Treat players Professionally. He was addressing or confronting Russell in front of the cameras not caring who saw or heard him .The coach sets the tone for the players and the organization. His behavior and attitudes toward Russell may keep other players from going to play at Denver.
Ryan Clark is, by far, the best analyst on tv regarding football. He is not politically correct but calls it like it is. I wish there were more of him. The next closest is James Jones, who appears on FS1 at time with Cowherd and Speak.
Since October 22nd (Packers game) they’ve gone 6-3, before that 1-5. Russ did something during that time to bring people together because he’s the leader that they wanted. Dan and RC are 100% right. They’re treating him wrong and disrespecting him
At the simplest level, that's just bad leadership 101. You don't chew out the leader of the team in front of everyone unless you have 0 respect for the man. It's personal and unprofessional.
You act like you have a pulse of the team. You ever think Payton can see how little the other guys respect him? So why are they going to pay $50M/yr to a guy who can't lead this team long-term.
Ryan Clark nailed it, when it came to the russell wilson situation, sean payton ain't never talked too Drew Brees like that, matter of fact he can do no wrong as far as sean was concerned
Telling Russ that he will be benched if he doesn't void a $37 million injury guarantee from his contract is absolutely fucked. If I'm another player in the league, I would not want to sign with a team that treats their players like this. Sean Payton was a bush league coach in New Orleans and now is a bush league coach in Denver. Also, I have no dog in this fight, I'm a Browns fan.
Sean Paton failed here with not going with Wilson. Shows he cant adapt his skill set. He's hired to get the best out of all the players. Peyton could easily bolster the offensive line and late draft a few receiver prospects.
He was talking crazy to Russ to get a reaction out of him………. Sean Payton is definitely a THUG……. Chewing out the guy you know won’t say anything to you is wild…..
I hope Sean Payton never win another game as a head coach and isn't he the same person that talked bad about Nathaniel Hackett when he became the Broncos coach...so who looks bad now...
It's okay to bench him for whatever reason, including a contract clause, but it's not okay to tell him why he's being benched and give him an option to take action to avoid said benching? What a weird take.
Sean Payton a thug👌🏿✅! Is 💯% correct. Thank you Ryan Clarke for calling out Payton. Looking forward to the day a player checks and undresses him like he’s treated Russ this year. Very unprofessional. It’s not like Payton’s the second coming of Lambardi.

