  • These Sailor fude pens are on the lower end of the Sailor brand pen selection. They come in two designs, the 40 degree and 55 degree nib.
Sailor Fude de Mannon Blue 40 degree bend
Sailor Fude de Mannon Green 55 degree bend

I have both but I prefer the blue (40°) for writing. The feed is too long but the plastic is soft enough so an xacto knife can solve the problem in a few seconds. And I feel that the Canson paper makes everything look dry, smoother papers makes the pen more juicy.
One of the good things I enjoy with these pens is that they're good with shimmering inks (and Jacques Herbin's commercial for their anniversary ink "Kyanite du Népal" featured the green 55° pen).
Also they're very easy to take apart and clean.
And funnily, it's an interesting tool to conquer the fear of being judged by others because of the size of your pen ;)

I wonder if that extra line you are getting is caused by taking the nib/feed out.
Did it do that when new?
Could you install the feed a bit deeper into the body of the pen and allow the nib to be a fraction further out?

I love this pen when I get it going. Makes cool pics. I use a water brush to shade the ink out. Looks ethereal. But sometimes it’s me and my hand movements or the ink flow. Maybe my lack of patience and focus due to low caffeine intake 😂...It doesn’t go so well sometimes.

I have the green one. I'm trying to get use to it but I'm struggling.

Documented Journey It does take some practice because you have to hold the pen very vertical tiger those thin strokes. Have you tried the blue one?

no I have only tried the green. I dislike holding pen straight up and down. but I do need to practice.

Documented Journey The bend in the blue one is a less then the green. Makes it so you don't have to hold the pen as vertical when your writing. If you get the chance to try it out I think it will work better for you. 👍🏾
