiasm and appreciation is really contagious Cheers!!!
This was my first automatic, and I bought it based on your previous review (which is quite all right to see again). Very classy watch. Thanks for a perfect introduction to my watch collecting.
I love watching this segment of your episodes because of how you describe your loves ad even more so you loathes of the watch because of how hard it is (as you said) it's funny yet also relatable. Also, belated Happy Birthday, TGV. 😄
Got the SKX009 a month ago and will be getting the SARB033 or 035 next. Really love my SKX and plan to put a Planet Ocean orange bezel insert on it. Had it not been for your videos I would have never realized how cool watches are.
In that initial review you mention, you come across pleasantly surprised by what you saw. It's great to see how the watch has clearly grown on you. In writing my own three-year review I thought about the styling in terms of that market, where I lived for five years. I've come to think of Seiko positioning this as an aspirant's Grand Seiko, geared to the middle-manager salaryman who wants a piece of quiet elegance but isn't trying to outshine the bosses.
The proportions of the SARB are just about perfect. I'd prefer it to be 39mm but who's gonna quibble about a mill or two here or there. I can honestly say i'd consider buying one in order to complete my collection. Great review which is very much appreciated.
Man, after my Daniel Wellington broke, I decided to visit TH-cam and have been addicted with this channel. I think the seiko sarb looks amazing. Just found out they where discontinued. The pain is real lol
I just got my SARB 035 this monday. I absolutely love the reserved size on my somewhat larger wrist. I already have the SKX and a Turtle-reissue. This is my first dressier piece. The cream dial takes a bit of getting used to, but I really wanted something bright for the spring and summer. I am almost certain I am getting the 033 later this fall though. It just looks so badass on a black leather strap! Cheers TGV and thanks for a great channel!
I'm big-time late to the game when it comes to the 033. But, I just purchased one from Japan and it should be here in a few weeks. I'm already dying of anticipation. Thanks for the great content. Peace.
I have to say that i came to know the Sarb thanks to your channel, i bought one last year and i couldn't be happier, versatile & elegant fits any occasion and unbeatable at that price point, i have paired it with a colareb venezia strap and im looking forward to paired it with new colareb roma. best, Juan
Just added this model to my collection. Waiting for Canada Post to deliver it out of backlogged truckloads.... due to the strike. All the best the posties getting their new deal.... Until then, anticipating my Sarb033. Great video by the way! My Seiko's include Orange Monster, 2 modded SKX's and a FFF SNZH....
Great review and a very solid watch. I personally think the best automatic under $500 is the Seiko Turtle a very versatile piece. Thank you my friend all the best.
I'm new to horology, and I've been looking in on you're videos for sometime now. I think you have convinced me to go for the Seiko over a Hamilton Khaki Field. Big thanks again and keep up the great work TGV!
After owning this watch for a year now the only "issue" that I have is the lume which doesn't last long. Other than that I agree with TGV, really a splendid watch! Totally in love with it to this day.
I found your channel through that earlier sarb review. I bought mine in Tokyo for about 230€ in 2013. It was my daily watch for a long time until I changed to vintage again.
I own the sarb033, and even though I like it a lot, I gotta say i love my alpinist more. Everytime I go to choose a watch I end up choosing the alpinist... It's my daily wearer. I even considered buying a second one just in case I got it for back up 😂... In fact, I've never really felt that strongly about a watch then the alpinist and swore to myself that I only buy watches that make me feel like the alpinist does. Great vid!
heh i generally only wear black, grey, white shirts.... Plus the arm on which my watch is on got a full forearm tattoo which matches the green dial. So i can't really speak to that... But the green dial is not that overwhelming that it wouldn't fit with a blue shirt. It's my favorite watch and i got a lot of watches so there must be a reason 😂 are u considering to buy one or are u deciding between two watches? If u got Instagram check out my wristshots. Maybe it helps u IG : vanessamercedes2303
I've had a hard time deciding between the alpinist and the Sarb 033, but I like the older alpinist red so much better. I wish Seiko would go back to the Alpinist roots and offer jade colored faces and bubble magnifiers on the Sarb. lol
I love the 1930's aesthetic with the curved style of the hands and oval shaped hour hand. The beautiful green face works so well with the gold. It's so lively and colorful compared to the 1970's angular and monochromatic style of the SARB033. I won't buy two of them, but I will be damn sure to take good care of the one I have.
