Regarding numbers in a musical scale, it is always from 1 to 7, 8 and 9 practically do not exist (that I know of) I simply said it to take into account the chords with seventh and ninth, sorry if that is confusing
Honestly, I hardly ever comment on videos, but the fact, that you left the scale notes grayed out in the background and on top of that explained how diminished and augmented chords work BLEW MY MIND. I'm exteremely grateful for this video. Have a great day!
pretty cool. maybe you should cover chord progressions in another part since there are different types like minor and major chord progressions which follow certain rules and are generally pretty important. there's some pretty good tutorials im watching rn about touhou style music composition that covers alot about music theory but the way they explain it you have to rewatch it a couple times to understand... you explain things pretty good tho!good video
I'm new to producing music & dread the thoughts of music theory although needed. This was very easy to understand. Clear, simple, and concise. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
The scales are usually referred by the root note and then the name of the scale like C major, D lydian, E minor because if you say Cmaj it could be misinterpreted as the C major triad or Emin as the E minor triad which can lead to confusions. But still, this is an amazing tutorial for beginners and is very easy to understand, if I was a beginner watching this then I would really benefit a lot from this video. Keep up the great work! Also I'd love to see a continuation explaining how chord progressions work and also how melodies work.
