Thank you. I love your videos, natural scenery and positive messages about God. And Fritz. I rewatched this today, going thru a long, long trial dealing with an evil man. Arguing with God but still hoping that truly nothing lasts forever. Pray for me Pastor Donna for deliverance and to have joy again.❤
Thank you what a beautiful message. Ive been living for the last year in Solitude by myself and I am okay and find it comforting. I actually don’t feel alone and I thought that was strange but after seeing this video maybe that’s quite a normal feeling. Blessings to all ❤
I am so glad you enjoyed this message. I tend to live a more solitary life, too. I sometimes find myself wondering if my life is strange because I rather be alone than go out with others or socialize. I think we need to all embrace who we are and celebrate where we are in life. It's been only recently that I have begun doing that. I am on a crusade to start redefining what normal is. :) So thank you for being part of my life. Blessings to you!!!
Thank you for the heart warming and encouraging message. Biscuits from scratch in middle school home economics when I was about 13 was the first thing I ever learned to bake. They tasted so good with honey.
Yum!! Biscuits with honey...that is one of my favorites!!! (I have a lot of favorites. I am not a picky eater at all!) Thank you for sharing that with me. And thank you for being part of this community. Many blessings to you!
A very powerful and poignant message. Knowing that “God’s got this” is a very helpful reminder in the seasons of pain and loneliness as we live between the two gardens (the garden of Eden and the garden of eternity). Two unrelated happy observations. Apple crisp is my favorite fall desert. The first thing I learned to bake was jelly roll in 8th grade home ec. back in the 60’s. Why I remember that I don’t know as my skill is in sewing not cooking. 🤣 The other thing is that you are reminding me very much of Tasha Tudor in your quest of Early American living. Although, you have the blessing of being a believer which from what I read about her, she was not. So, I wish you a wonderful week full of the blessings of Autumn that God bestows on us from year to year. It is my favorite time of year.
So good, I watched it twice! When Jesus went off by himself, he was alone, or all one with his Father in heaven. So can we, too. Just beautiful, Pastor Donna. Looks like you had the "calling" early on...to write, then preach, be a communicator. Now I will research Ann Bradstreet. Many thanks!
Thank you! I am always so grateful when I hear my ramblings mean something and that you actually watched twice! :) I guess I did have a call to communicate early in life!! And yes, look up Anne Bradstreet. I need to share some of her story and works in a future episode! Till then, blessings to you!
To the sweet poet, Thanks for sharing. Many of your comments in this video resonated with me. 🖌Enjoyed your poem. 📖Especially loved finding out about the old word Al-one. 🍁Wonder what it’s like to call VT home 🏠 - you’re lucky 🐮Even a precious cow experiences what I am. Blessings to you. God Bless
Beautiful message, and as someone who loves, and writes poetry, I enjoyed your lovely poem that you wrote when you were about 10 years old. Beautiful. I, too, have poems that I wrote years ago. I have to feel it in my heart to express it on paper. Fall is in the air where you live, with the lovely colored leaves still clinging on the trees, and those that lost their grip, and have fallen, and now crunch under your feet as you walk! 🍁🍂 Autumn, is my most favorite season. I love your story of your neighbors cow, and your 2 chickens! We can only imagine what they are feeling or sensing. They know .......❤ and that is what matters. I am lonely, but I am not alone, as I have God in my heart, and I my life. Blessings to you Pastor Donna. ❤
Thank you for your beautiful note! I was so happy to share a piece of fall in Vermont with you. The crunching of leaves is one of my favorite sounds to hear!!! I also love the smell. Yes, we are never alone. God is with us always!! Many blessings to you!
Hello Pastor Donna, I have watched this so many times that I could probably say word for word you say. I do have to say the change of seasons has got me down. I sit in my chair and I can see my neighbor’s trees turning an absolute beautiful yellow. My maple tree, the leaves always fall late. I always enjoyed the fall cleanup, yes you read that right I enjoy it. With the daylight getting shorter, I always like to sit on my deck and listen to the sounds. I have a pond/lake behind me and soon the Canadian geese will fly over my house honking away. I might even hear a few ducks, making their noises. When they do, I say to my wife “another country heard from. Thank you for showing a lot of Fritz in the video, my wife thinks he’s cute. If you could can you give me some verses to read, I would appreciate it. God bless everyone at your end.
I am so glad this message touched your heart! It is joy having you spend a little bit of your day with me here in Vermont. May your day be filled with love and light and many blessings!
