You could have. Apparently this tune was reused in another Rare made N64 game called Blast Corps. What are some other examples of Rare reusing their songs?
@@mr.creeper7802 really? could you send a link to the blast corps song? edit: this song was composed by the same person as blast corps (graeme norgate), so it makes sense.
the same music as in marine quarter from blast corps. but i somehow love this version much better. it has nothing to with nostalgia the sound is just unique. there are also a couple of different versions from the legend of zelda links awakening overworld music. but also there i like the game boy version the most. 8-Bit music
Louis Desjardins godjesus thank you, was bugging the shit out of me - "I *know* I've heard this before but I never played DKL in my life, maybe it was a smash bros remix??" (it wasnt)
I pwnd this game when I was like 8 years old... now reading comments like: "this game was hard as shit" really brings a smile on my face. I was hardcore back then :P
@William5000000 Land is actually the fictional sequel to Country they changed alot of the level design and bosses, of course they needed a different game so they could sell it and make more money:)
Thats what I'm talkin 'bout! That get on da flo' & boogie jam.... I hate to admit it, but I love 8-bit beats. This is old school fo' real, tho... Makes you think about all the good times you had with friends. It also brings back how things were simple in them good ol' days, too. Make you wanna pop lock too... even if you dont know how... Smh!

Never heard this before, but this is DAMN good for a gameboy game! Really nice tune. . .
no DAMNS

@@jclkaytwoth-cam.com/video/BQf1inWuYdo/w-d-xo.html Here you are!
I love this more than the SNES version.
Same
Probably because it's the one I grew up with, but i'm in the same boat.
That’s some level of praise
So far as i know there's no SNES version of this game. Although Donkey Kong Country has the same cover picture.
@@svin7987 the snes version of donkey kong land is literally donkey kong country lmao. don't be a smart aleck
(Miss Pauling wants to fight)
(What would soldier do?)
[ ] Fight
[ ] Bag
[ ] Rub meat
[ ✓] Run
(Soldier chooses run)
Soldier: No! I refuse-
(Miss Pauling used neck snap)
*IT'S SUPER EFFECTIVE!*
XDDDDDD
Edit: yes I've seen stblackst
Dang. Went dark.
the best donkey kong boss theme
This is the Guile theme of DK Land: it goes with everything!
over 25 years now but still soooooooooo gooooood. I love grown up on a new aera
NANG Stage 7!
Imo this is MUCH catchier than the Blast Corps version
Rare in its prime! I miss those guys:(
How the heck Gameboy Videogame music can be so freaking catchy is beyond me
Having the right music composer can go a long way I respect video game music Alot because of that
I almost forgot limitations add to it
Nostalgia...

すげぇかっこいい
I would enter a boss fight, pause the game, and then listen to it loop after loop after loop, while waiting for the taxi to school.
Plays this game, cleared until the very end and retired.
*Decade later*
HOLY SHIT, I WANNA PLAY AGAIN!
this song makes everything epic
Like how Guile's theme goes with everything!
懐かしくて嬉しいし泣きたいしあの頃に戻りたいけど戻れなくて辛いし色んな感情が大渋滞!!
How did this song not make it into Super Smash Bros.?!?!?
I have a feeling that the people who made Smash, and Masahiro Sakurai in particular, didn't play a lot of Gameboy games.
Dkl is a spin-off, pretty sure why
Just brings up memories of my 10th birthday getting my Gameboy and this game from mom. May she rest in peace.
Rare recycled this song for the N64 blastcorp. One of my favs, both versions
This was later remixed in Blast Corps as the theme for the "Skerries" Level.
Miss Pauling wants to fight!
[Fight] [Bag]
[Rub Meat] [Run]
[Run] [Run]. N o I refuse!
@@deanzeroextreme8954 Miss Pauling used NECK SNAP! It's super effective!
Some random SMW Rom Hack that i forgot the name brought me here.
oh gosh a dancin` ms palin`
The Land games were the best
DKL3 was better than its snes counterpart in my opinion.
I strongly disagree
I think boss music wise, the land games were better, other than that, nah, not really.
They should've used this in the GBC port of Donkey Kong Country!
Flammie I agree.
The GBC port is just a port of the original Country game, while DKL is a sub-sequel before DKC2

@@fourthknower9831 Neck snap hit!
Heh, check Jade Plateau from Blast Corps and its similar to this :P. Rare reused the melody lol.
Louis Desjardins Graeme Norgate did both soundtracks.
Louis Desjardins It's not similiar. It's exactly the same song, but 4-bit instruments.
Louis Desjardins godjesus thank you, was bugging the shit out of me - "I *know* I've heard this before but I never played DKL in my life, maybe it was a smash bros remix??" (it wasnt)
Very similar. Basically the same song with different instruments and a different mood.
my favorite song in the whole game!
fighting a boss in DKL
fighting the 5 trials in IWBTFG
where ever this music gets used, you just know that shit's gonna get real
I feel like Kevin Lyttles Turn Me On was slightly inspired by this.
Friendship with Donkey Kong Country 1 ended. Now Donkey Kong Land 1 is my friend.
because no one has said this yet.... FLYING PIGS WTH.....
This is the only classic game boy I didn't lose or break(pokemon games that stop saving, not sure if it was my fault) growing up
One of the very best tracks I know.
これもうRockだよね
Banger.
ブラストドーザーのジェイド高原のBGMがこれのアレンジで好き
Omg, I never realized! I thought I heard that somewhere else lol
There's some real banger tunes in this game.
This music is awesome!
K Rool's Acid Punk is the name of this song.
My favorite theme from Blast Corps (Skerries) was just a rehashed DK land theme.
Childhood ruined.
actually makes it better IMO
hands down the best song

I pwnd this game when I was like 8 years old... now reading comments like: "this game was hard as shit" really brings a smile on my face. I was hardcore back then :P
If you put it on 0.75 sounds like a crystal castles song
The only thing I can remember about this game, is that I had to beat a fish on a ship. Am I right?
Oh yeah! HELLS YEAH!
yes, have some good remeber to liquicity playlist.. just epic..
Oh shnap! Bannana Yellow Game Pack Included! I gotta get this game now!
❤ same!
I still have this game but no gameboy to play it on :(
The original blast corps theme reminds me of ride on lawn mowers, so this is... DK riding on lawn mowers running over donkey kong bosses?

Not unless you had a teenage older sibling. My older brother ALWAYS beat me in video games.

This is also the final boss theme.

Yeah, it sounded really good, wonder why they removed it.

Music and gameplay of the snes version is so much better
This is also part of the Blast Corps Soundtrack :D
Is it wrong I like this much better then the song from the consle version?

Better than the country song
I can play the song on piano
