being a working artist requires work. work is hard. these guys are internalizing (and articulating) this inevitable truth. being in a band is super difficult. their frankness and honesty in this interview is terrific because while it may describe the workings of the band, it is not the definition of the output of the band. so good. keep on DIIV!
I love DIIV. Cole and Colin are like my Lennon and McCartney. They're good and they'll be fine for the next 5 record. Cole is a genius writer, melody, producer. He's a study. Basically as long as Cole and Colin are together. This is a long term band . Plus Andrew is an underrated guitarist. He's my fav guitarist right now. Ben is hardworking.
@@ryfipassword there's that one part solo guitar he did on Taker towards the end of that song. The guitar line is only 3 keys but very powerful. So simple but memorable/emotional. It's sounds like a sitar like sound.
@@ryfipasswordI do , or or some should tell them to give them a fashion look that's them. Colin would look great with a. Motorcycle slim fit leather jacket. And Cole, sweater is double size.
I have been impressed during the interviews with how intelligent and articulate these guys are. Quite refreshing. I bought their latest on CD , yes the actual physical product, which is something I haven’t done in years.
I got to see them play in Austin a few weeks ago and it was awesome. I've also never had a record or live show hit me the way this one did. its very personal content. I love this band
I love Diiv. They're brilliant, Cole is a brilliant songwriter. They're a great live band. Unfortunately, this is their weakest record. I loved Deceiver, Is the Is Are, Oshin but this album doesn't feel like Diiv in the same way those other records did despite how different they all could sound at times. I dunno how to articulate it, but it's like there are pieces missing! Cliche sounding yeah but I dunno. Everyone Out is the best song by far and it is a good song....Super hyped for the future of the band though. One of the best guitar bands in music. We need Diiv.
not watching this because of the title. If you like harry potter you really need to grow up and read books for adults. i hope this is the sentiment expressed by this band. fuck harry potter
Woah, chill. It was mentioned literally just once (in a neutral way) during the interview. Totally unrelated question: do you really consider skipping a thing entirely just because of the title a grown-up thing to do?
@@random_fat_guy It doesn't matter whether or not it's a 'grown-up thing to do' - this is just youtube. Sounds like you need to do some growing up of your own - pay attention to where you are!
This interview is soooo important for people who are musicians

It’s a great record and I don’t understand it yet. There’s a lot to process and it demands repeated listens. Looking forward to slow growing with it

You can tell they demo their stuff thoroughly. Very well-crafted
Damn that was a super insightful interview. I’ve been listening to the DIIV podcast and this was equally as interesting as that.
Wait, what's the DIIV podcast?
@@SlushPuppy2000 they have a podcast, it started on 2020, they stopped and now it has returned :)