I recently purchased the SARB035 and my only minor complaint is the lack of AR coating on the sapphire crystal. I understand that both the SARB033 and SARB035 can be difficult to read under sunlight due to the reflections off the crystal. Other than that, it's the total package!
I just bought this watch before new Sarb033s get hard to get hold of. I am really happy with my purchase, it is a great upgrade from my first automatic watch, the Seiko 5 SNKL23, which I may now reluctantly sell. It's been outclassed by this...a great purchase!
I've had my sarb 033 for about 6 months now and I honestly question why would I need another dress watch, maybe a Grand Seiko some day but for now this one is it for me, as always awesome video Tristano .
I love my SARB035. Pictures don't do the dial justice because it has a kind of pearlescent texture that is hard to pick up in photos. It's easily worth the money and any faults can be excused given the price. However, there are a few nitpicks. 1. I've found the movement not that accurate. With a cheap watch there is probably a lot of variance. 2. The crystal could do with AR coating 3. The crystal is also a magnet for fingerprints That's about it though.
Ben Thurley my SARB035 is -1sec/week. Love it! But my SARG009 with the same movement is -30sec/day, so I know what you mean, but I know what this movement is capable of.
Though I totally understand if Seiko seems stingy with their domestic models is somehow interpreted as being snobbish, I do feel there is a deeper reason. As I understand it, Seiko prides themselves as a watch company that, not only makes excellent watches, but has superb after service. Here in Japan, especially with their Grand Seiko line, I know that they even continue to save old parts for to service past models they no longer make, just for the customers who still possibly own old Grand Seiko models. Now, this way of thinking is not necessarily for all models, but I tend to think that this idea is one reason why Seiko wouldn't put as much effort abroad spreading their market. Because, they would be unable to take responsibility and service their products as well, unless there is a trained Seiko watch maker in every country, which is more expense for Seiko. I also feel that, sadly there is bias for "brand names", understandably. Europeans have a long and rich history making amazing watches. Unless there is enough "demand" for Seiko watches beyond international costs, to put a lot of energy into their foreign sales would probably be a great risk. Just my thoughts.
Stoney Lonsome I disagree. While yes the JDM models sell quickly-in the smaller quantities that are available in N.America, I don’t believe their sales would even touch the number that they do domestically in Japan. Here, Japanese brands like Seiko, Citizen, Orient (whom is a brand basically unknown in North America outside watch enthusiasts) are viewed as “cheap” brands. I do not personally hold that opinion at all, as I am an informed watch-and Seiko- enthusiast. But here the luxury/higher end offerings of Seiko are relatively unknown because it is a hard sell sometimes to convince a buyer or a retailer that it is “worth it” to pay the same price as they would for an entry-level Swiss brand (Tissot, Hamilton) to get a piece with the same name as a ~$100 Seiko 5.The popularity of Seiko 5 in N. America, while putting Seiko on the map, has also served to devalue their higher end offerings because of the association people have with their affordable price tag. They love them for the range of models and styles, and the fact that they are automatic, and their low cost. And unless they really look at and appreciate the quality of one of Seiko’s nicer pieces, they will completely overlook the brand as a whole, aside from the affordable range. They’ve basically been put in a box, and that box is not an expensive, high quality box. And this is true EVEN of Grand Seiko, a brand that is unequivocally luxury. Nobody who knows anything about GS would argue that their pieces aren’t worth what they charge for them, based on the workmanship and attention to detail. But yet they still get overlooked as a luxury brand in N.Am, because it’s “just a Seiko.” Case in point, I was chatting with a pharmacist, and I noticed his watch, a quartz chronograph on a oyster style bracelet, but a conservative size, not too large which I like. I thought it might be a Seiko and from what I could see of the dial the name on it seemed of similar length. I asked him “is that a Seiko” and he said “a what?” I said “your watch, is it a Seiko?” to which he replied “oh, nonononono, it is Guess.” So yeah... A fashion brand watch like Guess is more desirable to an average consumer in N. America than a similarly-priced Seiko that is objectively better quality. A Seiko and a Guess both the same price which would you buy? But Seiko has to deal with the entire population, who is not as into watches as we are. But for right now, I say let them be ignorant of the great value and quality of Seiko! It just means more for us, and the less people know about gems like the SARBs, the lower the prices will be. And so be it if you have to go a bit out of your way to get a JDM model, or buy it used now on the case of the SARB. If it’s worth having it’s worth working for!
