  • My first sketch comedy. I have received sooo many calls from recruiters ever since I started my job hunt. Most of them are nice and helpful while a small portion of them are .....not really....
Tell me about your experience with recruiters in the comment below!

Everyday HR turns down highly qualified people. This is a mutual threat for both the job seeker and the company.

The worst are recruiters that don't even bother to read your resume. Full stack engineer here and I've been asked by recruiters if I know JavaScript/Java when its clearly written in my resume. 🤦

it’s so great you can inject such humour into the video when looking for your next job. this is a funny video for SW developers! again good luck on the search

Enjoyed the video. Especially the .Net 8 BS the recruiter was slinging. If I were you, I would brush up (just a little bit) on the latest new features of C# and .Net 8.0 and talk about how good that is going to be. Remember, these people doing the initial interviews don't know much of anything about tech.

I love your Asian way of describing this.
Soo glad I got out of IT 13 years ago. Things changed a lot. Now I'm learning about AI but just as a hobby.

My last job was re-advertised for $20K more; because this time it was direct-not through recruiters (they terminated me for pneumonia and I'm unable to do full-time now)

It's true... I'm not a coder but I still know HTML and CSS because that's what the OGs used to make custom petpages in Neopets back in the day LMAO

Argghhhhh. Getting through recruiters so you can actually speak to the person that does the hiring is a major feat Lah! And dotnet 6,7,8 are similar enough you can learn 8 in a day.

But you don't have 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE in .Net 8! LOL

Is this really what it's like

    • @ZoranRavicTech
      @ZoranRavicTech 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

Pretty much. You have to come to those interviews with an expectation that they wont know anything about the role they are hiring for.

Haha , you know what... I come to a conclusion of ... need to learn how to steer the interview when I started to notice the interviewers are wasting alot of my time and effort by ... basically having less technical knowledge and experience, asking alot of text book questions and dont drill in more after I answered it. Very different from the good interviewers that are much senior that I appreciate.

Nice job! Recruiter: javascript contains all the characters in java therefore it must be it's superset therefore you must also know java.

The other day I was offered a full stack position by a recruiter where they mention “Java or other Object Oriented” but the rest matches my full stack experience… except the recruiter mentioned last minute that I’d need experience in Razor, but nowhere in the job description was that mentioned

Haha, sounds like typical HR people who do the recruiting instead of qualified people (peers, or boss with relative experience in the field).
Not good companies to work for. Hope you find a proper one that values their employee's and skills and wants to invest in them and see them grow.
I am pretty bold when I join these interviews, definitely would call out BS when I smell it. But, then again I come from a country that is much more direct, it won't work in Asia or other countries most likely.
Hope you land a wonderful job soon that your happy with.

i think it time that all tech hr should have tech background/knowledge

    • @ZoranRavicTech

Tech positions are usually better payed, so I doubt people with a tech background would bother applying to hr positions