I wish Russ well in wherever he does, or whatever endeavors he pursues moving forward. Denver seems to never have accepted him, neither did Sean. Imo, Sean is an overrated coach and should be benched right beside Russ.. did Russ deserve some criticism, yes! But not the level of hatred, bashing, personal attacks, and disrespect he endured. Russ deserves better and I pray he has continued success in the future.
I can't wait for Payton to be fired! Because players are going to hate him. If you talk to Russell Wilson with that much venom, something is wrong with you. He's a butterfly!
It's not that Payton wanted to sit him that's the issue. It's how he has been verbally disrespected and humiliated in the media and in public since day one.
The funniest part is Sean saying "we really just want to Spark our offense" when people can just Google the real reason. Two words: "INJURY GUARANTEE"....
@@joshramirez7 haha I assure you my morals are sound. They asked him to restructure, he held his ground, which was his right. The irony here is that Sean Peyton was supposedly brought in to fix Russ and validate the trade. Now they're going to a worse QB because he couldn't. Best of luck to Stidham, truly, but he's not as good as Russ is right now.
There was a reference about Travis Kelce in this commentary that makes me think that Russell Wilson and Travis Kelce has two things in common been talking about their downgraded effectiveness of their professional abilities as of late.. they both have been propelled into the LIMELIGHT with their celebrity intimate counterparts! Travis and Russell have been in the social media and celebrity rags more now than ever in their careers. Russell Wilson connected to Ciara. Travis Kelce connected to Taylor Swift. Travis Kelce is now being known as a celebrity more so than a professional athlete at this point. I think the focus on the entertainment aspect of it has affected their athletic focal commitment endeavors. Ask former athletes like Randall cunningham, Barry sanders, Bo jackson, if their athletic pedigree were still proportional to their work ethic outside entertainment
The celebrity didn't change anything. Eric truly, put dudes in there place with the chiefs. Andy Reid has no bass in his voice and he's a LeBron personality, he assumes since he wants to win everyone does. Russ, has always been a negroe, since college, since high-school. Ciara ain't change nothing, celebrity doesn't mean anything. It's only niggas who don't like russ.
The amount of delusional Denver fans justifying this by pretending their QB (26 TD:8 INT) is the problem instead of their 30th ranked defense is icing on the cake
Exactly.. everybody sucking Russ right now but not bringing up the shady stuff he try to do to Pete Carroll and the Gm when he wanted the owner to fire both
McDaniels and Co did the same thing to Derek Carr, honestly worst considering how many years Carr was with the team. Also irony of Stidham being the guy again that comes in for the final couple games.
Dan says it's not emotion, then proceeds to speak about nothing but emotions. Dan had multiple things that were actually objectively unprofessional and disrespectful, and used none of those examples, and instead just makes emotional arguments about feelings... weird way to go about that take...
If I had Goodell's job, I'd tell Denver they'd just fully guaranteed Wilson 2025 salary for pulling this, as a way of sending a message to the league bad faith behavior isn't okay. Teams have to negotiate contracts in good faith, and execute them in good faith. It demonstrates a profound lack of integrity for the team to use it's power over playing time to limit a player's opportunity to achieve financial incentives written into their contract.
Im glad that there are respected figures in the media pointing out Sean Payton's despicable behavior towards Russell Wilson. He should be ashamed of himself treating a vet and starting QB like that. Wilson is a champion and was a top 5 qb for quite a few years and was a big part of bringing the Seahawks back to prominence. Broncos ownership needs to step in and make him accountable that's a bad look. They approved Wilsons deal and now they want to screw him. Wilson has handled it with as much class as humanly possible and both the broncos ownership and Payton are definitely lucky it was Wilson and not someone else. That man takes so much heat and criticism and always takes it like a pro should. Say what you want about Wilson, he's a class act and has handled all this as well as possible despite the awful behavior from that entire organization..
But you know what's funny. People at the beginning of the season said good for Sean Payton for doing that to wrestle Wilson because of what happened last year and all of the speculative rumors and reports coming out of Denver and coming out of Seattle about Russell Wilson people assassinated his character and I was one of the few people who pointed that out but nobody was buying it and called me b******* so I don't want to hear people defending Russell Wilson now

Ryan Clark talking facts 💯 👏
Loved when he said" Sean you lucky you got the right one" because Sean not talking to Lamar Jackson or Deshaun Watson like that. Russell just a class act.
@@TampaAries I hear what he's saying, and I agree that Wilson is a classy guy, but what could anyone really do to him without ruining their image/career. If the coach has the power from ownership, you gotta play the game. All these guys have to answer to their coaches and owners.

@@scratchpenny yeah I agree. Russell handled that well.
@@TampaAries Why? what is lamar or deshaun going to do. Go all thug on him.
If this was strictly about winning as Payton said, he would have benched Russ when they still had a real shot at the playoffs weeks ago. And the broncos wouldn’t have approached Russ about restructuring his contract right after after beating the SB contending Chiefs. Russ is an absolute man for keeping this private and letting Payton look like a child.
Is anyone surprised that a coach who incentivized his players to give concussions to other players is acting unprofessionally? With everything we know about concussions now a days and the impact they can have both the person and others around, he shouldn’t even be allowed in the league anymore
After "sweep the leg" that should've been the end of him coaching in the NFL.

Ps. Real men have dogs.
It's not in the Bronco's best interest to discourage potential free agents, the way they're doing now. Insanity. This was a money move and a reflection of the coach that felt fine throwing a tantrum at a qb he clearly doesn't respect, to drive home the point he made in a number of smaller ways. Russ wasn't his hire or guy. Sean dislikes him. That was illustrated by the kissing babies remark, among others.
Good luck, Russ. Here's hoping you find a better home for the remainder of your career. Some place that wants you and will build around your talents, for starters.
I feel bad for Russell Wilson, Broncos should be ashamed of themselves & Sean Payton overrated self.

It's personal and unprofessional.
you must have never played
You act like you have a pulse of the team. You ever think Payton can see how little the other guys respect him? So why are they going to pay $50M/yr to a guy who can't lead this team long-term.

