It does all look the same. I am a huge fan, and still wait for the announcer (or you) to explain it half the time. That's why it needs to be more than rotations as a measuring stick for what's best. They are alienating casual fans by requiring an expert to explain it. Also, Harrington's trick that got him 2nd was arguably more difficult, and looked cooler imo. Fans can tell what looks "steezy" even when they don't necessarily understand it. Style needs to be a way bigger component of the score. There is still an element of pageantry to the sport, and it can't be measured scientifically.
I know someone said this in the ski knucke huck video you posted but i wanna say it again I NEED to see your reaction to the snowboarding knucke huck, those boys are so steezy with it

That is the wildest 4th place I think I will ever see. At that point just give 2nd-4th tier 2 and 1st tier 1 and call it a day. This event made me sick
The Ranchu goldfish, often referred to as the "king of goldfish," is one of the most beloved and sought-after ornamental fish in the world. Its unique appearance, fascinating history, and gentle temperament make it a favorite among aquarists and goldfish enthusiasts alike. Known for its rounded body, lack of dorsal fin, and expressive features, the Ranchu is a prime example of how human care and selective breeding can create a distinct and charming pet. Origins and History The Ranchu goldfish has a rich history that traces back to ancient China. It is believed to have been bred in the 16th century during the Ming Dynasty. The Ranchu was initially developed as a variant of the Chinese wild carp, which was selectively bred to emphasize particular physical traits, such as a more rounded body and distinctive head growth. Over time, this form of goldfish spread to Japan, where it became especially popular and further refined. In Japan, the Ranchu was often kept by the aristocracy and wealthy citizens, and its breeding was considered an art form. This led to the creation of various subtypes with differing body shapes, fin placements, and colors, but all Ranchu share the same general characteristics. The fish's appearance and behavior have captivated people for centuries, cementing its status as one of the most treasured ornamental fish species. Physical Characteristics The Ranchu goldfish is easily recognizable by its distinctive round body and large, expressive eyes. One of its most striking features is the absence of a dorsal fin, which sets it apart from other goldfish varieties. The lack of a dorsal fin gives the Ranchu a more compact, streamlined appearance, and adds to its overall grace and charm. Its body is typically deep and broad, giving it a "ball-like" shape, with a smooth, almost seamless curve from head to tail. The Ranchu’s tail is often broad and slightly split, contributing to its elegant swimming motion. Another defining characteristic is its "wen," or fleshy growth on the head, which becomes more pronounced as the fish matures. This wen is one of the main traits that breeders look for in a high-quality Ranchu, as it adds to its regal appearance. Color variations of the Ranchu are diverse, ranging from the classic orange and gold to white, red, and even black or calico patterns. The coloration can vary between individuals, but the rich, vibrant hues contribute to the visual appeal of this stunning fish. Behavior and Care Ranchu goldfish are known for their docile and gentle nature. Unlike many other types of goldfish, Ranchus tend to be less active swimmers and are more likely to exhibit a slow, graceful swimming motion. This makes them well-suited to life in a more tranquil aquarium environment. While they are not particularly demanding in terms of care, they do have specific needs that must be met for them to thrive. One of the most important aspects of caring for a Ranchu goldfish is maintaining water quality. Like all goldfish, Ranchus produce a significant amount of waste, so it is crucial to ensure proper filtration and frequent water changes to maintain a healthy environment. The water temperature should be kept in the range of 65-72°F (18-22°C), and the tank should be spacious enough to allow the fish to move freely. A tank of at least 20 gallons is recommended for a single Ranchu, with additional space for each additional fish. Ranchu goldfish are also particularly sensitive to their diet, so providing high-quality, nutrient-rich food is essential. They can be fed a variety of foods, including flakes, pellets, and live or frozen options such as brine shrimp and bloodworms. It's important to avoid overfeeding, as this can lead to obesity and other health issues, especially since Ranchus are prone to digestive problems due to their compact bodies. Breeding Ranchu Goldfish Breeding Ranchu goldfish requires knowledge, patience, and careful attention to detail. The first step in breeding is selecting