8:57 That pelvic thrust will always leave me in shock, Jimin has that intensity on stage that drives me crazy and I love it, his clothes are iconic, with so much leather omg it's so dangerous right there, there are so many fans of him with this outfit, he looks so sexy, hot and impressive so omg. I die every time, apparently they get more crazy and exaggerated when they are on tour in Japan I wish I had gone to one of those concerts in that country so much.

I swear, if it wasn't for Covid, my first concert was going to be in Washington D.C. with BTS. (At least my first technical concert was still their online ON:E concert, but still😭) . It was going to be me, my stepmother, stepbrother (because it was his B-Day weekend and he liked MIC Drop) and my aunt, who got me into Kpop in the first place. Had the tickets and everything already. 😔

You gotta pay to see the high quality stuff. The reason all the TH-cam videos of live performances are so low quality is cuz they're illegally uploaded in most cases. If you buy a concert DVD or buy a ticket to a concert livestream, you get really high quality stuff plus behind the scenes footage for the DVDs.

Yes everyone's right they're the Japanese versions of the songs, they're also talking to the crowd in Japanese. Also this video is taken from one of their DVD's you can buy them if you want to watch more in good definition. I have a few because I knew it would be a while before I got a chance to see them plus I just love watching them anyway.

@@icybird9999 I loved music when I was young and into my 20s, but as the music scene changed I didn't find anything that really resonated with me. I knew nothing about Korean music and had pretty preconceived notions about what Kpop was. I was aware of the political work of Kpop fans of subverting racist hashtags and ruining the Trump rally, so I at least felt good about them but had never heard of BTS (only Blackpink).
Someone I follow on twitter wrote, "Come on guys we GOTTA get to 301 views.
      #DynamiteTo301V" so I thought I'd help what I assumed was a young up & coming artist 😂
I was immediately intrigued with all the MJ references (I saw him in his prime, so I recognized them all) and thought I'd watch 1 more MV.
Because it was just before going back to school (I teach) I had the time to go deep down the rabbit hole. In the 10 days before the VMAs I already knew many of the memes and had seen almost all of their official MVs.
But the most important things was at a time when I felt the country was a disaster and I was feeling almost hopeless, they gave me the will to keep fighting. I am now a significantly happier person who spreads more happiness than I was on August 19, 2020.
      When did you discover BTS?

    • @icybird9999

@@athelas5305 Asking me when I started listening to BTS is like asking my whole life story 😅.
So, first things first, I turned 18 in 2020 (practically a baby, I know) but I started listening to Kpop, unknowingly, at the age of 5 because of my aunt who’s two years older than me (I know, it’s weird). Since we were always watching YT, it introduced us to anime, kpop, and a bunch of other things. I personally liked Girl’s Day and SNSD. When I got to 3rd grade, I had to move away due to my mom transferring schools (she’s a teacher as well), and being separated from my aunt means that I got separated from Kpop.
Flash forward a few years later, and I meet my best friend in 6th grade, and she reintroduced me to anime and all the things I used to like. She tried to get me into BTS, and I vividly remember her showing me their 2nd muster photo. I took one long look at the photo, and said “ I don’t want to listen to a bunch of Asian Justin Biebers”. As you may be able to see, I had a deep rooted disgust for anything related to teenage boys and music. I stayed away from all sorts of groups like NSYNC, 1D, and Super Junior simply because of the stigmatization against things that a “typical teenage girl” would like. I had labeled myself as a tomboy, and that’s how things were going to stay.
One last flash forward to 8th grade, where I was scrolling through YT. I saw that Lily Singh (I really did admire her at the time) had posted a video reacting to an MV. I automatically clicked on it and then realized that it was BS&T. I figured, if I was going to give them a chance, I should give them a fair one, as Lily usually edited down the vids for copyright. I watched that video and my life hasn’t been the same since. Since April 2, it’s been 4 years since I first watched them, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
P.S. -started converting my classmates to the dark side whenever I had the chance, so I became my middle school’s official Kpop head. Even got the title in the school year book.

@@icybird9999 I love that story! Thank you for sharing it.
And I would have reacted similarly to 2013, 2014 BTS had I been exposed to them, I'm sorry to say.
Also, my dad was older than his uncle, so I get you and your aunt 😁

P.S. the next time BTS have a solo online concert, I recommend buying an ARMY Bomb (Version 3 at least) as, just like the real life concerts, your Bomb connects to the actual performance. Really changes it up and adds a real life light show in your room while they’re performing.
Edit : I found this video that is like a fans POV of their concerts. Shows the fan chants and how the light sticks work and all that : th-cam.com/video/aBJQEBHyNfw/w-d-xo.html