"Nothing lasts forever"(written at 10?🎉).I hope you share to us more of your talent !.Thanks to show all the Beauty of your countryside.I like to read sometimes poems as well.I am reading at the moment some ancien Haikus translate to french .I hope to go one day to that shop in London! New moments to come!❤Thanks.God Bless you 🙏
There is another poem that I might share in another video. I didn't write a lot of poetry when I was young...just a few. I guess my poet stage was a short one! ;) Those ancient Haikus sound lovely! Enjoy. And I, too, hope to get to that store in London. Another viewer told me that there is such a bookstore in the French countryside where she lives. Such a great idea. Many blessings to you!
Hello Pastor Donna , once again thank you so much for your message . Your words are very inspiring . I struggle everyday with anxiety and i find confort in a life away from society in the quiet surrounded by nature . Yes there is a difference about the translation of lonely or alone in solitude. I agree with you . I wonder why you don’t have more followers ? . You deserve to be better known but I thank God everyday for having discovered this channel one Christmas. I ll remember it for the rest of my life. Blessings . Clement
A great reminder that poetry speaks to the soul . What a gift ! I am trying to find balance in a very unbalanced world . Challenging Life changes for me as I grow old . I loved poetry when I was young and thanks to you I will revisit poetry especially Emily as well as Mary Oliver. Great inspiring words . Thank you Pastor Donna ! ❤️🙏
You have reminded me to revisit Mary Oliver!! Another favorite of mine. Yes, growing older does come with changes. I am experiencing them more these days. But I love what Emily Dickinson said about becoming new each day. I am trying to live that truth. Not always easy. :) Thank you for coming to the farm and being part of this community. Blessings to you!
Funny that this was a message that wasn't planned. I had something in mind and then, while on my walk...which I always call my "prayer walk" that poem I wrote as a young girl popped into my mind. I went back to the house and searched a big box in the back closet to find it. And there it was. I love how the Spirit works! So glad you enjoyed it! Many blessings to you!
Thank you Pastor Donna for this beautiful video. Your words have so much meaning. They help me as well as many others to look to God knowing he is with us and will care for us in all the different situations we encounter. Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words.❤
How lovely the story of the cow and your 2 chickens; this is such a beautiful message! Thank you Pastor Donna for this reminder about loneliness and solitude and for sharing this beautiful poem you wrote 🤗🤗🤗 Blessings from Belgium
I am so glad you enjoyed! I had wanted to try to capture the cow and chickens on video, but every time I saw them together I just felt it was a holy moment and I myself wanted to be in that moment, too. There was one time I did run into the house to get my iphone, but by the time I got outside they had already moved on. :) Always great to get blessings from Belgium. What is the weather there? The temps have been dipping low here. I finally turned on the heat last night! Blessings to you.
You were totally right to enjoy this special moments! In Belgium we have ups and downs in temperatures at the moment. We already had 50 degrees F two weeks ago and now we have 66 and it will decrease to 60 this weekend! A bit strange because it’s rainy… And normally in Belgium at this time of the year, when it’s rainy it’s cold…
Hello Donna - great name! (smiles) -- I cannot believe you wrote that poem at 10 - you're so talented! I never have been able to write poetry - I try to work so hard with the rhyming that I suffocated the flow! Will need to work on that. That poetry shop sounds amazing! I was last in London in 2018--not too far away from the shop - not sure if it was there then...but sure would love to visit it one day! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for your kind note! I didn't write too many poems...I think my poet stage was a very short one! :) I, too, would love to go to that London bookstore. Another viewer just told me that she has such a bookstore in her home in the French countryside. I just love the idea of offering books that heal a troubled soul. Again, thank you and blessings to you!
Thank you for the words. I am facing an additional test after an abnormal mammogram result. I am vomforted by faith but I feel so alone and scared. I miss my husband at this time and need him here. I'd appreciate prayer Your world is beautiful.
You might get a lot out of a book Elle. By Elle McPherson. She beat breast cancer and is years past it. My friend is 20 years past her fight with it. Lots of help online now, lots of new studies and good results. I will include you in my morning prayers. ❤
Gail, always a joy hearing from you. Lifting you in my prayers now and always. May God ease your fears and may you feel His loving arms holding you and comforting you. May the peace that passes all understanding wash over you, and may God's healing grace touch you. Hugs and blessings!!
Thank you!! I am so glad you came to visit the farm here in Vermont! :) I know I need more calming moments, and so I am happy to share them with others like you. (And the boy/dog is cute! I agree!) ;)
Once again, Donna, the timing of your video was perfect. On three separate occasions yesterday I spoke to three people who said they'd felt particularly alone recently - my mum (my Dad died three years ago) a friend, and a stranger, an elderly woman, who asked to join myself and hub outside a cafe, just to have a chat as she hadn't spoken to anyone for nearly a week! She too, had lost her husband not long ago and was struggling with loneliness. All I could do at that those moments, was to be there for them.Thank you again, Donna, for your encouraging, lovely words.