healthy, mature individuals with desirable traits, such as a well-formed wen and a deep, round body. Successful breeding usually takes place in spring, when temperatures are slightly warmer and the fish are more active. Ranchu goldfish are egg layers, and their breeding process involves the male chasing the female and nudging her abdomen to stimulate egg release. Once the female releases her eggs, the male fertilizes them. The eggs will typically hatch in a few days, and the fry (young fish) will begin to develop their characteristic features after a few weeks. Raising Ranchu fry requires special attention to water quality and feeding, as they are very small and delicate in their early stages. Conclusion The Ranchu goldfish stands as a testament to both nature's beauty and human ingenuity. With its distinctive appearance, rich history, and graceful temperament, it has earned its place as a prized species in aquariums around the world. Whether as a showpiece in a dedicated goldfish tank or as a charming companion in a home aquarium, the Ranchu continues to capture the hearts of enthusiasts, demonstrating why it has remained so revered for centuries. With proper care, these unique fish can live long, healthy lives, adding a touch of elegance and serenity to any aquatic setting.
@chrisskiess9330 they are pushing the envelope at all times. More and more are coming from slope style and big air backgrounds and it's insane watching them trick off of cliffs
@@zb470 makes you wonder what might happen if the fis WC guys/gals move to FWT later in their careers like Candide did. If they make it thru the learning curve of freeride terrain the trick progression will be insane
As a skateboarder i love watching skiing and snowboarding but its so hard to comprehend the spins and axis of the rotations. Its like learning all the different skate tricks all over again, so i can see how as a casual viewer its not as pleasing to watch especially with how quick the sport is advancing. Also the scoring is really hard to understand if you dont really know the sport.
All the credit in the world to all these guys, but a sw tail butter trip 2160 scores less than a forward trip 21?! In fairness one of the corks is maybe more of a wobble but to me doing it sw to tb adds elements of style and creativity to an otherwise purely technical field of tricks. That being said I think that podium could've gone in any order and there would not be much to complain about. Respect to all these guys 🤝
the reason x games is falling in masses is because to a common eye every rotation looks the same, every trick is a sense of reptiveness in that its the same concept but with more rotations
they are going to have to invest in more slowmo camera's, x games get the slowmo guy's. These guys will end up spinning so fast they out spin the rotation of the earth.
I wouldn't mind a change in format now these tricks are getting sooooo complicated. Best / hardest trick + steeziest trick judged out of 200 would maybe bring back some creativity and make it more accesible to the average person.
really? i fell knuckle huck is da best... big air leans towards most spins... less steez... sure its crazy skill, but kinda like diving. technical, not steezy. -__0 just my take on it.. that being said, SIC AIR BRU :)_
I don't see how this sport progresses if it's just spin to win? What are they going to do, just keep building bigger and bigger and bigger jumps until the point where if you don't land the trick, you die?
"I'm absolutely terrified I do not want to be doing these tricks" fucking real lmfao
T pod so real for that run 1 interview hahah
He is a legend for that
I've already lost my mind at the 23s and 21s, but who in their right mind throws a switch fronty on a 4000ft jump?!?
REAL
Best trick of the night was Matej's switch frontflip to PANIK! For the people.
Also what happened to the style run?
I also was really looking forward to the judging being based on style. Alex hall must have thought the same thing.
16:15 is the stamp
I feel bad for Alex. He did that trick for the people. The judges promoting spin to win behavior just breaks my heart a little. A 42 is outrageous

I dont see how Luca didnt win with the switch triple. Doing that rotation while still making it so stylish is what the judges need to be rewarding.
Luca and Matej both beat Miro in my book

If the 2340 was Landed at comp before hand he wouldn’t have won. Only won cause it was the first one

First time at x games this year and all i gotta say is it looks waaaaay bigger in real life than on tv 😮
I love the camera angle they used this year. You can really see the amplitude on a couple of the hits.
I have a suspicion that the judges intentionally made his score 42, we all know that’s the meaning of life
it was a 42.0
That answer was so real LMAOOO
Bro this guy is a poet
Luca Harrington is actually from New Zealand @steepsteep
