I'm just now realizing just how hard it is to see Springtrap in fnaf 3. William being smart by being sneaky.(But also just taunting the night guard/Michael by staring at the camera)
The way Springtrap behaves is probably my favourite thing in the game. His movements are far more thought out then any animatronic we had seen so far. He was definitely avoiding the camera.
@@anothermiddleschoolburnout8816 you’re right, it’s like he knows what he’s doing but the others don’t, they are just not as sneaky as him and they’re not even trying.
What I love about FNAF 1 is how the graphics/renders make everything look like a actual pizzeria that could exist in real life, minus the moving child possessed animatronics of course.
I feel like they achieved that by not directly lighting the animatronics. Making us imagine half of their sillouetes in that darkness and making them stand in pretty distorted poses. For example at 1:53 back in 2015 when I'd watch fnaf playthroughs I don't think I've ever known how to look at foxy :'D My vision deceived me all this time to not know what am I seeing exactly but to know someone is there. Static obscuring the imperfections is a staple in analog horror for good reason. The game also benefits from the Myst effect, if budget and time is equal, real time graphics will pretty much always lose out to prerendered when it comes to fidelity, at the cost of having less dynamic scenes/movement.
I love how Springtrap embodies everything that a killer would do. Very sneaky, stalking you almost, and most importantly is his ability to hide well from cameras like a child killer in a pizzeria would probably know how to do. Really well made.
One of the reasons why I love these games is because they have a sort of photo realism that makes it feel like your in an actual pizzeria. Except for the newer releases, like security breach, which has a more cartoon aesthetic. The older games have more realism, although you aren't moving around much, it still feels like you're actually there. This is why so many people want to see a movie because these characters look like they can exist in real life.

