Many Magic: The Gathering players ask the question, what are the best online tools for Magic The Gathering?
Like an opening hand in Magic, presented here are 7 of the best websites to aide you as a Magic: The Gathering player.
    Please Note:
    1. This video will focus on online resources that function as TOOLS for you as a player. Thus, websites that primarily host articles about Magic: The Gathering are not a part of this list, and I will focus instead on sites that offer an online resource or function of extreme value.
    2. These 7 websites offer very distinct and different tools for things from competitive standard gameplay to casual commander, thus, I do not feel any one is superior to the other. This is a collection of 7 websites, but they all function and fulfill distinctly different needs. The order they are presented in is completely random and irrelevant. All are excellent.

Apologies for being late! I got super sick with strep throat and had to take a few sick days. Feeling better now and really excited to share these websites with you! Would you like to see a video like this looking at phone apps? Let me know in replies what YOUR favorite MTG app is and why and I'll check it out for an upcoming video!

I'm still surprised at how popular MTG has become, relatively speaking. I recall when I would mention it to people (early 2000s) and they had no idea what MTG was. Now, more and more people recognize it, it's pretty amazing. I'm also amazed at how much this channel has grown. Well done, Professor. Do go forth, and continue to spread the mighty message, of Magic. Hello, to my Magic friends.

I can half way agree with you there. Late 90s I bought most KFC the cards because I was trying to better my ability for art. Just two years ago my cousin pulled me into the game by saying I should try actually playing the game. So I did and right away I was hooked

Hey Prof. The app I personally use is 5 Color Combo. It allows you to draft every set from Guilds of Ravnica to the original Modern Masters. There are also a few cube options and a pretty good card searcher. You can make your own decks with the help from the card searcher and get feedback from them. That's what I personally use, but the websites you mentioned were very cool to me. See you soon and keep making great vids.

I'd recommend Cockatrice, especially for draft and sealed players. Its an online app for gameplay that allows you to build and use any type of deck. There are also rooms in which drafters gather, and use another tool, dr4ft, to perform the drafting process online, and download compatible decklists to Cockatrice to play with.

Nice video, I personnally used mtgfamiliar on my cell phone, tappedout for all the stats and everything and when I want to playtest my deck I used cockatrice. What I like about cockatrice is that I can playtest my deck easier than with tappedout since we play with real deck and real person, it is free, it is still easy to learn (once you understand it is right click than make the move and know some keyword to make it faster)

I recently rebuilt a deck that held a special place in my heart. Olivia Voldaren was my first commander deck. In it's original incarnation, it was terrible, my mana curve was all over the place, it had too many basic lands, the cards didn't synergize well, and it was a fine example of a "first attempt". However, when I rebuilt it, I used EDHREC, I was able to build the deck, check the mana curve, see what I should cut, what I shouldn't, and have a good idea of how the deck would run before I ordered a card. In the end, my Olivia deck is a fun, efficient deck that won against 5 other players on it's first outing by casting exsanguinate for 35.
