This is such a superb song.
By the way, after 12 years of waiting there is a new PT song: Harridan - I still can't believe we will get another album from these masterminds after all these years! So goddamn hyped!!!
All Right! So happy to see you doing more Porcupine Tree. I would also love you to react to some Rishloo! You rock, dude!
There are only a few songs that can lead me to tears, and "Trains" is one of them. Needless to say my favorite song of Porcupine Tree.
I’m in love with this piece. From the very first listen. One of the TH-cam videos has the best comment on this song:
“I’d give anything to hear this song for the first time again.”
Could not have summed up my feelings better.
Top notch production. Just beautiful. An all time favorite. Cheers, wish you all the best 🙂👍
Great reaction to the great band called Porcupine Tree who we are so happy to say will be releasing new music soon!
So glad you got around to this song, don't think it's possible for anyone to listen to this and not be blown away.
This song, this album, then the 2 albums that followed (although all are great) are perfection in my humble opinion. In every way... Musicianship, production, arrangements. Wonderful stuff I go back to weekly
Their run from In Absentia to Deadwing to Fear of a Blank Planet is about as good as any three-album run from any band ever.
oh wow trains
Geebz, you are officially DA MAN! Don't have time to immerse in this right now, but will savour that opportunity later today 🤘
Oh man this one is gonna be a fan favourite. Watching tonight!
I could not be happier. This is my favorite song ever! Thank you so much for this!!!
Glad you've done this song, my favourite song on my favourite album by them.
This song is what got me into PT and modern prog in general. Wilson is such an amazing artist, truly a musical genius.
Love this review. I would like to draw your attention to the breathtaking drumming by Gavin Harrison. So tasteful, so engaging. He just always is doing EXACTLY the right thing. He's not Danny Carey, he's Gavin Harrison and he's so good.
Just watched the Making Of video. Gavin had known these songs for two weeks by the time he recorded the drums for them.
And if you want to have fun, do What Happens Now, live in Tilburg. I was there. The second half has a crazy polyrhythm that grooves SO much.
Best...song...ever.
I think you're a PT fan now, LOL. Bro you should really check out Pineapple Thief "White Mist" Gavin Harrison from Porcupine Tree is the drummer. Pineapple Thief are right up there with the great Prog bands, IMO. It's a rabbit hole you wont regret going down.
Yes! Back to the musical genius! Please, check out some more of his solo stuff, can't go wrong with Raven That Refused To Sing.
Such a good song live .. one of the best bands I have seen live for sure
Oh and..
THE PACKAGE - A PERFECT CIRCLE
this album was incredible at the time, and is still amazing.
As always in time, a weak ago I started listening this band, and when I heard this song, I just loved it, listened it about 30 times, still loving it
Still listening this…unbelievable band
First heard PT during the house music before an Incubus show (their Morningview tour). I was hoping someone would name the band and the song, and they did: "Blackest Eyes", by Porcupine Tree. I spent the entire concert reminding myself of that so I could look it up as soon as I got home.
Have been a fan of them, and everything Steven Wilson does, ever since.
For me, he's up there with Devin Townsend as one of the most versatile and brilliant artists out there today.
Hell yeah! Finally you're doing Porcupine Tree 👍
Check out " Blackest Eyes " too .
Agreed, love that song!
A client of mine burned PT's In Absentia album for me, as I'd never heard of them at that time. First song I heard was Blackest Eyes...and I was HOOKED! PT is an incredible band!
Was just rewatching their documentary. Most of the band members either initially disliked this song or didn't think it would be a fan favorite. Wouldn't even play it live till fans started inquiring about it after shows. It's definitely in my Top 20 all time. Awesome take Geebz. Awwrighht! 🤘
They played it when I saw the tour for this album …
Paradise club Boston 2002 I think
Leaving the cough in at the end made me laugh. Very organic and "real". Well played Geebs
I love this trip you're going on. So many bands I've never heard before. These guys are something I would never of listened to on purpose. Saweet
Great reaction! Love Porcupine Tree and this song especially really resonates with me. Would also love to see a reaction to "Nighttime Disguise" by Leprous from their new album, its such a great song with much to dissect!
Keep it up!
I would love to watch you listen to Sixteen Horsepower for the first time 😄 my all time favorite band..
