    Great video. I personnaly take 2 lenses for travel: rf 24 105 f4 for versatality and rf 35 f1.8, small and light, perfect for night photography.

      Thank you! That definitely covers a lot for just 2 lenses 👌

    I’m going to Japan in April and I’m planing to take my 16-24mm 2.8 lens, my 35-150mm lens and for Mt. Fuji my 100-400 lens. This video was useful to know I’m not crazy in bringing all these zooms.

    I like primes, but while traveling, zooms are king. My "trio" if lenses are: RF 16mm 2.8 for those interior / wide angle shots. 24-70 2.8 and the 70-200 2.8. I've got everything covered in that range! I'll swap out the 70-200 for the 100-500 if it's really nature focused. But the 70-200 is absolutely my favorite lens. Light, compact, beautiful colors and excellent rendering.

    I travel also quite frequently. My normal setup are two lenses: Canon R5 24/70 and the 50 1.2. or 15/35 and the 50. We ll travel for the first time to Japan in March so I have to think about my gear. Right now I ll bring my 15/35, 24/70, 70/200 and the 50. Maybe overkill but I don t know if we will ever go there again. because of that I'll be ready for every circumstances.

    For travel im rocking the R8 with 24-105 f4 and the 70-200 f4 mainly for stills. The OP3 for vlog. Gopro Hero 10 Dji mini 3. Dji mic 2 and obviously accessories including filters, tripod, etc… for me it’s more than enough, I prefer lightweight and small footprint gear on my backpack because i have back problems.

      Far too much to be called lightweight 😅

    Prime (lens) time in Tokyo - Jealous, but youve got a nice setup there!

    My current travel setup is the R6ii, RF 24-70 f/2.8, RF 35mm 1.8, and RF 85mm f/2.

    • @TKNORTH
      @TKNORTH  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nice 🙏 how do you find the 85mm f2.0? I might swap my 70-200 out for it. The size and weight is a big plus.

      @@TKNORTH The 85 is great, I don't think it gets enough praise. The only downside is the lack of weather sealing, and the STM motor is fast enough for portraits and some macro work. The IS makes it a great low light lens also, especially combined with the ISO performance of the R6. I also love the way it balances on the R6, its great for walking around.

    Good travel kit. I carry nearly the same - including the ulanzi, but sans primes...instead swapping out for an RF 28-70mm f/2. I kept my R5 because the dynamic range is still (a bit) better than the R5 Mark II. Kyoto, btw, is a photographer's dream.

    I know you love the 50 1.2, would you consider the new 1.4?

    • @TKNORTH
      @TKNORTH  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Most definitely. The size and weight factor would be a big difference. I would love to test it out!

    Hi try adding a mini drone to your travel setup. It will give you another perspective to your YT videos and stills. Great video 👍🏼

    Im heading to japan in feb next year and i am debating if i need to bring a telephoto lens. What do you think? I have the 100-500 and its a great lens but very heavy

    • @Princejp-m6k
      @Princejp-m6k 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends if you mind lugging the lens around all day or not

    • @TKNORTH
      @TKNORTH  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Amazing! That totally depends on your photography style and where you're visiting in Japan. I find something like a 70-200 pretty useful in some locations around Japan. But don't really find myself wanting anything beyond that

    If I could get a YSL kislux bag for 500 euros I would buy one, but for 2000 euros I really don't think it's worth it. I think a lot of consumers are like this, which means that brands that choose to jack up prices to astronomical amounts lose a lot. I wouldn't spend that much on a woc, but a real bag that can hold more than one phone
