McLaren 570GT review: the most usable McLaren yet?

- McLaren has come a long way over the past five years, and the 570GT is the culmination of its endeavours. And it is, without question, a huge achievement.
But it’s also a different kind of sports car to the ones McLaren has made up until now. Why? Because the 570GT is an out-and-out road car - an automobile that’s been designed specifically to be used every day on regular roads by regular (and rather wealthy) drivers.

Lol. For once i dont think bias comes into play, its a fantastic car, you will find out if u ever get to drive or even sit in one.
But an American reviewer reviewing an American car or a German reviewer reviewing a German car aren't biased, right? Because only British reviewers are biased.

The paddle shift "clicking" is very annoying. That would drive me a bit crazy on a long trip..... can this be "fixed" ?

i think what mclaren is doing is wrong, they are making amazing cars but the problem is that they want to be up there with ferrari and lamnorghini in terms of the production line. making all these new models in such a short time and rushing is not good for their brand or their cars.

Except all the cars are gaining incredible universal praise and their sales numbers have shot up...so I don't really get what you seem to think they are doing wrong. The numbers prove otherwise.
Well they will deappreciate unlike most ferraris or lamborghinis for example, thats goes back to what i said, mclaren building more models in such a short time to basically catch up, wont make their cars special ( not talking about the p1 etc), they make amazing cars im positive but thats my only concern, wont be a good investment unless you go for the rarest models they produce
I agree. They now realized they can't keep up with Ferrari at the high-end. Their cars lose value like a rock. So now they are trying to compete with Porsche, something I said they should do a long time ago. It's not simply question about making a fast car. They can't come close to the drama a Ferrari car can create. It's the engine, sound, design, etc. And they need to have at least another engine than that single one they put in every car they make.
+Fast Er wtf the P1 is more than a match for the LaFerrari ?! And it's values are climbing , same with the 675lt...

I actually hate how the rear end of the 570 looks. The 675lt has the best looking front and rear end in the mclaren range 2nd to the p1 of course but you cant really count that as a production vehicle.

Roof looks way better, but I doubt you would like to lean over to each out for bag after driving few houndreds of miles on rain and dust. From practicality point of view I still think 911 is king, but McLaren is progressing very, very fast.

+KHD I disagree but you have every right to your opinion. I personally think there's isn't a single turbocharged engine that sounds special or exciting. Some manage to sound ok but nothing that really gets your soul stirring. I happened to drive the 570s and I think it sounds great for a turbo motor but when there are cars like the huracan 458, gt3 etc it just pales in comparison. It just sounds loud, muffled, and flat. The car is insanely fast and handles and steers like nothing else I've driven. You get an amazing sense of connection and feedback through the steering wheel that's missing from cars like the 991 gt3 and huracan. It's an amazing car in terms of looks, performance, interior fit and finish, but it can't touch those cars when it comes to engine/exhaust sound.
+Dream cars I agree with you but not completely. I just bought a 570s myself. I drove the Huracan, new R8 V10 plus and also considered a used 458. Huracan and the R8 sounded awesome outside but not so much inside. Plus I was going to give up so much feel and that awesome steering wheel in the 570s. 570s actually sounds pretty good to me. I think this car is going to sound amazing with AWE cats. I already have the sport exhaust from factory.
+Elite X I'm not sold on the engine but I'm definitely sold on just about everything else. I want mine in onyx black with mclaren orange calipers and seat belts :)

Every auto journalist was invited to this 570GT drive. Even Car Throttle, Shmee150, SeenThroughGlass and Carfection were there.
i love it, but the 570S i think is what more buyers will opt for as most buy a SUPER CAR to be thrilled most super car buyers go out once a week or on special occasions to be excited and blown away, this is a bit of a pointless product in this segment.
Justin Bouche not at all this car is for the guy who can barely afford a super car and wants a versatile and thrilling car that he can actually use daily.

A British, mid-engined grand tourer? My God that would confuse the valet.
Rowan Atkinson sold his McLaren F1 for around $12 US dollar (crashed 3 times!) and it may not be the most known brand out there, but ask Mercedes and Formel 1 who makes some of the best engines in the business.

570GT feels a little bit more complete.
Wouldn't be surprised if they release something like a 590 RS or something soon, that would be a very interesting car but it might cross into the inevitable 700S which must be coming out soon

Flash Man, it's actually the correct driving position. Your wrists should easily rest on the top of the steering wheel if you're seated correctly.

its not deafeningly loud, lets not exaggerate. mclaren still prioritises performance but with a hint of practicality
McLaren's always look cheaper than they actually are, they don't look like a quality product (too plasticy)

Nice car. Everyday supercar aimed at the 991 turbo customers. I'd say Mcl have got it right. Same price band as the Porsche, I wonder how the ease of/cost of running will compare. Looks great in that colour.

I haven't looked it up but I'm guessing it's a B&W speaker in which case that's like their signature design for a high end tweeter...