The animations for the rooms on the side make him look like he's being yoinked like not just grabbed or any other word. "Yoinked" describes it perfectly.
1:33 was a screen that absolutely terrified me as a kid. I kinda expected to have outgrown the fear factor of FNAF 1 now that I'm an adult, but no, it still freaks me out. Cool to see that the game still holds up after all this time :)
That's a sign that Scott peaked with FNAF 1, as well as 2 and 3 in my opinion. I have nothing against the rest of the games in the Cawthon era, but the original trilogy is the best horror and lore wise. Extremely disappointed with what Steel Wool turned this franchise into. Even the Ruin DLC wasn't that great imo.
There’s an edit of that image with the eyes and it’s somehow even scarier than the one without. I remember when I first saw it. It was in the dark, at like 11, when I was by myself in the room. I wasn’t l the only one home or awake, but it was still scary as shit to see that. Thank god I was laying in bed and not standing in the middle of the room or someshit.
@@mr.coffee5220Just saw the image and wow. It looks kind of uncannily creepy, i think the eyes are not properly shaped with the perspective of the shotm I do think some people will find it kind of goofy though
mangle is pretty clearly just plastered on in fnaf 2, I guess Scott forgot to render him in those rooms and just slapped her on the empty room renders instead
Yeah it looks super jarring and out of place even with the static. Feels like it was a last minute decision to have them appear on more camera locations
Almost every surface that would have a reflection actually does. That's great detail. Also the way that light bounces off things so seamlessly. Scott really dipped hard into uncanny valley.
At 2:43, For the longest time of me playing FNAF, I've never ever noticed the rules sign on the wall changing every single time with different news articles about the 5 children that went missing and such etc. Very interesting...definitely adds to the lore of course, but I just never noticed it at all until I saw this video
Your all wrong besides one guy Its just in the trailer People have searched the files back to back and never found the image And we know it wasnt removed since people searched even the week the game came out Its probably just a mandela effect yall are having
While the third game may not have been that great, there was something eerily human and extra creepy about how afton looked and moved. This wasn't a possessed robot. It was a psycho sneaking around and wanting to harm you.
*_"MICHAEL, MICHAEL, YOU KNOW YOU WILL BE PUNISHED. I TOLD YOU TO TURN OFF ALL THE LIGHTS BEFORE WE WENT TO FREDBEAR'S. YOU LEFT THEM ON. I AM COMING FOR YOU"_*
*_"MICHAEL IM SORRY! PLEASE LET ME IN MICHAEL PLEASE. I KNOW YOU DIDN'T MEAN TO LEAVE THE LIGHTS ON. PLEASE LET ME IN YOUR ROOM MICHAEL. MICHAEL, DON'T LEAVE ME HERE (coughs while burning) MICHAEL...MICHAAAAAAAAEEEEEL!!!
4:58 I can see this scene playing. Chica and Mangle: Just talking Chica: Leaves. Leaving Mangle to just sit there making noise Bonnie: "Bruh wtf I'm trying to sleep in here" Mangle: Leaves Bonnie: Going back inside to sleep Freddy: "Damn. That was the wrong bathroom"
You never get to appreciate how detailed and unsettling these renders are, until you look at them alone. Scott is actually amazing at character design and rendering, and keep in mind, for a long time, he did it on his own!
With the static and all, it all feels so Clay but without the static. It feels as if all that was actually happening, and that Scott was just posing everyone with strings
The trick Scott used was to render every thing as images/gif. The first few game of the series are really just videos with interactive parts, and since technicaly no 3d is utilised by the game when you're running it, Scott was able to go crazy on the models design and map making details
Sister location is the most disturbing place imo. The feelings of that game are like a mix of long term agony and desperation. It's as if every thing, from the animatronics to the people who were there and even the small robots/AI have been tortured endlessly and the Player is their ultimate ticket out. Even the music in that game feels like a plan being hatched rather than creating a sense of fear. It's dark and moody, and really gives the impression of a place filled with misery that is finally being escaped. I also really like the unrelenting feeling of UCN. It feels like total hell with no end. The music sounds somber and hopeless, like being trapped with no way out. Yet it's exactly what the protag deserves, so it's hard to feel bad.
Canonically, that's what the sister location was intended to be. It was where Afton put his family, or just ones he didn't like. It was supposed to be a Hell of his creation. He sent Michael there specifically to kill him.
Most likely because mangle has the most detail out of all the animatronics. Scott probably didn't want to account for all the lighting and instead made a png.
i think the biggest reason why FNAF 4’s halloween update was so big was because lore started becoming more interesting and we found out that Nightmare Balloon Boy was canon to the lore
i love how springtrap is being smart but is also making his intentions clear. he's not playing around, he's coming for you. he wants you to know he's going to kill you.
Funny how i barely see one talk about this but the graphics/art of the series is just amazingly detailed as heck like in 10:48 Springtrap is so detailed for a 2015 game (i mean i know there are games that are also heavily detailed that time but still, Scott really paid attention to designs and details)
that's because it's not rendered in real time, like fnaf vr and security breach. this means that scott can add as much detail as possible without it being laggy or losing graphical detail
I was just about to comment the same thing. This series is terrifying, but seeing two actual human beings hung by the Funtime animatronics is definitely incredibly disturbing.
I still personally think that yes it’s the most disturbing thing we’ve seen on camera, there’s much worse to hear and know about that I still imagine to this day.
You get to step on their blood when walking back from parts and service, it makes a squelch noise. This means that they were killed before they were hung
What I love about FNAF 1 is the feeling you get that the whole pizzeria is under the influence of the ghosts. It feels grimy, unpolished, dirty, and there's always dark corners where the animatronics aren't afraid to go in, kind of taunting you to be looking into them. It's kind of like what the books say "the pizzeria belonged to them". The place is their little playground, where you don't know anything about it, but they do, playing their twisted game with you. Something that I miss in a lot of the Fan Games and even the newer official games is that the animatronics do creepy stuff in general. They look straight at you from the cameras, they hide in the corners, and you just catch a glimpse at them.
The cameras have almost diminished roles as the series goes on and you eventually only use a few of them for specific reasons (Freddy in fnaf1, puppet in FNAF2, hovering one cam in Fnaf3) and for other games you don't use them at all. It's so interesting to see the many set pieces that Scott created. The atmosphere is haunting and with the lighting and reflections and other uses of environment, Scott makes it feel real. There's an overwhelming feeling of loneliness, yet you're very much not alone in these places.
1:48 when i was younger, back in like 2014. i always thought that foxy’s cage was a curtain and behind it was a window that he was opening to get inside the restaurant LOL!
Withered Chica is honestly the most terrifying thing in the series. Like what the actual *fuck* happened to her mouth. And she's just so *dominant* with that constant T-posing.
I love how in fnaf 1 freddy just stares at the camera when hes alone on the stage. "Yeah I know you're there but you're so insignificant to me that I'm just gonna watch the others kill you."
20:48 minirina's just phase out of reality also didnt know fnaf sl had so many rare screens like the one with the biddybabs and minirinas in the living room really bringing in the sentiment that you were never safe
i never got the 1:29 in game tho, i played FNAF 1 like 100 times already, and i never got that rare screen, i always get Bonnie with dark eyes staring at my camera in that room
I remember when the first game came out and the animatronics and environment wefe really creepy to me. I think it's mostly because the game does look like it hopped straight out of the late 80s/90s. Older games tend to make me feel creeped out sometimes, so FNAF1 was extra creepy to me. Even to this day, the way the animatronics look and the overall atmosphere of the game is very creepy, yet impressive.
this just reminded me how much the first game NAILS the creepy run-down pizzeria at night atmosphere, while presenting an intriguing narrative for those who look hard enough. it's something the series never recaptured in my opinion. can't wait for fnaf+
1:35 I was playing Fnaf 1 when I was little and I was extremely scared when Bonnie came to this camera. Imagine you are 7 years old and you look at Camera 4 and Bonnie says hello.
I love how human Afton is in fnaf 3 it makes me feel as if he is being deliberate in his every move and how he want Michael to feel tormented and in a sorrow of doom knowing his psychotic dad is going to kill him and that he won't regret it. And it is also terrifying that he looks in the camera to try and taunt Michael or try to make him fight the hulking beast his father
I think it’s their violent shaking and uncanny movement, and you only see them for a second. To me most of the of the other games’ jumpscares don’t feel the same cause they’re either onscreen for too long (FNAF 6, UCN) or don’t have enough movement (FNAF 2, FNAF 3).
@@cordyceps7531 I mean Golden Freddy's jumpscare is literally a distorted picture of Golden Freddy, and it's still pretty startling and frightening, I'm pretty sure its because of the louder noise then the other's and the unsettling image that just pops up suddenly.
FNAF 1 also shows the "afterwards" of losing, with a pair of eyeballs popping out of a suit. The game is clear about what the consequences for failure are, which never quite gets met in the other games v
FNAF 1 & 2 are the scariest parts because it's way more focus on tension and ambience. Also, you need to check the cameras and doing tasks (for FNAF 2) while to make sure no animatronics come to get you. FNAF 3 is meh because only Springtrap who can jumpscare you and there's no a lot of things to do. FNAF 4 is more like survival because we have to check every corners to stay alive. FNAF 5 a.k.a Sister Location is trying too hard to be scary and I can't take the animatronics too seriously after see how goofy they are. FNAF 2's animatronics are also goofy (except withered versions of Originals) but not as goofy as FNAF 5's animatronics. FNAF 6 should be the end of the franchise. The ending is perfect. Henry dies alongside with his daughter, Charlotte a.k.a The Puppet who is inside Lefty and then his enemies, William a.k.a Springtrap, Elizabeth a.k.a Baby and I don't know who possessed Funtime Freddy and don't forget Michael who should died at Sister Location. Michael finally rest in peace (maybe because there's a theory he possesed Glamrock Freddy) and he's finally not feeling guilty anymore for his brother died, Crying Child in FNAF 4 and he's not feeling the burden of losing his siblings and also get away from his psycho dad. UCN is just a filler game because it's just old Willy getting tormented by his creations. And yes, I don't count Help Wanted and Security Breach as the other sequels because they're just keep milking it.
I'm just now realizing just how hard it is to see Springtrap in fnaf 3. William being smart by being sneaky.(But also just taunting the night guard/Michael by staring at the camera)

