What is the route that you are walking called rethinking a river cruise for a walking tour love the old towns ,everywhere in these videos there does not look like there is a lot of people about.is it because of the heat? Loving the unloads thanks so much for posting
theuniplex This walking trail is called the RhineBurgenWeg or Rhine Castles Way on the West Bank of the Rhine which stretches 200 km/124m on the left side of the Rhine from Rolandseck to Bingen. There are basically 13 legs, all with excellent public transport connections, Begin and end wherever you want. The most crowded towns were Cochem, Koblenz, and Rudesheim (to be uploaded this week). If you bike, there are fabulous and easy trails all along the way; we saw so many people biking to a town during the day, stay, and then carry on as well as those who stayed in one town and biked to another as a day tour, all doable. If you do decide to walk or bike, many of the hotel will send you luggage on to the next place. Rhine cruises are great though - unpack once and that's it. Thanks so much for visiting my channel and best regards, Sheila
Such a beautiful historic place! I`m pretty sure one of the towns close to mouth of rhine river close to the north sea is where my great grand dad on my mothers side came from. I know he was born in northern germany. I was told he was a merchant marine in the early 1900s I think it was in 1902 and I was also told by my grand dad that his dad jump ship in pensacola florida so that he could stay in the USA. ( I`d guess you could say my great grand dad he was a illegal german immigrant in the USA ) My grand dad said when he was growing up they were always on the move moving from town to town state to state and ended up in indep. Mo. after 14 moves ( I think maybe he though the immigration patrol or immigration inspectors who ever check for illegals back in those day was going to catch up to him. ) From what I understand he work in florida for a while and some how save up enough money to send back to his girl friend so that she could meet him in the USA..( I really wish I knew more about their story of coming to America! ) ANYWAY! I want to thanks you for the video`s shelia these video`s of germany give me some kind of idea of where my family roots blood line came from on my mother side!
***** I think it's fantastic that you know that much about your family background. My grandparents died when I was too young and stupid to every question them about where they lived, why did they leave their homeland, etc. So glad the videos add to your family history and I hope you visit one day. There were so many campgrounds and young people backpacking in this area which may make it doable for you. Very best regards and thanks for watching, Sheila