I love my Sarb!! I bought it mainly due to your previous video from two years ago. My only gripe with my SARB033 is that I wish it had anti reflective coating on the crystal. It always looks fantastic with my polarized sunglasses on!
I love it! I've had mine for almost a year & put it on a Eulit Canvas black strap from Holbens & I can't stop looking at it. It took a few straps for me to get it right but I really like the black canvas
Inspired by you I get a used one today and I can't wait to have it first time in my hands! Regarding value: prices went up since Seiko stopped selling them. Mine ist a little worn already and therefore I got it for about 500 EUR. Less used ones are already above 700 and unused SARBs you don't get under 1000 EUR anymore!! Let's see how the journey continues for this Japanese Icon.
a great example that you dont need much money to look good
YESSSSSS!!! ABSOLUETLY BANG ON!!!
Thank you :D
Best regards,
TGV
*What a stunning wrist watch! This one has real character and of course that band is just so unique. Anyway, much love from beautiful Bangor, Maine where recreational marijuana is legal, home prices are still some of the lowest in the entire western world, the scenery is absolute nirvana and the seafood is the best you will ever taste. Tristan, you are an inspiration to so many fans here in Maine. Have a blessed day!*
I put my SARB035 on an alligator strap and it looks great. My only complaint about the SARB's are that the bracelets leave me unimpressed.
Klaus Werther the pontif is broke and no one gives a f*** about him any more
Well, it's arguable if 400$ isn't much money, specially when you're talking about an object designed to keep time.
Tulia are you a woman or a guy? I got a small wrist too and was gonna get the squale 50 atmos. Sorry, i am not sure because tulia sounds female to me.
Congress of Louts huh?
Ever since I bought the SARB, I rarely wear my cheaper watches.
tulia.. you could do alot worse on your first major watch purchase! we have all made mistakes. congrats on your seiko!
I also bought the SARB033 last month, it's my first watch ever and it's amazing.
I have cheaper seikos, monsters, sarb065 beatiful cocktail dial, and yesterday got GRAND SEIKO LIMITED HIBEAT Burgundy dial that I love... love em all....
I like how it's a JDM model only...easy to spot enthusiasts!
Haha, I like the way you look at it, I didn't think of that!
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Your second "hate" really hit me. I own an Alpinist, a Rolex Hulk, and an Aqua Terra. To this day, the Alpinist has made me struggle through immense buyer's remorse for a few moments after having bought these luxury watches. It's not going to make me stop buying these nice watches, but really, very good point! You really wonder how the Japanese do it sometimes...
Thank you so much Alexander,
Top comment and most appreciated.
How do they do it?!
Best regards,
TGV
Great comment. I'm in similar situation and I agree 110%
I struggle with idea of there being a noticeable difference between value and quality in such affordable time pieces.
Very interesting point indeed.
Great read, thanks for sharing!
pretty late on from the original post date, but the idea of japanese houses being higher quality is absolutely absurd.
They are timber construction and literally designed to be demolished after 30-40 years.
@@30yearoldboomer76 at least they have to be earthquake-proof. It's the law in Japan.
Hi TGV, great video as usual! I purchased the SARB035 after watching your review video. I have now owned it for two weeks and originally I was planning on only using it for nice occasions, however its so addicting to wear. It's been on my wrist since I got it. Beautiful watch!!

Thank you Vinicius! So pleased you love it.

the only thing I would change about my 033 would be the lume colour - from the radiation green to the lovely blue
Very nice!!! Never thought of that.
