Just changed cv axles on my B16 SpecV. Easy enough. Topping off the frickin’ trans fluid though was way harder than you’d want it to be though!

@@markernest2254 next time you change axles only lift the side of the car your working on in that moment. All the trans fluid will shift over to the other side of the transmission so you don’t loose any.

I still drive my 04 Sentra Spec V and I've done everything under the hood myself. I've never needed more than hand tools and a bit of time to do anything on it (from radiator swap, lightweight crank pulley, exhaust header, cat-back exhaust system, cam and crank sensors, alternator replacement, motor mounts, throttle body spacer, etc). I stand by it being one of the easiest cars to repair, second only to maybe the mid-90s/early 2000s era Honda Civics.

Since I'm a Nissan guy going back to the 90's I'm going with Sentra's. they are easy to work on with the most consumable parts you mentioned in the vid. For example to change the spark plugs in an STI will take you about 30mins to an hr pending your tools and experience removing parts out of the way like the secondary air pump on the drivers side just to get to 2 plugs on that side of the motor, compared to 2-3mins max on the NIssan

Would you recommend I budget turbo my 05 sentra 1.8S? I'm in Ghana. I bought it for 400 bugs. Strong engine with a faulty gearbox that slips from second to 3rd gear mostly. I have added at least 400 km to the mileage since I bought. I will be fitting a manual gearbox by the end of the year. My plan is to spend an extra $400 to put it in the perfect driving position while spending an extra 1k to modify it with a budget build. Do you think I can make 200hp on it?

@@swugjay7189 200hp is a pretty good jump up for the 1.8, but on the other hand 200hp isn’t all that much hp for the amount of work and expense. If you can scavenge parts and fab a lot of it yourself, and you want a fun project, go for it. You can set out to enjoy the process regardless of the hp result. If your desired goal really is to have a fast car, well, maybe this isn’t the best use of the time and money.

@markernest2254 oh okay. I want to use it as a first turbo build on a budget. So I'm planning on doing a lot of fabrication as some of the parts are very cheap to source in my country. Here in Ghana, a 2015 Corolla would set me back at least $7500, and i still won't have 200hp on the road. So, spending $2000 to $2500 to get anything 200hp sounds like a good deal and a learning process. What do you think?

Turbo is not cheap or easy. There is a lot of small stuff needed that adds up. I don’t recommend if it’s a daily driver. If it’s a side project car then go for it and have fun.
