    It's not psychological gains. If you never were hanging from edges, or doing loaded pullups, it's a lot of neurological gains in the beginning. Meaning your brain and nerves learn how to recruit more muscle fibers in a more effective way and also you learn how hard you can actually pull. But those are very important gains. And why not take them, as they come so easily. If you feel the progression is getting way slower, just look for something else where there are still beginner gains to get. Way more satisfying than cranking out the last percentages on something you been doing for years...
