One of the heads of the hospital liaison committee in our area, years ago, had an infant son who was “forced” to have a transfusion. The boy grew up a healthy adult…And his father decided to work hard to prevent other people from getting the same care…so nice.

My daughter nearly died in childbirth as my JW wife refused blood on her behalf - I overruled this and 30 mins later she was awake and smiling - 8 years later my daughter used this in court as NOT respecting her religious beliefs! DIS GUST ING!

I think you nailed it. He set the tone of cruelty for the whole organization, and now he's been dismissed as a leader, but we don't know if it was because of his cruelty, or if it was because he was somehow not in lockstep with the rest of the Governing Body, or if he became a victim of his own cruelty agenda. The whole thing messes with our senses of justice and empathy.

I'll explain why getting baptized is different from getting a drivers license. Dedicating my life to a religion is for life whereas a license is a tool you use to get from here to there. A good answer is to compare it to marriage. I'm ready for a drivers license at 16, I'm not ready to get married.
One of the 1st “sisters ” to give me Bible study was married to an elder. They had 2 living daughters and the youngest, a son, died due to a condition that I’m not sure what it is, however, she did mention that it was due to the refusal of a blood transfusion. Since I was young, naive and very impressionable, I saw this as honorable and as strong faith. Fast forward to when the 2 daughters became legal adults, they bounced, left the org, they held a resentment towards their parents for the negligent death of their younger brother. So sad. Side note, the head of that household and his wife were so kind and luving to their allowed extent, however you can see the heaviness on their soul. I have no idea if the parents left the org also, but really hoping they did.
I know a 40yr old woman who has never had her license and wont drive. She takes the bus. And her sister didnt get her license until she was like 30 something yrs old!

Decades ago, a discussion on blood transfusions was published, I just don't remember the source. The conclusion was that were it not for fear of lawsuits, the blood transfusion prohibition would have been dropped a long time ago. It is true that careful screening of donors and of blood products is prudent, the procedure itself is a lifesaving miracle!

I hardly even could stand watching the summaries on websites of ExJWs. High-end level of "Fremdschämen" i.e. vicarious embarrassment to watch Lett and Morris. And I was thinking to myself what a shame they have to put a voice-over on it for non-English-folk. It waters down the arrogance and hypocrisy if you don't listen to them in their own voices. I know quite a dozen of German JWs of the older generation who , I bet, 100% think once in a while when streaming the broadcast, hey this is not what I signed up for. I was a RP and MS and I was so proud when in the late 90s there was this call at conventions: leave the Watchtower in your bag, take out the Bible, we wanna be known for preaching with the Bibel. And I felt, Fuck yeah (or something similar back then), that's it. Now, they're taking out tablets and painting theri finger nails with a corporate design... I hope that the current events will help more people to wake up and leave this toxic cult behind them. I never regretted I did.

That “contribution” was valid up until around 2013-2016 somewhere in that time I remember being at TMS and the secretary read a letter from the branch stating that the heads of every household is to budget a SET AMOUNT to be withdrawn from your account as contribution per month. It was that meeting i woke up and looked around and was shocked at how many others just nodded and agreed…. Im like uhm what happened to not tithing??

I find Tony’s comment of, “If you are poor” interesting. He didn’t consider himself poor? I thought in order to be in Bethel you had to take a vow of poverty. Guess you can’t be poor if all the donations from everyone else covers your housing, clothing, meals, medical expenses and liquor.
I was thinking, Wally, that even those who did nothing wrong, but were baptized, then realized after growing up and maturing even learning that the watchtower is not a corporation that they can be dictated by, even the watchtower's violent arrangement of 'pay-out-of-pocket-to-be-forced&coerced-to-be-a-slave', that they can not accept to be part of that immoral and unethical way of life, must be removed from their whole tribe and exposed unprotected to what is not an environment familiar to them.

