Did this route this morning, loved it. That descend down the side of Blackley Hey to Rowlee Bridge is just crazy, hats off to you, you went down quicker than I did!
Good job mate if you’d of turned right at the fork coming down cut throat towards the end you would of had that last descent and come out in pub car park. Great vid I love it up there back myself again Monday
Lee Connor MTB , thanks mate, ah , I’ll have to do that last descent to car park next time, my mate did say about forking off right but wasn’t sure where it ended up, have fun on Monday, weather is supposed to be scorching 👍🏻😁
Another awesome peaks route, countryside is awesome and I'm not just referring to the panoramic shots u do of the vistas over the hills, the downhill paths through the forest/wooded areas looks real picturesque too, and god damn some of the rocks look bloody evil lol, really good ride, keep it up 👍
Dude. Outstanding... literally awesome. A friend & I have just been contemplating traveling up to do this, you’ve confirmed and assured me that this is absolutely worth doing. Thanks for sharing dude
Thanks mate, I really appreciate you saying that, it’s one of the best locations in the peaks, I hope you have a great day up there when you go, I do have a more up to date video of this loop filmed last year on the chin cam, that one is worth a watch too 👍🏻👍🏻
Just Another Noob At , nice to have you back mate, there’s some good rides I’ve done recently, my favourites are this, Cannock slippery when wet, delamere redemption, eyam, gradbach and Buxton, there are some other good ones too but there my personal favourites, thanks for your support 😁👍🏻👍🏻
"i felt like superman & now i feel like banana man" hahaha great video gib i was gutted for you when i realised your tire had gone, but you remained positive and just cracked back on. Great stuff
401 Files , haha, thanks mate, my favourite ride so far I think, so glad my tire was ok, thanks for watching, really appreciate your comments and support , positive energy 😁👍🏻
Hi mate do you have a postcode or anything for the start point or a gpx done this ride as a kid and for the life of me can’t remember how to get back on to this trail. Cheers
Hope Valley S33 0AX is the post code for Ladybower inn, the car park is free as long as you use the pub and give them your Reg number, there are other free parking near by. There’s a link to my Strava on my most recent video description, I can send you the link if necessary 👍🏻
Love that route , classic after classic and you picked the day to do it. Though I tend to avoid the climb up from ladybower to Whinstone Lee Toe as it's a pain 😄. Great work done on the trail on the lower part of the run down to cutthroat bridge near the end, always used to be a complete bogfest.. Rode up there a couple of weeks ago when the lads were finishing the last section. Lockerbrook descent to Derwent is always an absolute blast. Potato alley just needs a few less potatoes in the middle section catch 'em wrong and you are a passenger! Bad break on the pinch. I would recommend tubeless. 👍
jnadin39 , it was awesome mate, couldn’t fault the weather, the trails were as dry as I’ve ever known, was gutted with the pinch flat as it took all the momentum out of it from there. Tubeless is definitely the way forward I think, thanks mate, glad you liked it, appreciated 😁👍🏻
TheGib74 Tubeless is great, but you still need to carry a tube just in case you get a hole that the sealant can't fill. tubeless allows you to run lower pressures and prevent the Wheel from bouncing around quite so much, but you don't want to run the pressure so low that you bend your rims. I don't know how common Thorns are where you are, but for us in San Diego, they can be common and tire sealants are critical. perhaps you are already running sealant, but inside a tube? I did so for a long time, but I started running tubeless 2 years ago. I've not had a single flat during a ride yet! I started running this tire pressure for the sandy stuff and it's also good for very Rocky Terrain. I run the Maxxis DHF & DHR tires.
biketothetop,I also run the maxxis DHF & DHR, not tubeless yet but the tires are tubeless ready, just need a converter kit for the rims, definately something i'm looking to do but these tires have been great so far with this being my first puncture in a year, so not too concerned just yet, no sealant, just inner tube at the moment, thanks for the comment mate :)
Awwww man what decend that was untill the pinch flat.! You thought about going tubless?? Drop the tyre pressure mate n its all good.! Been tubeless three years n never had a pinch flat n I weigh 20st.! Mega vid dude wish I was riding with ya 😎👊🏻😎👊🏻
Those are some of my favourite descents, love the Peak District! Nice riding, I have some vids of those descents on my channel - yours are much better presented than mine!
Great video with a wide variety of scenery and terrain. I enjoyed all of it and the expansive views of the countryside. It's nice I now have my own tour guide for the parts of the UK I may not see otherwise. Some of those Trails were very Rocky and I'm sure they were shaking the crap out of you! Again, it's nice to get the historical perspective... on the World War II aspects at the lake. I'm glad to see you finally got to ride in some sunshine and dry Trails for the most part. Did you mean to say you bent your brake rotor (i.e. the caliper is the part that squeezes the rotor) from a rock when you pinch flatted? I'm curious what the temperature is that you keep saying is roasting?
i squashed the metal caliper that holds the pads when placing the wheel back in, so had to straighten it out as it was catching the rotor. These trails were the best trails i've ridden so far i think, probably helped by the nice sunshine & dry trails, extremely rocky but lots of fun, the best and most draining of the trails was the one i played a cinematic soundtrack to all the way down, my hands and wrists wanted to drop off by the end lol, i had the audio problem again and it failed to capture the sound but this descent was just too good to leave out, i've since replaced the gopro back at the shop for a straight swap, no questions asked, they just swapped it so hopefully that's the end of that problem, the temperatures was about 25 degrees c, very hot day for the uk, thanks mate, appreciate the comment and i'm really pleased you liked the vid :)
14:19 I am huge WWII buff and have seen documentaries as well as movies about this bomb raid over Germany, Thanks Gib! Oh and the chunky descents are top notch!
Watty Legend! , thanks mate, really glad you like it, I’m pleased you appreciated the history of the dam, The trails were awesome, I had lots of fun that day, thanks for watching 👍🏻😁
It's an awesome ride mate, you will love it, i'm going back myself in a few weeks, we started and finished at the ladybower inn, there's a car park opposite, i can't really remember the exact route to be honest, my mate had it marked out on his map and i just followed haha, i usually would have my strava running but forgot for this one, sorry i can't be more helpful, thanks for watching :)
Ok, more dry trails and blue skies? I don't think you're in the U.K. anymore. You go down to Spain or Southern France? So, you've had those Maxxis tires for a bit now and you have been riding on roads. How are they wearing? Especially the DHR?
Staying Active R A Warrior , I wondered if I was in the uk myself last few days lol, the tires are doing really good, loads of tread left on them still, should last me until the end of the year I think, loving the weather, such a change from what I’m used to, thanks mate, appreciate the comment 👍🏻😁
(I reply to every comment) Thanks for all your support guys, it's really appreciated 🙏 Don't forget to subscribe and hit the bell icon 👍
