Still listening almost 10 years later. This has been my go-to for studying, falling asleep, or just relaxing and reading. This might be my favorite piece of music ever. Anyone still listening?
When it ends, it's hard not to pick up on some of the deeper subtleties in the seemingly "mundane" sounds around us. Eluvium is the king of unveiling harmony's omnipresence
Eluvium has released some terrific music. I really love his latest full length album "False Readings On". He also has a new solo piano record coming out. Couldn't be more excited!
I have the Eluvium (Matthew Cooper) Life Through Bombardment 7xLP set... and believe you me.... it is amazing. Talk Amongst The Trees is one of my all time favorite records.
Talk Amongst The Trees transports me immediately to a completely different time in my life. It makes me happy but also sad, exactly the effect that good music/art should have on someone I think.
At 14:30 I'm falling asleep around 3pm in the afternoon, the windows are open, between my dreams I can hear the wind and the garbage truck idling through my neighborhood. Max comfy
Fantastic piece ,thank you.( see also Matthias Grassow music on y tube. ) This is Night music ,we love it. i have eluvium cds.Drone Music People Unite !!! xxx
I live next to a train line and just listened to this for the first time with headphones and the audio up way too loud, my heart rate went up by like 80 BPM!
It's a pity that this time of music is so underlooked/unnappreciated compared to the mainstream. If more people listened to this, maybe we'd get less degenerates and more people who think a bit more!
+FallOfMath Jay don`t think listening to music raises intelligence.... I know you posted this two years ago, but come on, get your head out of your ass.
It isn't a matter of improving intelligence. It's a matter of unlocking latent potentialities within people who otherwise let their abilities atrophy and stagnate. Music like this, while it doesn't increase neural connectivity, might inspire people to be more reflective and reverent towards the beauty of existence around them. It might inspire them to reflect, to contemplate, and, as Jay said, to think.
@@hxhxhgfd Yes being reflective and reverent towards beauty is something incredibly positive. For music to inspire that you would have to be open to let music have that kind of an effect on people. People have different functions for music, some use it to be uplifting, some use it to give space to reflect. Nothing wrong with either. It also doesn't mean that if music isn't the trigger for reflecting than that doesn't mean people dont reflect at all. So these comments are just very elitist ways of thinking about music and its basically just patting yourself on the back for consuming non-mainstream media. There are definitely critiques to be made for mainstream media not being inspiring enough but calling people degenerates and implying they don't think is absolute bullshit. Also your use of language (like "increase neural connectivity") seems like a very pathetic attempt to come across as smart. Just enjoy the music and don't be smug about it.
The thing is, with anything that is consumed, the market will mostly thrive on whom it can convince to sell to. Pop music is the frontier of the musical money machine, finetuned to be heard by people with no particular musical (technical) interest, people who enjoy music but dont go out of their way to find it, to shape their taste, to discover what the world of music has in its depths. Pop music sells on many fronts that arent the actual audio itself. It sells the image of the artist, often in a reality show type of progression, showcasing the unimaginable in fame, riches, confidence and such. I am that way with fashion, poetry and many other things that I've never put energy into. And that is okay. Just because people dont reach the depth of your niche doesnt say anything about their intelligence, empathy, class or whatever. What the musical plebians are to you is what you are to them in their niche, whether its prof sports, wine, photography, psychedelics, you name it!
Hammock - Chasing After Shadows...Living With the Ghosts Ulrich Schnauss - A Strangely Isolated Place But those are not totally zbeat ambient music. I would recommend works by Ishq, Steve Roach, Robert Rich (of course), John Foxx, Harold Budd. TH-cam really is a great place where you can find even more and there are many more. ;)

On my phone permanently!
@@paulengland8983 same here!
Yes. Daily ritual.
still here
I oscillate between this, Our Sleepless Forest (album self titled) and Max Richter's Infra
It doesn't get any better than this. Such a master of sound and nuance.
Eluvium's masterpiece.
A song building around the sound of rain (around 21mins in) is such a cool and nice idea.

Wow this is amazing - that loop/synth that kicks in around 37 mins is my fave bit. Wish there was a standalone cd/vinyl edition!
Perfect background music for studying for finals.
I'm glad I found this. I really don't know why I haven't listened to more Eluvium, I listened to Copia just about every night about five years ago
same here man!

This is a fantastic album
Cuando no puedo dormir o necesito relajarme, este disco me ayuda un montón, es hermoso.
This foto and the music remind's me of an Airshow with a Rafale flying at 2130km/u .The secret is in the both . Sound and silence. This is perfect

this video is in eluvium's twitter, congrats... :) by the way, this is the best thing he's ever created.
This album was released on my bday 10 years ago!
The sirene in the beginning is absolutely insane! If anyone has more static-like drone/ambient, please let me know!
try this th-cam.com/video/o_uKI_pU4ao/w-d-xo.html

A masterpiece!!!
it's one track album.

That piano picked up and I realized... I can die happy.
I feel I can die peacefully listening to this...
It feels like an infinite stretch out
Makes me feel life.
This is the soundtrack to my mind.
Thank you very much!
This is the soundtrack to the afterlife.
eyes closed and a big fat spliff and its a mind trip away
Love this
24:14 is the best part
Perfect for studying and relaxing. I'm so glad I found this. If anyone can recommend similar music, please do :]

Zachary Smith This exact post brought me here when it hit the front page.
Try Mogwai
Tim Hecker's 'An Imaginary Country'
Hammock - Chasing After Shadows...Living With the Ghosts
Ulrich Schnauss - A Strangely Isolated Place
But those are not totally zbeat ambient music.

Nadja, The angelic process, Konstantin Elfimov ("Several days of static happiness" on my channel), William Basinski, Aairia to name a few.
Is this a time-stretch??? It's nice. Reminds me of one of those relaxation tapes, The Thunderstorm one but without the thunder. God Bless Brian Eno :)
*hug*
It gets good around 37' in
it feels so weird so all of a sudden pause the video after listening for a while
holy shit

No problem.
This song makes me want to smile.
And die.

This is enjoyable, but it also just sounds like Tim Hecker and Belong. I'm not caught up on everything Eluvium, so I hope his newer stuff evolves.
Ryan Acumen It doesnt really sound like Hecker though
where's the drop?
"Because breaking into parts sucks." lol
try copia better album i love it
wtf is this
music, Eluvium is unique and amazing
hmm not into it.
NoonLies Doll It's no music. Rather a collage of sounds. Isn't it called "ambient"?
Sounds that create music that created genre named ambient and called music by man
So deep
Form is emptiness, and the very emptiness is form.........
