Absolutely horrifying they could normalize such inhumane, grotesque behavior to the degree they could socialize and attend parties at night, and so close to all that human suffering!
We must be better than this.

From a psychological point of view: we could all be like this. To a certain degree we are already, without recognizing, because we usually don’t live in this extreme circumstance. But of course we all know people who suffer, are homeless or lonely.
Humans are like that. We have the ability to adjust to the situation and see the world as it suits us. And also see ourselves in a favorable light, even though we do terrible things.
We are also adjusting our worldview to the socialization we received (therefore exist the different cultures on earth).
I don’t want to defend these people, don’t get me wrong and I am sure some of them had the time of their lives, living out their sadism. But some of them deeply believed they do something good. Or as some of them described it later to the judges: „That work needed to be done for the sake of the people. It wasn't a pleasant job, but we did our duty“. And with that kind of thinking they probably enjoyed the free time.
Unfortunately another psychological aspect also came into place. If the peer group rewards you for being mean, people overstep more and more borders. On a smaller scale we see that when groups bully a weaker child. And on the bigger scale we saw that in the concentration camps.
We all have to be careful and watch our own behavior and thinking and what we allow ourselves to be influenced by. The problem with these people in the pictures is: they were not monsters, they were ordinary people behaving like monsters. Could be everybody…,

Sort of reminds me of how the unvaxxed were treated, many people said they were a bit nervous as their leaders was extremely threatening to them. They lost jobs, no flying or eating out, lost their families. What was most amazing is how many people felt the same way, lock them up is what many said...propaganda is propaganda!

The attitude toward our drug addicted homeless, in fact all the people on the street, the young and the old proves to me people can't handle the pain of people suffering so they turn against them to cope by justifying anger towards them. It's no different than Nazi Germany! They were manipulated by the Nazi's and had to carry out their orders to survive, so they justified their hateful actions to survive. It's much easier and safer that way and to admit this one has to see they turned their back on their fellow man and became evil toward them. One then sees the weakness in themselves and realizes they are no different than their victim. They realize they are the very thing they hate!

Hannah Arendt was correct aboit the "banality of evil". Because it was so bureaucartized, evil could be gleeful in its off hours.
We should remember that this was one of the major motivators for the gas chambers. They were more efficient weapons of mass murder, but they also replaced the psychologically draining and demoralizing mechanism of mass firing squads, which caused depression, alcoholism, and lack of unit cohesion amongst police battalions, wehrmacht soldiers, and SS on the Eastern front. The design of the gas chambers was partially ratioanlized as a meand of keeping Nazis from having to deal with the effects of direct and inmediate murder. This is well documented by historians. Its sickening.

Hannah Arendt explained it in her book „Eichmann in Jerusalem - A Report on the Banality of Evil“. Atrocities didn’t start with WWII, nor did they end with it. All people have the intrinsic impulse to commit crime. Fortunately, only a small fraction will act upon it, and then justify it through nonsense („I was given an order“ is the most classic one. We‘ve heard it in Rwanda, Bosnia, Syria, or more recently, in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.)

@roymcdonald6749 Your question is the same one, asked over and over and over again.
      Your answer is this.....
God made us and also gave us the ability to choose our paths and make our decisions in life. He gave us that gift and respect. Many people choose to hurt others, kill others, etc., and many choose to help and love and bless others.
Few humans want God to be telling them what they are going to do then making them do it against their will. Most people who haven't yet grown up and taken responsibility for themselves and their decisions, complain about God (or whatever they choose to call Him thinking they have really zinged Him with their childish names and lack of respect or understanding) not stopping the crimes and evil that humans choose to do YET want Him to leave them alone and not make them feel guilty or stop doing something they want to do or which makes them feel good.... though it is wrong and they know it.
That's how little kids respond...... "Daddy help me!!!! Ok, now you can leave me alone! I do what I want now!!" Adults say.... "Take care of the bad stuff, the ugly stuff and make it all good for me. You did it? Great, now go away and leave me alone."
You can't have it both ways. Either it's His way and He tells you what to do each and every day or you have your own choices to make. That is the same for every human on earth. No matter how much you rail against reality & truth it doesn't change those things even a miniscule amount.
You have a problem with crime and hate and ugliness.... face off those people that do that garbage and evil. I hope this opened your eyes and mind to "getting it" even a little bit.
