    I really like it when the two main characters are foils or Parrels each other. That’s personal preference but you can do some really neat things when the two main characters foil each other

      @malakm8143 The Heroes of Olympus series has like 7 main characters, and it switches between all of them for the prospective. It's done really well, but that seems like a writing challenge that I'm not ready for 😂

    I like multiple PoVs. Gives an opportunity to show different parts of the world, with varying smaller stories attached. I have a few "main" characters who will each play an important part in the conflict, with their own arcs.

    I'm currently starting to write a new book with 2 main characters. It's something I've been wanting to do ever since I read the Heroes of Olympus series, but this is my first time having a story where there isn't an obvious main character. I'm really excited to write this book. Thank you for the helpful tips ❤️

    Currently I'm working on a novel where I'm planning to put two protagonists.
    It focuses on a guy and hid brother who get seperated. The guy becomes an antagonistic figure to the world and once he would reunite with his brother, his brother also sees him as an antagoist due to their same goal but different ideals. But he doesn't nessecsrily hate this "antagonist" but this "antagonist" hates him cuz he sees what he could've been if things were different.
    Over here, the antagonistic protagonist is my MAIN main character. So I dedicated my first arc, the first nine chapters, to him; to his separation, to the formation of new bonds and the formation of his resolve. The two made a promise to turn their broken world into a place where their kind can live with smiling faces. (their kind are looked down upon a lot)
    The other guy is forced into a situation where he knows that his brother is alive but he has to fight against him because of their conflicting methods. Over here, I plan to only dedicate certain chapters to him. Either that or dedicate almost the same number of chapters as the other guy and lead up to their confrontation.
    Thoughts?

    Omg, thank you.
    I've spent a lot of time writing a character's backstory, that I became uninterested myself. Only working in spurts of energy.
    I've finally managed to finish all of their backstories, and it wasn't actually hard to do! It was quite enjoyable as well!

    Great job and awesome writing advice, I’m definitely going to be using it for my book series.
    In my book I’m writing I have four main characters , three of which always stay in a group because they’re brothers and the fourth main character is their father, and they’re family . Depending on the chapter I’m writing, I switch between the four main characters.
    My main characters names are:
    Yosef-Tasman Azul : who is 13 in 1885 and his two older brothers: Tamias Creedence Henri: Age 14 in 1885 and Kensington Thomas: Age 15 in 1885
    Their father: Mercia Hawkins: who is 29 years old in 1885 and is the mayor and sheriff of the town of north Mercia Umbria falls, that the story is mainly set in

    Well I don't know if it's proper but I starting a book about girl in disguise as a guy and in an all boys school.
    The thing here is that The 24 four student in the class of the girl are like supporting roles so I'm thinking of making 10 main character.( including the girl) the other 9 main charactrs are like the school gods with various personality who from time to time develop feelings for the girl. So I'm thinking if its proper for such 10 main character. If not any advise?

    I have no idea how many main characters I my story is going to have 😂. Don't get me wrong, my main main character is already in the story. He is my little sunshine not only because of his personality but as he is one if not the first character I have created all those years ago. Then there is his love interest/mate who has been around lesser years but I love her anyway. I have been wondering, as the story is going to be very large, should I promote some characters as mc's as well to equal the weigh from the two first mc's shoulders?

    • @NourZikra
      @NourZikra  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol that's awesome!
      And yes, you can definitely do that, but make sure you introduce them as main characters right from the start of the books, so readers don't get confused when perspectives shift suddenly.

    Thank you so much for the video! My story has 4 or 5 main characters but I was thinking about shortening it to just one or two main characters because it would be too complicated. If I were going to keep all of them as main characters, I was thinking about rotating between each perspective. If I were to make all of them main characters, then would all the perspectives have to be included in the story for them to be considered main characters? Again, thanks for the video!

    • @NourZikra
      @NourZikra  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're welcome!! 😊
      And yes, if you were to make all of them main characters, you'd have to include all their perspectives. But you can switch between them from chapter to chapter to make that easier, as opposed to switching between them scene to scene.