Thank you Sam,
Best regards,
TGV
SamOween i would love different hands on it. Maybe mercedes hands. I don't know. Just IMO
SamOween i know this is super random but read my comment above pls
The Urban Gentry hey sir, could you read my comment above? It is an emergency! Thanks
Nailed it TGV! When I got my sarb017, the alpinist, it too made me question spending so much more on other watches. The quality is just excellent!!

Thank you Salvador!! So glad to hear :D

Bought an Alipinist as a gift for a friend and it was a fantastic watch. Everyone I know who has a SARB033 or Cocktail Time love those too. I just wish I didn't have such a large wrist, anything under 40mm on my wrist looks like a child's starter watch.
I've worn this watch daily for most of the last 7 years and still absolutely love it! Your review is spot on.
Seiko really does own this price segment with some amazing pieces. The green croc strap on your SARB really makes the watch!
Absolutely! Thank you Mike, you can see why my wife and I never take it off that strap.
Best regards,
TGV
The Urban Gentry what strap IS that? I've been looking for a nice green strap for my Seiko
Im looking for that strap as well!
Can you provide a link to where we can purchase that strap please?
The SARB033 is Seiko's "Kind of Blue"...it is that good.
dammit, TGV. I just bought one after seeing this video.
Recently bought one and I am absolutely in love with this time piece
Wearing my sarb035, and trying on Rolex Air King or Datejust equivalent, the only difference in quality really was the bracelet. It really leaves me feeling like I walked away with a steal with the sarb!
Just saw your video -- Great review ... My SARB 033 is versatile -- business or casual and isn't overwhelming in appearance -- but mine is on a SEIKO bracelet -- really makes the watch look sharp!
I just bought the 035 on your recommendation. My first watch in decades!
The SARB is may favourite piece ever from your collection. It's the one that infected me with the Seiko bug. ;)
Great choice, I did not know you loved it that much. Thank you Luca, glad to hear it.
Best regards
TGV
It is a beautiful watch I now have the same seiko bug
You said TAKE YOUR TIME, DO YOUR RESEARCH.
Well, you’ve broken me. I know I want the sarb033 to start into automatics.
Just ordered my SARB033 off eBay. Upgrading from my Vincero. Was debating between this and the Tudor Black Bay 36 but for a quarter of the price, went for the Seiko instead. Hope I like it.
Kevin Wong I just got mines in the mail today. I love it !!!!!
Also I just can't believe my luck to find a fellow enthusiast who's equally into military history and horology as yourself!
Thank you so much!
Best regards,
TGV
Best regards,
Carlo
What a great intro, Coffee and a practical use for a chronograph. Bravo
As a mexican teen I love watching your vids beacause i can watch all those interesting watches while amplifying my vocabulary
It was between the sarb033 and the orient star classic so Thank you TVG , you are the reason I bought this watch over a year ago! And I absolutely adore it. Keep up the amazing work
That makes my day to hear! Keep enjoying it Evesen,
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
Great and entertaining video as always TGV, love your channel!. I got this lovely timepiece thanks to your review several months ago, and I am totally in love with it.
And I have to say, I've lost count of the compliments I get from people in my office, many of them from executives with 6000 pounds rolexes on their wrists. They love it! Can't believe its price! This watch is an absolute beast of a watch for the cost.
I love this watch so much I bought an EXTRA 033 & 035 to go with my original 033, 035, & 17. Thanks for the great advice.
I bought SARB 033 in Singapore after watching this video. Thanks, TGV, great watch.
Fantastic! Well, you have great taste that is certain. OMG the Telemeter too!!! Your classy thing, enjoy.
Thank you Tim :D
Best regards,
TGV
The joy you display in sharing your passion is awesome. Thanks Guv, you brightened up my day and reminded me that life is good.
Thank you so much Jey, you just made my day!!
Hearing that makes it all worth it.
Best regards,
TGV
Failed miserably.. that made me laugh out loud. Stumbled upon your channel about a week ago . Thank you for all that I have been learning. For years I've said i don't wear watches, I'll wear one when I get my breitling. Now I can and yet I'm such a fan of seiko now!! Thanks again.
Aaand I think I have found my next watch and it's another Seiko. Thank you!
I bought my first watch ever SARB033 week ago. Thankyounfor introducing me to this beautiful peace.
