Ill have to get in touch with you. I live 15 minutes from Bradford in smethport Pennsylvania. If you ever need a lighter, ill be happy to help get them!
On that slim I would say it could be anywhere from 1958 to 1960. It could be a "reverse" stamp, but it's just as likely that it's a damaged stamp that didn't strike the third dot on the left side. Also, it could be that the third dot on the right is a coincidental base ding. On a fair number of occasions I've used my jeweler's loop to get up close and personal because it was nearly impossible to tell at regular distances. And on occasion the results were still inconclusive. As for the upside-down vs right side up debate... I've kept track of the stamp orientation on my entire vintage collection of over 400, and so far it's 222 vs 252 for upside down vs right-side up (I have not checked any lighter newer than about 2010 nor any of my special editions, with one exception...). In other words, close enough to 50/50 that this is probably the case. They're just bases that are stamped and dropped into a big bin before being randomly loaded into a machine for welding, I think there's no special meaning behind the orientation. The only exception I've been able to identify so far is that all pre-production solid copper lighters from 2022* all (or essentially all) have a right-side up orientation. It might be the case too with sterling silver lighters since you don't have a giant quantity being stamped and dropped into a bin, although I haven't actually made any effort to confirm this.
Hi man, a question, does the replica 41 have the same thickness or thickness as the armor?, I want to buy another zippo and I don't know which one to choose, I would buy both together but my finances don't allow it hehehe
Very cool post cards!
Great to see Jon. Those postcards were items I hadnt seen before, well done to your subscriber for putting it together.
Just got back from Bradford Pa Zippo Store and museum. Loved it.
It’s great isn’t it? As small as it is, I could spend HOURS in there.
Thanks for the content and again thank the subscriber too
Nice video Jon, love the PA plate!
