I'm a 48 year old Englishman who grew up listening to Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and Hawkwind.... So what in the name of all that is sacred am I listening to this for?! I stumbled upon Dan Tyminski and this whole genre of music a few days ago and it has stuck to me like a bug on the windshield! I guess I've got a lot of catching up to do. Man, I can't stop my feet from tapping!
phuquerz yeah that's pretty much the appeal, foot can't stop tapping, bluegrass also has some of the realist lyrics out there rap ain't got nothing on these real niggas
phuquerz as long as you are bluegrassing be prepared to be tapping to it all. Try out The Steeldrivers and and Trampled by Turtles. You will enjoy them both
Amen dude, LRB had never and will ever again sound the way they did when Tyminski and Bowman were singing together, and Dan's mandolin playing is spot on, I love his style.
This is a great song by a great, long-standing bluegrass band, LRB. Tyminski always has had one of the best voices in bluegrass. Also check out "Highway paved with pain" by LRB. It's another great tune.
Are you kidding? He was the stud of that band! I used to see those guys at festivals back in the 90's when I was still in a band, let me tell, the girls didn't think he was ugly. He'd take a solo and they'd start hollering.
I've never forgiven Alison Krause for busting up this version of LRB. These guys were the best version of one of the best bands ever. She already had a great guitar player anyway. What did she need to take Tyminski for? Get "Carrying the Tradition"-- the unbelievable album that this cut is on.
If you leave me its like money in the bank !!! Thats funny !!! You are my money in the bank !!!! I love you baby!!!! Dont worry the children will have a great Christmas !!! All my love !!! Brad
@mmfowler Yep....you've got a good eye and ear. My ex-wife went to his fiddle camp several years ago. She really enjoyed it and was very impressed with Mark and his teaching.
I like Dan's white painter's jeans. Mullets all around!!!! All of them came out of the 80's except Mark. He is probably still sporting that hat! Good pickin' though!
One of my favored longtime Bluegrass Bands. Thanks for uploading. By the way, is this not the great John Hartford plaiyng fiddle? Worth to be mentionned, I guess.
Don't discount the rigsby/smith years but they will never recapture the sound that started with the album this song came from ever again. If you have more LRB from this appearance please post more
Was Ronnie Bowman short back then or what? I've met Tyminski and Bowman and I was bout as tall as tyminski but Bowman hovered over me! Here he looks like a munchkin
I have finally forgive Dan Tyminski for leaving LRB, but only because I know it was for the best. I think Alison should have left AKUS and joined LRB. That's a better band. Can you imagine Ronnie, Dan, and Alison!

I like all the LRB lineups, but this has always been my favorite.
anything by Dan Tyminski is wonderful
The greatest version of this group. Ronnie and Dan were unequaled.
Sammy is a awesome banjo picker . What a band too.
Monumental all down-picked G-runs on the guitar
I can only wish that these guys could get back together- This was by far the best lineup.........I can only wish
Amen dude, LRB had never and will ever again sound the way they did when Tyminski and Bowman were singing together, and Dan's mandolin playing is spot on, I love his style.
I still love the LRB today, but htis was when they were the BEST! Ronnie Bowman and Dan Tyminski are still sorely missed.... :(
WOW!!! I LOVE this line-up of LRB!!! Look at their eyes, especially Tyminski's, sharing the excitement of their amazing rhythm . . .
Gotta love those 90's silk shirts. Heck, I wore them too.
This is a great song by a great, long-standing bluegrass band, LRB. Tyminski always has had one of the best voices in bluegrass. Also check out "Highway paved with pain" by LRB. It's another great tune.
Great music, love Mark's fiddle playing....

Timeless.
Wow!!!!!! OMG! Tyminski, the King of Bluegrass forever......
my favorite incarnation!
Great Band, like Sammy's clear pickin' and drive...great harmony..bluegrass at it's best!
Alison Krauss got a jewel when she recruited Dan Tyminski! What talent! Bluegrass rules! And say, that is Mark O'Connor on the fiddle. Another great!
Mark is also an amazing flattop picker.
Man they were tight!! Good stuff!
I see the lasy comment here was 11 years ago. Well, I'm still listening.
Oh, I had it sorted wrong. The last comment was 9 months ago.
I'm still cranking it up on 5/22/2024 ...
Are you kidding? He was the stud of that band! I used to see those guys at festivals back in the 90's when I was still in a band, let me tell, the girls didn't think he was ugly. He'd take a solo and they'd start hollering.
Also, I've always thought Dan was an underrated mandolin player.
It doesn't get any better.

If you leave me its like money in the bank !!! Thats funny !!! You are my money in the bank !!!! I love you baby!!!! Dont worry the children will have a great Christmas !!! All my love !!! Brad

I like Dan's white painter's jeans. Mullets all around!!!! All of them came out of the 80's except Mark. He is probably still sporting that hat! Good pickin' though!
0.55-0.57 now that's a tight band
One of my favored longtime Bluegrass Bands. Thanks for uploading.
By the way, is this not the great John Hartford plaiyng fiddle? Worth to be mentionned, I guess.
LOL that is not John Hartford, it is Mark O'Connor.
The Great Mark O'conner! I think he's as Liberal as they come, but he sure can play that Fiddle!
I'll never forgive him for leaving lol
Don't discount the rigsby/smith years but they will never recapture the sound that started with the album this song came from ever again.
If you have more LRB from this appearance please post more

I have finally forgive Dan Tyminski for leaving LRB, but only because I know it was for the best. I think Alison should have left AKUS and joined LRB. That's a better band. Can you imagine Ronnie, Dan, and Alison!