Your note was a blessing to read. To hear how you have been there for those who are feeling lonely is such a gift. Loneliness is so rampant in our world. It seems the more we can be connected via technology, the more we isolate. I remember reading about a grocery store in Denmark I believe where they created a special check out line for those who want to linger a bit and chat rather than bag their groceries quickly and leave. It was a way of providing human contact with others. Blessings to you! (And your mom...and all those feeling lonely.)
Greetings Pastor Donna, what a beautiful message, very comforting to me as I am presently feeling lonely. And now I know it will soon pass. My first baking adventure was chocolate chip, toll house cookies, when I was about 10. My older sister assisted me. Love your poem and the poor little cow, I am glad the chickens are being her friend! I enjoy your channel very much, your messages are always so uplifting. And your property is awesome. I grew up in southern Rhode Island, in the country. We had big gardens, pumpkins are my favorite. So cute giving the chickens a pumpkin! My first job was on a poultry farm, thousands of,,,,you guessed it Rhode Island Reds!
I am so glad you enjoyed your time at the farm! And thank you for sharing your first baking adventure. Toll house cookies...yum!!! Now I have a hankering to make some! I grew up in congested north New Jersey and so being here in Vermont is such a blessing. I, too, love pumpkins!!! And I was smiling...of course your had Rhode Island Reds! Love those chickens. I tend to stick with Plymouth Bards...I tried a few "exotic" chickens...like Easter eggers. They tend to be high maintenance. I lost a few chickens this past year, including the Easter egger. Now I am down to these two girls...who are slowing down with laying and one is now molting. I had to buy eggs for the first time in three years. What a difference between store bought eggs and fresh. Again, thank you for being part of this channel and taking time to write! A true blessing!
Hi Donna. Thank you for all your videos. Fall is my favorite time of year, celebrating harvest of life and a blessing of starting over. Every fall I reread Charolotte’s Web, a sweet story for learning the lesson you’re sharing today. Wilbur was a lonely pig. Was. The first thing I learned to bake was my grandmother’s chocolate chip cookies, which I still bake today.
I had forgotten about Wilbur in Charlotte's Web. Such a wonderful classic book. I am adding it to my reread list! And perhaps I will make some chocolate chip cookies to enjoy as I read. What a great memory to have of your grandmother! Blessings to you!
A beautiful video, once more! And I appreciated first your acknowledgement that Fritz needs a bit more training…my pups still await their civilizing! And our leaves are fading, while eluding all my attempts to capture them with a camera. I am in a season where I am never alone (little, homeschooled children and a “work at home” husband) but sometimes lonely. And there is a little part of me that fears embracing happiness, in anticipation of something darker to come. So I will work to reframe this fear and give it to God, and thank you again, for all the good you do for my mind and soul! (Going off to seek out Anne Bradstreet!)
Thank you for your note! I am so glad to hear, too, that Fritz isn't the only pup still needing to be trained. He is only my second dog and I still don't know what I am doing. :) You also made a point that so many people forget...that while you might not be physically alone, you can still feel lonely. In fact, that feeling of aloneness when you are in a crowd is a heavy feeling. I am glad I shared what was on my heart. And I will share some Anne Bradstreet in future videos. I was going to include a poem from hers in this one, but it just didn't "feel" like the time to do so. Thank you for being part of this community!! Blessings to you.
Welcome to Olde Stone Well Farm!!! So wonderful to have you here!!! It always make me smile when I get a hello from a new subscriber. Every time I film, before turning on the camera I take a deep breath and close my eyes and imagine folks like you sitting there with me. :) I am so happy to share all the things that make my heart sing...and share a little bit of rural Vermont with you! Again, welcome!! Blessings to you!
A tribute to Emily Dickinson Paper plane If I send a paper plane Or if I catch a butterfly And sail on drops of rain Tell me Angel in the sky Will I chance upon you If I shine a candle in the night Beckoning to your might Or if I put a lightning bolt in a jar- Ride fire dust to the evening star Tell me Angel in the sky If you’ve only one word to offer From your wings a single feather On brooding foothill Will you once more dip your quill If I send a paper plane
I baked oatmeal cookies the first thing I learned to cook/got out a cook book and followed the directions/ingredients /I had to raise myself in a house with two parents/taught myself to cook /I feel I did a pretty good job with the self raising and with the cooking!lol We had a pinto pony since it was a baby we sold its mother and where about to sell it after we had it for so long/my little sister said my pony is crying /I went to see the pony and she was crying/obvious tears and looking really sad/hope she got a good permanent home!
