You know what we be a super cool mod!! Make your passenger seat to where it swivels around backwards so when you’re camping you have a legit nice chair to hang out in!!
Yep I was thinking the same thing. It would be nice to have a seat in there you can swivel around in besides just having a bed to sit in

@@jaycevessier7554 I’d also throw the semi/rv style front window enclosure that slides around the cab windows for privacy.
In my van I just put the rear bench seat in backwards. I just leave it that way. It's awesome to back in towards the screen at drive-in movies. You can sit there like a couch and still be able to fold it down into a bed if you want. And all 4 of my captain's chairs pivot 360° too.

it would be interesting to see if you could make some sort of screened in porch on the side of the van so you could have the doors open for some extra space and airflow and keep out the bugs
Take the curtains and sew the bottoms so you can put the 2nd curtain rod inside the curtain just like the top of each curtain. You still can move the bottom curtain rod up to open the bottom windows

2 years ago this month I was scrolling YT and came across the video of you putting on the awning on your truck and decided to do a little truck camper build myself. I bought the NAPA awning the next day and the build started. 2 years later that old truck of mine has been base camp for me and my grandchildren on many many camping adventures and memories her in the San Luis Valley Colorado. Can’t wait to see what you do with the van.
P.S bad influence is a proper name for the van bro. My wife might say you were a bad influence when I was doing my thing hahaha

Just an idea. A futon bed/couch would be rad. Especially with the extra room you have now. Enjoyed the content and cannot wait for your upcoming adventures
I was in high school when MarkIII opened in Ocala. In fact a friend of mine worked there for a while. Can’t believe how clean the interior is considering the age of the van. Happy adventures

Started van life 12 years ago, 51 years old, in96 Dodge van that looked very similar.
Removed the two seats and put the bed down,
Plastic totes the same height as bed, put along the front. (making it possible to support queen size mattress)
Using fork mounts on engine cover I mounted my bicycle between the seats.
Surfboard was mounted inside up against roof.
2017 I inherited some money and purchase travato 59K.
I gave the other van to a friend of mine who had recently crashed his and was homebound.
Currently parked at a ranch in the hills above Santa Barbara.
I take care of the horses.
No debt my only monthly bill is phone.👍
Gotta do it: Gave a girl a ride in my wagon, she crawled in and took control…She woke up and took me by my hand, she gonna love me in my Chevy van, and that’s alright with me!

Y'know it's a good day when Quady uploads! Not sure if its silly but if you ever decide to build a wooden base to install a bed or kitchen top, maybe you could utilise the seat bolt holes to secure the wooden base or base of whatever you're building to the body of the van? That way it doesn't rattle around?
Yeah I'll utilize those holes for the build out, I don't want to put any more in the body if I can help it

You can also use pillowcases for curtains. They are a bit thicker, doubled up. I made bedroom curtains from them and they were perfect!. Hemmed on both ends, an added help in hanging

Your DIY conversion is looking great already! However, over a period of time you will find yourself changing things constantly. I've lived in my van for two years and want to make some changes to suit my changing needs or desires. It is so much fun. Enjoy your van...it is sweet!

Looks great with the curtains, the only thing I would be worried about, is that at night, with lights inside the van, people outside might be able to see inside. The curtains are a little thin and see through.
Can't beat a Chevy 4.3 V6 when it's equipped with it. I had one in an 87 S10 project. Bored it out and had an extensive amount of work done, heads and all. It was a screamer. Sold the truck to a buddy and he is still driving it. It's been 10 yrs now since I had it. Good looking van bro.

Wow I bet your wife absolutely loves that crafting table you made her!. Definitely do not use her any fabric scissors on paper, but rotary cutters are fine, they go dull no matter what.

You could always take those rear windows out and flip them so the slider is at the top.

I’m a video editor by trade, so creating videos helps too. Can’t wait to see the return of the truck but also new adventures in the van!

I bet that wiring deal under the doghouse has something to do with the doors locking when you start it and unlocking when you turn it off.
Autumn rains will make good sleeping sounds on the roof this fall.
A good thing to change also is the transmission filter, first thing I did when I bought my 2001 Silverado Z 71 it was 16 years old when I got it and no rust it was from North Carolina it is my pride and joy

The van looks good! You could use velcro instead of magnets or like you said get them tinted. I would put some color changing led lights in there maybe a small tv, all kinds of cool things you could do!
They need tinted for sure
They make something called a battery buddy, it trips a relay that shuts the battery off if it's drained to a certain point. I opened a van for 15 years and never had to get a jump start even when the battery started going bad. It's a must-have with a van.
When you were taking the back seat out all I could think of was PIVOT PIVOT!!! Lol
I always knew guys liked doll houses, you even made curtains and everything.
Well, you got alot done! That van was so clean there wasn't even anything under the seats when you took them out!

I’ve got a 98 e150 rust bucket I bought a couple years ago for we fest up here. I like being able to get from driving to bed all from the inside. Pretty excited to see the adventures you have planned for this rig.
This is going to be great to watch. You won't know what you will need for your final build til you do exactly what you are doing. Just the bare necessities to start with. Have fun!!!
The cool thing now is you don't have to get out of the van to go get in the front seat if you don't want to. Especially when it's cold or raining. Ryan Twomey did a cool build on his van..
Come winter (or whenever) I'd switch those thin curtains out for black out curtains (blocks noise and heat/cold) Used them forever and they're awesome. I figure they'd be really good for van life too.

I don't know if i would be cooking in there Mike i think that ceiling carpet would turn black real fast also you have enough room now to maybe run a satellite dome on the roof now and like a 32 inch TV would beat watching movies on the computer.

That van is awesome brother. Great job with the quick curtains great idea. Could sew the smaller magnets into the curtains on the corners. Fold the corners over then sew them together that way. Cant wait for the next trip. Cheers.

I like the curtains. I think the rod's will fall down. The idea I have is to glue magnets to the windows and more magnets to the curtains so they stick together. Good luck.

That's one SWEET ride, and mint 28 years old at that. V6--I'm guessing it's a 231--I'll have to Google that. If it is a 231, I know it's TDI though. The 231's I worked on were naturally carbbed and powered Buick Regals at the time. I'm not TDI experienced, but did noodle around with a coupla Squarebodies with such. Nonetheless, that is one nice Boogie Van! Well taken care of by previous owners and Mark III did a killer job.
