School gym class was the best class in school and if you disagree, you're wrong. Today we're going to be reminiscing on gym class from elementary school all the way up to high school. and I'll tell some of my personal experiences and stories that occurred during my time in gym class.

I’m Canadian and sometimes in my school in October or November we would have this gym activity called the terry fox run. Basically it was to get the entire school to run around our field and the worst part was that our field was GIGANTIC

The locker room before and after gym class was always out of pocket. Kids yelling, bumping music, shooting the breeze and overall mayhem was the best.

The only thing you forgot to mention that is a constant in every grade is the fitness gram pacer test. This test was the perfect way to put all the crazy tryhards with each other, and they would always be the last ones to finish.

The Fitness gram pacer test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues.
The 20 meter test will begin in thirty seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each time you hear this signal. a single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound.
Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over.
The test will begin on the word start.
On your mark, get ready, start.

I like only did that in 4th grade and other test stuff like mile run and jumping n shit in middle school like 5-6 grade
I am bad at pacer tests bc only my fastest speed can get me to the other side, and it speed up every 7 laps.
I remember back in elementary we would get the scooters, but unlike most people the entire school population of students decided to make them into little vehicles. We would always take a jump rope, tie it to the scooter, then have someone pull the scooter with someone on it. Everyone soon figured out that you can connect them, so we ended up make trains with it. The poor people pushing them were probably tired being like 8 and pushing the entire class alone. The bad part about it though was that it was very easy to get hurt on it. I don’t know how young me did it, but every single second I would get hurt on them and then just shrug it off. I guess I know why my gym teacher only let of have free time once a month-

One thing I have to mention about gym class is that the locker rooms smelled like old, rotting sewer dump after we do that, some people even brought pegs to school so that they could put it on their noses when they get changed 😂

i have some really fond (and recent) memories of the rolly boards. I used to put 2 next to eachother, lay down on them (back and head), and then use my legs to go really, *really* fast. However, view and turning was limited with this setup.
I played this game called "doctors and soldiers" where there were 2 teams and 2 classes, doctors, and soldiers. The soldiers would basically play dodgeball, if one got hit they needed to sit down, they could only get back up by getting touched by a doctor, the doctor couldn't throw anything, and if they got hit once, they became a soldier. The first team to get rid of the other teams doctors won.

Bro, I feel your pain with having gym class very early in the morning. All throughout middle school, my gym classes were very early, 2nd period in 7th grade and 1st period for 8th, however with a time change in 8th grade where classes started 30 minutes later than the previous year, they were both at around the same time, which absolutely SUCKED during the winter because we would be outside with a temperature of 34F, especially if it was raining that morning. Besides, everyone who had gym later in the day asking what we were doing in gym everyday was getting SO annoying...

I’m sorry mate but I could not live in these gym conditions. Have you tried to get him fired or anything cuz the way he acts towards females and other races is astounding.
School gym used to be fun for me from kindergarten to 5th grade but when middle school came I slowly lost interest in gym and when high school came around I just stopped caring about gym all together but I managed to pass with a C at the end of my 12th grade year.
Bruh I remember back in elementary school I’d always fail gym class. Like I’ve never been really good at sports, and when I have gym, and we’re doing like basketball, or any running sport, I’d instantly be sweating, especially on a hot day. I don’t know how my classmates would not get exhausted but somehow they didn’t. The only ones I could ever do was running around the track, sit-ups and pushups.

10-year-old me was ABSOLUTELY into this kind of stuff. I dunno why, but I was. 10 years later and the scooters were one of my BEST memories of elementary school gym class. Too bad middle school sucked.
Edit: Oh, my. The parachute. I was IN LOVE with it as well. Everything I could get my hands on, I loved. That was basically elementary school for me.
For people who went to a british primary school, id like to flex the fact that those climbing things were used TWICE in my entire 7 years there. Also, one time i had my period in swimming class and we had a male teacher and they said i had to participate still but my normal teacher said no. thanks miss tweed!

One time in grade four we were playing chair ball and I was finding my place to get ready then out of nowhere the ball hit my face and I got to sit for the rest of the class
Must be lucky to not have to do the beep test in elementary, middle, and high school. Also it wasn't that bad because we could quit whenever we felt tired
I have gym 2nd period this year, and how it felt to be in there varied depending on what was really going on. The locker rooms were chaos, some random groups of boys would just toy around with the equipment that just lies around once we got there, and some of the activities were not that good. Others though, like what one of the teachers calls "four-court volleyball", are absolutely dope.
For those of you who are wondering what four-court volleyball is, well, as the name suggests, there is four courts and four teams, the teams being the three classes, plus a bandit team that was a conglomerate of random students from each of said three classes. Your team had to keep the ball off the ground, because if it landed within your court, your team gets a point. And if you got a certain number of points, your team was out. But, if your team hits the ball into the court of a team that already got out, your team gets a point for that as well. The last team standing wins, and if the game seemed to be getting to easy, a SECOND ball would be thrown in (if it wasn't thrown in from the start), which made the game way harder.
Back in 7th grade, I was the king of swimming in my gym class. And at the last swimming test, I completed that shit easy and yelled "Tell'em to bring out the whole ocean!"

Popped my knee out playing badminton junior year of high school. Worst part is the distance from the gym to the nurses office is all the way across the school. So I was being wheeled down the main hallway of the whole school during the heat of passing period. If that wasn’t already embarrassing enough, it was first period which is the biggest gym period of the day. Had to wear a full leg soft cast for a couple weeks and had ppl staring at me left and right. Badminton is still my favorite sport tho lol

So the dodgeballs are used a lot, so they will have a bit of damage. Some kids (including me) would for some reason just peel the skin off the dodgeballs if we were out of the game and bored and the foam would loosen and I’d just rip it out without thinking at all

I'm 17 now and for P.E we had to run a 4km track for a test and most people didn't even pass. We also to train for like 5 weeks.
