Is Alex's striking so phenomenal that he just so far and ahead of everyone OR is the fighters currently in the UFC such weak strikers and not good technical wise that the gap is so huge between him individually and everyone else in that division? Because I dont think Jiri is a great striker, nor Jamal hill or even Jan. I think they can hit hard and have power but technique I don't see it with any other fighter in that division.
Jan has A LOT of credentials to back him up striking wise. Muay Thai champion in some minor events, it's just Alex that is so fucking good (being double champ in the biggest kickboxing org in the world, and even in his last years of Glory he was demolishing the big names like nothing)
Dude did you see that leg kick Alex landed? Extremmmmme precision. He doesn't need to get points. He just waits for 1 shot. His focus makes him way better than anyone else, and he nailed the approach

Tbf to Diego Lopes, we have to remember the Ortega fight was booked 2 weeks ago because Connor x Chandler fell through. So he didn’t have that much preparation or a full fight camp. Ige said he was preparing to fight on the Sphere card and only one of them cut down to 145.
Ian did exactly what he needed to do, otherwise he would have been embarassed. He used his brain to come up with a good game plan, unlike 90% of the roster. And for that reason, I actually respect it.
Ian talked all that shit how he was the new generation of striking and how he was the much better striker but when for takedowns when he realized he couldnt do anything to MVP in the standup lol
Thought MVP vs Garry was a draw tbh…in the main event literally 0.5 secs before Jiri got knocked out, you can hear Jiri’s coaches say “put your hands up”…his coaches knew better than him
Anybody with half a brain would take MVP to the ground, and if you see him fight higher in the rankings, that is exactly what you will see, every time, it's MIXED MARTIAL ARTS, not boxing, or women's self defense..Garry is unlikable and crazy delusional, no arguing that..And this will probably be the last win for Pereira, but it was a great run..
If pereira loses it’s because he can’t keep Ankalaev from hugging him, I think he loses to Aspinal if that fight happens but he would still have his belt at 205. Pereira has a good chance to beat a few more contenders in my opinion

i've realised that one of the most important aspects of MMA is not having messy hair. Look at Jiri's hair at the beginning of the 2nd round: got knocked out immediately, look at Stipe's hair in 2nd Ngannou fight: knocked out brutally. The easiest way to not have messy hair is to have no hair. GSP, Jones, Mighty Mouse, Anderson Silva, Fedor all had no hair when fighting. Pereira: no hair when fighting. Coincidence???
Mvp didnt wobble garry once, didnt land any combos, didnt draw blood, couldnt work to his feet at all, looked lost in every grappling exchange, almost got choked out 3 minutes into the fight, got taken down miltiple times, and some how people say ian garry’s the bitch???