It was your review of the SARB033 that convinced me to get one. The price point of this watch is spectacular for what you get. I have one minor complaint and that would be that the bezel seems to be a scratch magnet. Great work as always!
Your intros are so well done and tasteful. All of your videos are great.
Thank you so much :D
Best regards,
TGV
Thanks very much for the long term follow up it's great to hear you are still enjoying it after all this time! Cheers and Thanks again for all your hard work I just love your videos; your enthusiasm and appreciation is really contagious Cheers!!!
This was my first automatic, and I bought it based on your previous review (which is quite all right to see again). Very classy watch. Thanks for a perfect introduction to my watch collecting.
I like the way you presenting the watches. Very positive smile and appearance.
Absolutely enjoy to see your enthousiasm for Seiko's little gem!
I just bought the Sarb033 after watching you videos about it far too many times. It grew on me so badly.
Happy two-year anniversary of ownership! It was your review of this watch that made me get one for myself and sub to your channel! Cheers.
So glad to hear! Enjoy it, thank you smooch for supporting the channel so long, greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
TGV
This video put me over the top. Just hit purchase on a 035. My first new watch in 2 years.
My Sarb035 is traveling from Japan this moment! Alot because of you and J. ANTHONY
Got the Sarb 033 after I watched your Videos. I am super Happy! Thank you TGV :)
The proportions of the SARB are just about perfect. I'd prefer it to be 39mm but who's gonna quibble about a mill or two here or there. I can honestly say i'd consider buying one in order to complete my collection. Great review which is very much appreciated.
I love mine, beautiful piece and its accuracy is incredible, +0.5 s/d over the past half month!
Love the video! Looking to get myself one now :)) Just wondering where you got the genuine green croc strap from?
That's an amazing model! And so cheap! I'm very into minimalism at the moment but I'll probaply make an exeption for this little precious thing.
I'm big-time late to the game when it comes to the 033. But, I just purchased one from Japan and it should be here in a few weeks. I'm already dying of anticipation. Thanks for the great content. Peace.
Drilled lug holes for sure! Speaking of the Tudor DayDate, I wish the SARB was a smaller 34-35mm size as well
I have to say that i came to know the Sarb thanks to your channel, i bought one last year and i couldn't be happier, versatile & elegant fits any occasion and unbeatable at that price point, i have paired it with a colareb venezia strap and im looking forward to paired it with new colareb roma.
*Great vid Gov! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings on an incredible offering from Seiko... one of my favs!*
Love seeing a Swatch on the show!
Thank you David, it has been a while!
Best regards,
TGV
I love how your two negative points aren’t really even negatives towards the watch! So close to pulling the trigger on this!
I just ordered my Sarb033 from Japan, much to the credit of this video. Thank you TGV!
So glad to hear, I hope you love it and it brings much enjoyment.
Thank you,
Best regards,
TGV
I'm new to horology, and I've been looking in on you're videos for sometime now. I think you have convinced me to go for the Seiko over a Hamilton Khaki Field. Big thanks again and keep up the great work TGV!
Top drawer again old chap.
If I had to choose one watch manufacturer for life,it would be Seiko.
I'm torn between the SARB 033 and the Alpinist. But seeing how versatile this is, the 033 is definitely my next purchase.
Yup.
Get both and enjoy!
Maybe it helps u
IG : vanessamercedes2303
Did you get a back up Alpinist?
It's not a sin to love the alpinist...
TGV, I think the small case size is a big plus for you. It fits you perfectly
Great video TGV. Love to hear your enthusiasm and honesty.
You said it tgv!! We need a lot more jdms here in the u.s. Thanks for the great video!
Thank you :D
Best regards,
TGV
I love my SARB035. Pictures don't do the dial justice because it has a kind of pearlescent texture that is hard to pick up in photos. It's easily worth the money and any faults can be excused given the price. However, there are a few nitpicks.
1. I've found the movement not that accurate. With a cheap watch there is probably a lot of variance.
2. The crystal could do with AR coating
3. The crystal is also a magnet for fingerprints
That's about it though.
Haha I agree, but AR will make it pricier.
It’s happening now
I love my Sarb!!
