The reason boost is reading high is because its reading absolute pressure instead of gauge pressure, just subtract 14.7 and thats about what a boost gauge would read
I assume with regards to tuning you would need to download/buy it off Maptun to put on one car only? Or can you use it on multiple. I never understood the tuning process of a car
The Nano seems cool but two questions. 1 it seemed like several of the parameter were not accurate. Do you know why that was and would it affect data logging for tuning? 2. Can you explain how this works with tuning? Would you use the device to flash an upgraded tune to the car?
@@AutoAutopsy I’m just wondering why it would be the car and not something buggy with the Nano. Anyway. So to get a tune I would need to purchase a tune through my phone and have it connect and flash through the Nano? Otherwise I could just borrow a TunerX for about $40 (plus deposit) to flash?
Do you have a tech2 device? I was told by replacing my radio I would need to reprogram with a tech2 and they're pretty expensive. 06' 93 aero. Any advice?
That’s a great idea for a video. I see “use a tech 2” constantly with various Saab mechanical items but don’t know which unit to buy or all the features available. Can Nano do any of these things?
Unfortunately Tech2’s are required for most module replacements on NG 9-3’s. It’s likely you can find someone around you that has a Tech2, if you don’t not want to spend the money on one or security access. Radio marriage video: th-cam.com/video/PdLDlQOehAQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ue3Q--7Y9OcP5_AS
Yes, the tunes are sold separately. That’s how all tuners work 👍🏼 the website is referring to you being able to tune your car with it and switch between tune files!
Un saludo desde México muy buenos videos, una pregunta el link qué das es para la compra del nano o es solo su alquiler? Y también saber si lo envían a México
Cost differential for my Viggen - 667 euros for X vs. 581 euros for the Nano, so not really close to half price. However, I appreciate the technology advance.
@@AutoAutopsy If one wanted to tune their engine, there are 2 options from MapTun - the X and the Nano for hardware and then the license cost for the software. When comparing the package cost of both, the differential is 667 Euros vs. 581 Euros - at least for the Stage 1 Viggen. The presumption is that the buyer already has a laptop, so no need for that incremental cost.
Saab is such an icon of a car. My first car was a used Saab900. I treaded it in 1998 to a Saab900i. Then I bought a new Saab 93 in 2002 lol. And then a new Saab 93 in 2014 (I think this one was a 'new old' one). Point being I love a Saab lol (The time Saab made 900 Convertibles in Finland was so cool.)
@@AutoAutopsy Nope, there is now very little difference between this unit and any other OBDII module, it's literally just an interface adapter, all of Maptun's proprietary technology (i.e. the reverse engineering of SAAB codes) has been moved to the phone software. This unit literally only has a couple of off the shelf SOCs and a few components.. The idea that they somehow minituirized all their technology into this is pure snake oil, they can sell it at half the price of the Maptuner X and still make more profit on it Their licenses are expensive but fair, the've reverse engineered a lot of proprietary code and have pretty much exclusivity on it, but charging hundreds for this on top of the license, when it is costing them so little to manufacture, is taking the piss

i have a 2010 saab 9-3 2.0T and im looking into the stage 2 tune (with no experience) and im wondering if the nano or maptuner x is better
Jour journey with Saab is just awesome🇫🇮😄

yes, multiple cars be used on the same handheld. you need to buy a tune file for each vin, however

1. Yes, likely car’s error on the data logging
2. See 5:44 mark of video

Not related but have you changed your timing chain?
Cuanto baja el consumo de gasolina en la primera etapa?
I did not see any decrease in gas mileage

Muchas gracias
Does it work with the LED globes error and flickering problems
At the time of filming, it did not have LED disabling capabilities, but I believe they are doing an update. th-cam.com/video/eC_ptwr__6I/w-d-xo.html
WHere the files are comming from? and 2nd- can you only put Maptune files or any ?
Do you know if the nano has the ability to enable the led lights like the maptunerx is is that not a feature
Yes it’ll be able to do that. If not now, soon
So when i buy the nano i will also have to purchase stage 1 as well kinda miss leading on the website saying youd be able to browse all the tunes

@@AutoAutopsy okay sweet just wanted to make sure was thinking about investing in one to keep an eye on some of the data
This looks cool, so u can just buy this and Tune your Car? So u just can put a Stage 1, 2 or 3+ on??
Yes; tunes are not included with the nano - the are a separate cost and purchase. But tuning can be done with this
@AutoAutopsy so so does it work to get a Stage then
if you look closely at 11:25 ..right before it shifts gear it drops a little rpm an puffs a little smoke..why it that ?
I’m not quite catching what you’re referencing on video, sorry :(
no custom tunes? can a indy tuner use this to make a custom tune?
Kinda like eSid, but with bluetooth?
For the data logging and code reading portions, yep - but more capable. You can also do tuning and more!

Yes, they ship worldwide. Currently rentals are not available 👍🏼
@@AutoAutopsy entonces el link que pones es para compra verdad? Y muchas gracias por contestarme
Does anyone now if Maptun stage 5 becomes cheaper if I already have stage 3 and give it back to Maptun when buying stage 5?
You’d keep the other files as well. They may be able to offer a discount if you’re a repeat customer

Without files, the nano is about 270 euros and the maptunerX is about 460. Can you clarify what you mean? 🤔😁

Love me a nano.

65,000Nm of torque lol. Looks cool but half the data is displaying incorrectly. They should fix that.
My first car was a 2004 Saab 9-3 had the 2.0t purchased 2017 for $1000 was a good zippy little car still going to this day my sister has it now

30 psi boost? Don't think that's correct as an aero turbo would max out at 20ish PSI
It’s boost including atmospheric pressure, absolute pressure.

They're charging €273 for something that costs around €20 to manufacture 😡
You’re paying for the years of R&D that went into it and the capabilities it has. It’s the cheapest and best Saab handheld tuner out there 👍🏼
