Agreed, I keep trying to think of other towns they've befriended... Tanner's Folly would, at the worst, be indifferent; they DID stop a tribe of fishpeople from kidnapping and murdering townsfolk. I don't think most people really knew about that, though. They also saved a lot of people who had been turned into animals in Castor Falls... but didn't even have the full guild, then.

So the wine was poisoned, but I suspect they've sabotaged the platform (or something on it) to collapse during the speech, and likely turned the children's game into a real danger (nasty as that thought is, it's not like the kids are gonna be drinking the wine and they want to eliminate the whole town).