Thank you for sharing your first baking adventure. Oatmeal cookies are one of my favorites. I don't make them much as my husband isn't a fan of them. He prefers chocolate chip cookies. :) And that sad little pony...with tears in her eyes. My heart broke reading. I am sure God wiped away those tears and guided that pony and mom to wonderful lives. Blessings to you!!!
Dear Pastor Donna. In my little French country town there is a lovely little bookstore called The Apothecary. She sends us reading prescriptions rather than medications. I find the idea wonderful, because books and poetry heal our souls. That I would like to know you in real life, you soothe my heart. Thank you and god bless you 🙏🏻
Oh wow! That is so awesome to hear you have such a bookstore in your country town. I had never heard of this idea. Lovely! Perhaps I should start one here in Vermont!! And having you part of this community brings joy to my heart! Blessings to you.
Thank you for your beautiful stories, scenes, and words. I also love your clothes! Can you tell us where you got that sage green dress and brown cardigan? Thanks again for sharing your journey and reminding us we are all on the journey.
You are so welcome! I am glad you enjoyed this! And thank you for the compliments on my clothes. I have had a hard time finding simple, classic and well made clothes here in the United States. It was really frustrating. I just wanted classic lines and classic colors without all the fuss. And I wanted natural fibers. And then I found a few companies overseas that had just what I was looking for. I wee bit on the pricey side for my budget, but I scrimp and save to make the purchases. I don't feel too bad about the price because the clothes are so well made. They are classics that will last throughout the years. That sage green dress I have had for three years now. The sweater is a new addition to change up my wardrobe. The company is Son de Flor. www.sondeflor.com Blessings!!
Beautiful message! Needed to hear this message because i am alone for the first time in my life not knowing what to do with that. Your words are very inspiring and insightful. I know Jesus is with me and I believe this video didn't pop up by accident. It's like God knew what I was feeling and used you to give a message. Was wondering if you have tried to go over to the cow and try to befriend the cow? Some animals might respond to petting. Thank you for letting the lord work through you.❤
I am so glad the Spirit led you to this video. I am holding you in my prayers as you embrace and navigate this season you are in. While it might be hard to believe in the moment, we really are never alone. (I know, I know...easier said than done.) I have tried to get close to the lonely cow, but she seemed a bit skittish and so I decided not to add more stress. She is still lingers off to the side of the herd, but it looks like she is getting closer to the others. Prayers ascending!
Donna, you have such an old soul and appreciation for history, authenticity, the Church and saints. I think you're a closet catholic. When are you going to cross the Tiber? ;) #RomeSweetHome
Thank you. I love your videos, natural scenery and positive messages about God. And Fritz. I rewatched this today, going thru a long, long trial dealing with an evil man.
Thank you for your message….and your poem❤
You are welcome! I am so glad you enjoyed it!! Blessings!
New subscriber, love your channel!! SO beautiful!!
A tribute to Emily Dickinson
Paper plane
If I send a paper plane
Or if I catch a butterfly
And sail on drops of rain
Tell me Angel in the sky
Will I chance upon you
If I shine a candle in the night
Beckoning to your might
Or if I put a lightning bolt in a jar-
Ride fire dust to the evening star
Tell me Angel in the sky
If you’ve only one word to offer
From your wings a single feather
On brooding foothill
Will you once more dip your quill
If I send a paper plane
Wonderful!
I love the imagery and the voice. And your idea of being a comnents poet. 🌺 mahalo nui loa.
Beautiful!!! :)
Good morning Donna❤
Dear Pastor Donna. In my little French country town there is a lovely little bookstore called The Apothecary.
She sends us reading prescriptions rather than medications. I find the idea wonderful, because books and poetry heal our souls.
That I would like to know you in real life, you soothe my heart.
Thank you and god bless you 🙏🏻
Oh wow! That is so awesome to hear you have such a bookstore in your country town. I had never heard of this idea. Lovely! Perhaps I should start one here in Vermont!! And having you part of this community brings joy to my heart! Blessings to you.
C S Lewis said-- at least in the movie Shadowlands-- "We read to know we're not alone"....
I love that. Thank you for sharing!! Blessings!
🙋🏼♀️🇦🇺💕
Thank you! :) Blessings to you!
Donna, you have such an old soul and appreciation for history, authenticity, the Church and saints. I think you're a closet catholic. When are you going to cross the Tiber? ;) #RomeSweetHome
Your note made me laugh. Perhaps I am a closet Catholic. When I do cross the Tiber, I will be sure to film it for Old Stone Well Farm!
