      I think you are trying to break the bond b/w the ring and 2 methyls bringing + charge on the ring side but it is not possible as - charge will be formed on other side and also the +I effect from the 2 methyl will make it more unstable.i hope you will get the correct information.

      The organic rxns generally occur in a relatively nonpolar medium.
      Here the organic substrate is been dissolved in a nonpolar medium like CCl4 or dry ether.
      Now on adding the Bu-Li to the medium (which is predominantly an ionic compound) the reagent will tends to react to give a more stable carbanion as comaperd to itself.
      (Rxn a) *As the resonance stabilised carbanion is more stable than the butyl carbanion* so the rxn will proceed as it is explained in this video.
      In case (b) the rxn between Bu- and the substrate will give a highly unstable anti-aromatic product thus due to ultimate increase in the potential energy of the rxn mixture hence the rxn is NOT feasible.

    Sir.. I have a question.. Bombay 😂 ie b part of 1st problem at 2:23 is itself antiaromatic.. And it will remain antiaromatic after protonation too..before and after protonation condition of bombay is same.. Then why it cant be soluble..

    sir in 3rd question, the eight member ring is never aromatic because of tub shape formation, however plus charge will form but not delocalise.

    Sir I didn't get why BuLi will attack the carbon you mentioned in the solution.
    Why won't it just undergo electrophilic addition by classical carbocation mechanism?How to predict reaction with unknown reagents like this?

      VIDIT LOHIA here there is no electronegative carbon so how can electrophilic reaction may take place in the BuLi problem also BuLi is not a strong electrophile.

      buli is strong nucleophile and very strong base , to get a hint about its reaction you need to figure out it is an organo compound .
