Great show, love the 1960 Impala. My parents had a 59 Chevy station wagon when I was very young. But me, at 70 years old, I still remember that cool car. I remember that my Mom got her first speeding ticket driving back to Ohio from a Niagra Falls vacation. Maybe it had a V8 in it?

I LOVE the 59 Chevy, but I think it's fair to say that the 1960 was a cleaner, more refined look. The same applies to other GM division, especially the toned down 60 Cadillac (shorter fins, squared off front turn signal pods). If I had to pick between the 59 and 60 Chevy, I don't know I'd be able to pick a favorite! I think generally I like the 59s as convertibles and the 60s as hardtops, but this convertible is fantastic! Can't go wrong with these classic Chevrolets.

I'm another one who prefers the 1960 models. They were nicely toned down from the '59s, which were overdone style wise. Even as a little kid....when the '59 Chevys were only a few years old...I thought they were UGLY. Especially the cat-eye taillights.

    Three items.
    1. The 235 inline-6 wis equipped with a 1-barrel carb, not a 2bbl as you stated.
    2. In the far-left warning light pod , you find a park BRAKE indicator lamp.

I'm Japanese, but when I was 21 in 1990, I ordered and purchased a 1960 Chevrolet Impala 2-door hardtop from the United States.
The engine was 283 and had a small carburetor
The mission was automatic The aircraft color is white, and the line behind the aircraft is black.
The interior is cool with black and white houndstooth
The antenna was on only one side
There was no fin-like molding on the tip of the front fender
There was no rear bumper override
    Are these optional parts?
After that, I ordered the Continental kit from Continental Enterprise and installed it myself. I could only have it for two years, but it was a wonderful memory.

The second gen Impalas are my all time favorites. The ‘60 in my opinion, did have a cleaner look. Especially with the tamed down “gull wing” fins, vs the ‘59 “bat wing”. Love the houndstooth interior. This looks like a Roman Red, would be even better if it was a Suntan Copper. The windshield washer container was actually original. That’s what it looked like in 1960. If I’m not mistaking it’s a 283 under the hood. Which I could be wrong, but I think the badge in the front grill has a gold “V” in it. When the grill badge had a silver one, it was for a 283. A gold one, was for a 348. And no “V” was a six.
    Great presentation.

Initially the 1960 Corvair came only as a 4-door sedan. The 2-door coupe didn't come until January of 1960 and the Monza arrived in early spring. The "many" body styles began arriving in 1961 when a station wagon was introduced as was the Corvair 95 series of pickups, vans and passenger vans. The rag top arrived in 1962.

The ill-fated Turboglide automatic operated like the ill-fated Buick Flitch Pitch Dynaflow. These were not 3-speed automatics as such but had 3-phase, 5-element torque converters. As with earlier Buick Dynaflows, they were continuously variable automatics(CVT), with no perceptible gear changes. As with the Buick Dynaflows, the Turboglides had 2 forward gears and one reverse, with no automatic upshifts. With a single compound planetary gearset, without 2nd gear clutches and a sprag clutch, these Turboglides could only have 2 forward speeds.
Although the next generation transmission , the TH350, was based on the aluminum Powerglide and introduced for the 1969 model year,, they dispensed with the compound planetary and used two separate planetaries, added a 2nd gear clutchpack and sprag clutch to the front of the transmission, making it a true 3-speed automatic. The TH350 has the same dimensions as the Powerglide, so they can be swapped with no other modifications than changing the shift quadrants.
Myself, I have only seen Turboglides in junk yards. I have seen many different Chevy's with the shift quadrants of the Turboglide(especially with 348 V8's), but all had Powerglides. Most people had them changed out. With the introduction of the aluminum-cased Powerglide, it was an easy swap.
