There are so many everyday expressions that people never explain. Most of the ones people explain are easy to figure out in context. to retire=to go home To be low= dying slowing, to be in bad health Those are the ones I can thing of right now. My mom speaks to my uncle in Trini often on the phone and there is always some expression I don’t understand about the conversation.
Growing up as a first generation here I even used some of our slang. Just accustomed to hearing it at home. “Nah” was a hard one to quit. I still get questioned for some of the things i say, probably because i don’t have an accent yet use some slang