I totally agree with and thank you for your selections but wish you could or would have included his seemingly gleeful description of Armageddon, stating that it would be the greatest slaughter the earth had ever or would ever experience with “bodies stacked like cordwood, burned and split open like hotdogs on a grill”. I believe with all my heart that if I had been present with my children hearing that I would Never have gone back again, maybe it would have saved me more years of servitude to this despicable organization. It’s interesting how the org flip flop so much. I remember that in the 1990s they started saying college was okay, as long as “spiritual needs” were still a priority. In the congregation I was in, new high school graduates and even those in their 20s went to college. It seemed like the mentality was that each person had to make that personal decision. I was disfellowshipped in the 90s and haven’t been to a meeting in years. But it seems like at some point, the org returned to their “no college” stance. I wonder is it because once JWs started thinking critically (as college teaches you to do) they could see through the fallacies and hypocrisy

I already had 3 blood transfusions, the most recent one happening just 2 weeks ago. My blood level was low and I was feeling so weak! Blood is life. Blood is giving. Shame on WT!
So I was raised in from age 3, I escaped at 19. My childhood was horrific in many ways but the one thing Im thankful for is my mom never making me get baptized. All my friends were baptized by 13 or so. And they were all disfellowshipped for things like masterbation or sex(you know normal healthy parts of the human experience) however I was treated like dogshit by everyone. Even after my friends were reenstated and dating secretly, I was dating too. The only difference was that I didnt lie about it. I find it so gross that you get more respect if you're a hypocrite. I especially found it weird that when I left, they announced me as if I were disfellowshipped. So now Im shunned even though I never got baptized.

My father was an assistant Dean at a college and my brothers and I could have gone for FREE! 🤣 But it was frowned upon so all 3 of us just joined the work force instead.... my younger brother and I have left "the truth" but my Mom and older brother are still brainwashed as i call it.... The harm this causes to humanity is endless. These false promises and cruel ideologies lead to conflict, strife and harm. I think you nailed it. He set the tone of cruelty for the whole organization, and now he's been dismissed as a leader, but we don't know if it was because of his cruelty, or if it was because he was somehow not in lockstep with the rest of the Governing Body, or if he became a victim of his own cruelty agenda.

I watched a video of an activist that said that Anthony Morris daughters in law reported him to the GB about his drinking problem, and that was one of the reasons he was removed from the GB
I'll explain why getting baptized is different from getting a drivers license. Dedicating my life to a religion is for life whereas a license is a tool you use to get from here to there. A good answer is to compare it to marriage. I'm ready for a drivers license at 16, I'm not ready to get married.

One of the 1st “sisters ” to give me Bible study was married to an elder. They had 2 living daughters and the youngest, a son, died due to a condition that I’m not sure what it is, however, she did mention that it was due to the refusal of a blood transfusion. Since I was young, naive and very impressionable, I saw this as honorable and as strong faith.
Fast forward to when the 2 daughters became legal adults, they bounced, left the org, they held a resentment towards their parents for the negligent death of their younger brother. So sad. Side note, the head of that household and his wife were so kind and luving to their allowed extent, however you can see the heaviness on their soul. I have no idea if the parents left the org also, but really hoping they did.
I have a niece that still does not drive in her twenties, because she refused to be baptized. She made the correct choice.
I know a 40yr old woman who has never had her license and wont drive. She takes the bus. And her sister didnt get her license until she was like 30 something yrs old!

