This is where I spent most of my time during Khmer Rouge era. The area between Skun and Phaav was a thick forest. Our unit stayed in that forest where I learned to find Aping (black spider). I was in a special group of about 50 people. We mostly did rice planting. Our mission was to go where they urgently need man power. There was a dam that we built just southeast of Skun. There was a bad flood one time. They asked us to move to stop the damage of the dam at night. We walked through Skun at midnight when we heard loud music playing. We told each other that they were killing people there. Well, it was too late for us to stop the damage of the dam. So we were diverted to another place where we helped people in a village planting rice instead.