Scott had nightmares of Bonnie
There’s an edit of that image with the eyes and it’s somehow even scarier than the one without. I remember when I first saw it. It was in the dark, at like 11, when I was by myself in the room.

@@slimewizard7350Well, the dude is the counterpart of the Puppet who is often depicted as giving life, so he is probably death itself.

15:35 might be the most disturbing thing in fnaf
I was just about to comment the same thing. This series is terrifying, but seeing two actual human beings hung by the Funtime animatronics is definitely incredibly disturbing.
I still personally think that yes it’s the most disturbing thing we’ve seen on camera, there’s much worse to hear and know about that I still imagine to this day.
You get to step on their blood when walking back from parts and service, it makes a squelch noise. This means that they were killed before they were hung
Considering its the first time you see an actual human not in a minigame
Soo Like Fnaf 3 ?
4:10 that crack in audio quality scared me when RXQ appeared in the office
Fitting
The cameras have almost diminished roles as the series goes on and you eventually only use a few of them for specific reasons (Freddy in fnaf1, puppet in FNAF2, hovering one cam in Fnaf3) and for other games you don't use them at all. It's so interesting to see the many set pieces that Scott created. The atmosphere is haunting and with the lighting and reflections and other uses of environment, Scott makes it feel real. There's an overwhelming feeling of loneliness, yet you're very much not alone in these places.

Thanks for showcasing these! It’s the little things that count :)
No problem!
Why do I feel like the FNAF 1 jumpscares feel more intense than the others
I think it’s their violent shaking and uncanny movement, and you only see them for a second.
To me most of the of the other games’ jumpscares don’t feel the same cause they’re either onscreen for too long (FNAF 6, UCN) or don’t have enough movement (FNAF 2, FNAF 3).
@@cordyceps7531 I mean Golden Freddy's jumpscare is literally a distorted picture of Golden Freddy, and it's still pretty startling and frightening, I'm pretty sure its because of the louder noise then the other's and the unsettling image that just pops up suddenly.
@@Mothza-z8j yea and the buildup to his encounter doesn’t help the fact bc you’re worried ab the other animatronics
8:48 this is a given fact, if spring trap in this room night 4 onwards, the puppet phantom will never spawn. since she is annoying