Ryan Clark nailed it, when it came to the russell wilson situation, sean payton ain't never talked too Drew Brees like that, matter of fact he can do no wrong as far as sean was concerned
How would he know how he talked to Drew Brees they were NEVER on the same team
Thank you RC. Hit every single nail on the head
I LOVE THAT YOU CALLED HIM A THUG!!
I CAUGHT THAT REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY!! R.C.
I watch dans takes because he is one of the best imo
I agree…I hope he goes to a program that works with his abilities because he can still play.
Broncos and Sean Payton BETTER cook next year 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Not going to happen. They now have no QB, terrible cap situation, and draft situation is not great
They won’t. Payton is washed and has been overrated since their defense carried them to that super bowl
They cooked this year lol
He was talking crazy to Russ to get a reaction out of him………. Sean Payton is definitely a THUG……. Chewing out the guy you know won’t say anything to you is wild…..
Ryan Clark is the MAN! Preach Bro! PREACH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Russell Wilson and Taylor Swift are on the blame train together! Lol😂
Marshawn Lynch tried to tell us on Uncle Shay Shay's podcast.
I hope Sean Payton never win another game as a head coach and isn't he the same person that talked bad about Nathaniel Hackett when he became the Broncos coach...so who looks bad now...
Sean Payton HAS a Napoleonic Complex! A legend in his own mind!
RC got it right
Russ to the steelers we need a good QB
Wow that's intriguing
Falcons but first they need to fire Smith lol
Lmao getting a scrub
It’s pretty obvious that Sean Payton clearly didn’t like Russell Wilson because he’s not the qb he picked and Russell Wilson hasn’t even been bad this season has he been worth his contract you can argue no but at the end of the day you can clearly see that these franchise don’t care about the players if they can use you as scapegoat they will.
Thank you, RC and Dan. I totally agree.💯
These dudes are KINGS at talking over each other. It's like they think they'll perish if they let the other person finish what they're saying.
The funniest part is Sean saying "we really just want to Spark our offense" when people can just Google the real reason. Two words: "INJURY GUARANTEE"....
This is so insane. I’ve never even heard of a team doing this?
Cutting bait on a terrible contract early? This is new to you...?
@babybison2881 Doing it the right way. Ever heard of that? Class? Respect? Or is that not a thing you were taught?
They do it all the time, up just don’t hear about it much.
@@joshramirez7 haha I assure you my morals are sound. They asked him to restructure, he held his ground, which was his right. He his now being benched so they can minimize any further financial obligations to him. Which is their right.
Where is the wrong way in this? Or the "classless" and "disrespect(ful)" behavior?
Payton doesn't want him. It's his team. He didn't bring him in or get fleeced in the trade or give him the insane contract he's not worth. He has no ties to him. All he sees is that he can't win with him. I actually respect Payton for making such a ballsy decision.
I think it’s funny that Sean is getting all this hate for how he treated Russ when the whole league was clowning Russ last year. Not saying he treated him fairly but Russ was getting a new level of hate from the whole league and Sean’s comments weren’t scrutinized at the time

