It reminds me of how difficult it is to teach older people new technique because their muscle groups are so wired to move in a certain way, they’ve lost the ability to disassociate muscle activation in isolation or in conjunction with different muscles. In other words, that portion of their “katemari?” is so massive, that changing it or cutting it off is nearly impossible, and if they do it they feel like they’ve lost a part of themselves and resist the change at least subconsciously. It’s tragic, because adults are always way more excited about learning and progress than kids. Where as changing or learning a new technique for kids is just another day at the park and “programming” or tacking on new concepts to a small “katamari” feels effortless, because of the lack of mass or years of inertia. 🤷♂️
