I've never watched a single episode of Lost in my life and yet I recognise the majority of those characters. I think it's just because it was so heavily advertised at the time.
As someone who considers themselves liberal and thoughtful, I find it difficult to say this, but I've noticed that the aging process seems to affect male and female actors differently. The men often appear to age well, while the changes in women seem more noticeable. I want to emphasize that this is just a personal observation and is not intended to be dismissive in any way.

When Sawyer called Paulo Zoro ,I almost peed my pants..
series lived up to it's name, by the fifth season i was lost.
Yer it kind of loses the plot, it just goes into random time shifts, gets confusing, just watching it now half way through five.