Great conversation all around and I don't really have anything to add. Just want to say that RC is looking really good in that suit. Classy and, unfortunately, I'll never be able to pull off something that stylish and at the same time casually cool. Have a Happy New Year everyone!
Wilson's contract is a albatross. Wilson is partly responsible.
Wow, the Walton Family (WalMart) is taking advantage of an employee. I’m shocked! (I’m not) The only good thing about this is the horrible labor practices of the Walton family are getting more national exposure. They’ve been treating their retail employees like dirt for decades. That family has no honor.
The play calling was not just questionable. Some of it was downright bone-headed. I noticed in the last game he changed strategy and kicked field goals on 4th and short. The play calling definitely cost them games this year.
Thank you RC for keeping it real!!!
SUPER FACTS!!! SPEAK ON RC!!!
That's facts he is a good rep for the NFL, very positive player.
Ppl defend Wilson and blast Payton but when McDaniels did it to Carr last year no one came to his defense except for his brother
Payton yelling at Wilson on the sidelines shows how much he respects Russell! Things to do in Denver…pack your bags and get out of there!
I watched this live it was great
They paid the world to get a seasoned, top flight QB with a lust for a Lombardy and that sure isn't what they got. If Brady had gone to Tampa Bay and had the same record it would be considered a failure.
But Tampa would still run Brady his money. You think in that scenario they would ask Brady to restructure his contract?? Gtfoh
THANK YOU DAN!
Exactly it doesn’t make it OK so he’s getting 39 million walking out the door in the meantime Sean Payton in the Denver bronco organization has undercut him humiliated and ruined. His legacy made Russell Wilson look like he was an idiot when he’s in an elite player and. The reality is bronco organization does not take care of players.
try watching the games.
Again, you are ignorant this goes deeper than the games. Research will you. Quit blaming everyone that is the problem in Denver. Again, not Russell Wilson's fault Denver Front office screwed up, the new owners hired a freaken old school coach who will not and cannot modify his game plan to fit Russ strengths he has not even tried that is why Russ looks like he cannot play or does not fit. The 53 man roster sucks all this is on the Front Office the new owners know nothing about football the blind leading the blind and the Front office screwed this up hired Hackett to get Aaron Rodgers who does that as a GM never materialized then Got Russ not thinking du might night fit head coach Penners hired and they conducted a search like looking for a CEO the Penners just do not get it this is not Walmart Corporation! It is a mess the GM needs to be held accountable for his big mistakes fired, Sean Payton needs to be held accountable on he treated Russell Wilson a smart QB but dumb coach who treated Russ terrible in public blamed Russ this all on Front office, best shot with Russ as QB make Sean coach him or you are looking at another drought for 3-5 years and Mr. B never ran the team this way! We are now like the Browns and when you look around all the QB that leave Denver succeed and Russ will too if cut because we do not know how to hire a coach! Bottom like not Russ fault.@@drkaymotorsports
He's (Russ) a Wal-Mart employee. What did you expect ?
He's being treated like 💩
$40 million worth of it, genius.
RC spoke the truth. Much respect to him.
These delusional fans expect Wilson to scramble around like he did in Seattle. Haha the dude is 35 years old not 23 or. 24.
Well Russ and his agent Mark Rodgers went behind Pete and GM John to get them fired on his way out here. Sometimes things just go full circle 😂😂😂
Exactly.. everybody sucking Russ right now but not bringing up the shady stuff he try to do to Pete Carroll and the Gm when he wanted the owner to fire both

Agree with you, completely. Sean Payton is a bad match for Russ and the Bronco team.😊
If we have learned anything is that the Walmart family is unprofessional and they are using Sean Payton as the new face of the Broncos management
Coaches have always chewed players out from high school to the NFL the media always try to protect Wilson such clowns
Sean Payton is very disrespectful towards Russ Wilson from day 1.
Trust me Russ has known this
Yeah RC!!! Speak those facts! 💯
In complete 100% agreement with Dan and RC.
Payton has a massive ego .... him shouting at him looks like a fool
Also, I didn't realize Russ was working for Walmart.
He just got rolled BACK!
😊😅😂😆
If I had Goodell's job, I'd tell Denver they'd just fully guaranteed Wilson 2025 salary for pulling this, as a way of sending a message to the league bad faith behavior isn't okay. Teams have to negotiate contracts in good faith, and execute them in good faith. It demonstrates a profound lack of integrity for the team to use it's power over playing time to limit a player's opportunity to achieve financial incentives written into their contract.
Sounds like the Walmart family tried to blackmail Russell Wilson
The Denver Broncos clip was well spoken by everyone. Especially Ryan Clark! He was masterful.
You must have low standards.
People at the beginning of the season said good for Sean Payton for doing that to wrestle Wilson because of what happened last year and all of the speculative rumors and reports coming out of Denver and coming out of Seattle about Russell Wilson people assassinated his character and I was one of the few people who pointed that out but nobody was buying it and called me b******* so I don't want to hear people defending Russell Wilson now
But I'm paying you!
Bane: and this gives you power over me?
See if he will be doing those “high legs” on the team plane now!
Sean Payton disrespected Russ and yelled at him on the field (on camera) to set up the benching move. Payton has always been a piece of work.
I love the point Dan made… it’s not about the money

Dan is one of the realest first to agree with RC about Russ being the right one cause he knows f around find out
Broncos treated Russ very well . Swing passing to the RB does not have count for Wilson’s completions at the percentages it is . An old man like me could compete those . The NFL says produce or get cut . No other options.
I agree with Ryan Clark except he was one of the talking heads talking crap about Russ personally all year last year.
Now you want to come to his defense?
Now you want to talk about his humanity and professionalism?
