Dude, I have been looking for this version of this song literally for years! In the late 70's I had this on 8-track and I listened to it over and over again. Then when 8-tracks went out of favor I never got to hear this version again and I missed it so much because it is way, way better than what was put on cassettes, LP's, and CD's! I remember it had an extra verse and an extra little guitar solo. The 8-track version of Miss You had extra lines & was also longer than the one on all other media
This take is the 4th version I've heard so far on U-Toob and I've gotta say it's EASILY the pic of the bunch. Thank you so much for uploading it is like totally really appreciated! Had a wee chuckle at the comment of Jeff Vanderslys asking for the 8-track stereo version in electronic form :-)
I bought this on 8 track new in '78 and my buddy bought the LP. When he played the album I thought it skipped because it was so much shorter. I believe "Shattered" was shorter on 8 track!!!
FROM WIKIPEDIA: North American copies of the album on 8-track tape format contain extended versions of "Miss You" and "Beast of Burden" and edited versions of the songs "Far Away Eyes," "Shattered" and "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)".
From Wikipedia: "The Stereo 8 also introduced the problem of dividing up the programming intended for a two-sided LP record into four programs. Often this resulted in songs being split into two parts, song orders being reshuffled, shorter songs being repeated, and songs separated by long passages of silence. Some eight-tracks included extra musical content to fill in time such as a piano solo on Lou Reed's Berlin and a guitar solo in Pink Floyd's Animals.
I thought he was saying I don't want to be your pizza burning! I can't believe people booed Prince when he opened for the Rolling Stones and end the it was Prince who became to be the true great legend!!
Wish this was in stereo instead of mono. I really miss the 8 track versions of songs on this album that I grew up with. They were better mixes than what is on the vinyl and CD versions.
I know. I meant I wish THIS video's soundtrack was in stereo like the 8-track recording, so I could hear it in stereo again. You wouldn't happen to have the 8-track version in stereo in electronic form would you?
Best version,, love the ending, with Woods playing that lovely guitar arpeggio,, beautiful!
Very good to hear this rare version. not even the rather scatterbrain assemblage of images can spoil this amazing song!

My copy sounds much better than this one, and it IS in stereo. This is a cruddy rip. Sorry...
There needs to be a clean MP3 of this version of the song.

No lo dudo! Es mi canción favorita de "Las Piedras Rodantes" ......... Porque DA PIEDRA que mi novia me quiera coger como su "Bestia de Carga"!!!!!!!
Unfortunately this is Mono
that remaster with the bonus materials was lame...
GCOUNDOU Official remasters are always lame to me, they just butcher the original and call it better. SO not true!!!!!!!!
so out of sync it sucks !