Decades ago, a discussion on blood transfusions was published, I just don't remember the source. The conclusion was that were it not for fear of lawsuits, the blood transfusion prohibition would have been dropped a long time ago. It is true that careful screening of donors and of blood products is prudent, the procedure itself is a lifesaving miracle!
Thanks for summing it up, you found the right words for the mixed feelings we all have when talking about the impact the GB had/has on millions of people. I woke up and left in 2009 right before the JWs turned into a media company. In the years after I mostely couldn't believe what happened to the "organisation". I hardly even could stand watching the summaries on websites of ExJWs. High-end level of "Fremdschämen" i.e. vicarious embarrassment to watch Lett and Morris. And I was thinking to myself what a shame they have to put a voice-over on it for non-English-folk. It waters down the arrogance and hypocrisy if you don't listen to them in their own voices. I know quite a dozen of German JWs of the older generation who , I bet, 100% think once in a while when streaming the broadcast, hey this is not what I signed up for. I was a RP and MS and I was so proud when in the late 90s there was this call at conventions: leave the Watchtower in your bag, take out the Bible, we wanna be known for preaching with the Bibel. And I felt, Fuck yeah (or something similar back then), that's it. Now, they're taking out tablets and painting theri finger nails with a corporate design... I hope that the current events will help more people to wake up and leave this toxic cult behind them. I never regretted I did.

That “contribution” was valid up until around 2013-2016 somewhere in that time I remember being at TMS and the secretary read a letter from the branch stating that the heads of every household is to budget a SET AMOUNT to be withdrawn from your account as contribution per month. They are waking up. Watchtower always puts their members in a very compromising situation. This leaves JWS very conflicted and defensive. The upcoming protest will be really powerful and wake many JWS up.

I find Tony’s comment of, “If you are poor” interesting. He didn’t consider himself poor? I thought in order to be in Bethel you had to take a vow of poverty. Guess you can’t be poor if all the donations from everyone else covers your housing, clothing, meals, medical expenses and liquor.
I was thinking, Wally, that even those who did nothing wrong, but were baptized, then realized after growing up and maturing even learning that the watchtower is not a corporation that they can be dictated by, even the watchtower's violent arrangement of 'pay-out-of-pocket-to-be-forced&coerced-to-be-a-slave', that they can not accept to be part of that immoral and unethical way of life, must be removed from their whole tribe and exposed unprotected to what is not an environment familiar to them.

It’s interesting how the org flip flop so much. I remember that in the 1990s they started saying college was okay, as long as “spiritual needs” were still a priority. In the congregation I was in, new high school graduates and even those in their 20s went to college. It seemed like the mentality was that each person had to make that personal decision. I was disfellowshipped in the 90s and haven’t been to a meeting in years. But it seems like at some point, the org returned to their “no college” stance. I wonder is it because once JWs started thinking critically (as college teaches you to do) they could see through the fallacies and hypocrisy

Because of the rare occurrence of this happening with the WT , and since GB members are appointed for life , the society cannot expect this announcement to just be declared and not have the title wave effect of a tsunami , of speculative talk [ or in reality gossip ] to spread like wildfire . So I was raised in from age 3, I escaped at 19. My childhood was horrific in many ways but the one thing Im thankful for is my mom never making me get baptized. All my friends were baptized by 13 or so. And they were all disfellowshipped for things like masterbation or sex(you know normal healthy parts of the human experience) however I was treated like dogshit by everyone. Even after my friends were reenstated and dating secretly, I was dating too. The only difference was that I didnt lie about it. I find it so gross that you get more respect if you're a hypocrite.
I especially found it weird that when I left, they announced me as if I were disfellowshipped. So now Im shunned even though I never got baptized.

Another excellent video!! I was a born in JW with 2 brothers also born in... My Mom raised us as JWs even though our father never became one of JWs. My father was an assistant Dean at a college and my brothers and I could have gone for FREE! 🤣 But it was frowned upon so all 3 of us just joined the work force instead.... my younger brother and I have left "the truth" but my Mom and older brother are still brainwashed as i call it.... I wanna ask them so badly about Tony Morris but I choose for now just to leave it alone. Lol

I honestly appreciate your efforts in highlighting the vulgarity of this so called religion. Appointing oneself as god's representative on earth is a common trope amongst religious groups. The harm this causes to humanity is endless. These false promises and cruel ideologies lead to conflict, strife and harm. I can only hope that your words help reduce the influence of the Governing Body. One step at a time, brick by brick, let religion be dismantled and exposed for its lies.
