  • This Episode concludes Day 4 ending at the Kinlochewe Hotel.
    It continues to the end of the B869 passing through Clashnessie and Stoer then carrying on down the west coast to Ullapool where we stop for a chippy dinner.
    The weather for most of this days journey was really good but takes a really bad turn for the worse as we near Kinlochewe.
    This was by far the best days riding of the whole trip with amazing roads and breathtaking scenery, ENJOY !!!

    I can recommend the Gairloch hotel in that area, usually decent prices (in advance) or what I do is stay every year in a pod at Sands Caravan park, of course you need a sleeping bag and microfibre towel, but nothing else, showers right beside them, cracking restaurant , shop, and amazing beach and views.
    Enjoying the series 👍🏻

    Fun fact Steve. That little church in Stoer is where
    Norman McLeod lived. He was the Presbyterian minister who led significant settlements of Highlanders in Nova Scotia and ultimately in Waipu in New Zealand. But even he would have had words about that little silver fiesta dawdling along as it would have only taken a minute to pull over. The Scottish tourist advisery is PULL over on single carriageway rds to allow oncoming traffic to pass AND to allow faster following traffic to pass. PLus its just courtiousy.
    OUR TIMETABLE OUT OF LOCKDOWN is on the adjenda Steve.. SO happy wowsers SOOOON :).. I am doubly enjoying my WUMM-767 route reserch now. Keep safe my friend . wowsers from Paula and myself as always :)

    It can be very stressful on a big bike on them roads going at walking pace behind some eejit, what they don't realise is if you have to stop there might not be any reachable road underfoot due to the road falling away. I did it on my FJR and it takes some muscle sometimes to make sure your bike leans towards the crown of the road just so you can put a foot down. You captured the true essence of Scotland, beautiful beyond words but unforgiving with its weather :) Great video mate, carry on.

    Some of my favourite roads in Scotland. Looks like you saw some rain as did we earlier this year. I've found most car drivers in the Highlands to be quite good at pulling in to allow faster traffic to pass by. There are plenty of signs up there saying please allow overtaking but it's often other tourists just ignorant of protocol. Its got so socially unacceptable to criticise other drivers but to hell with that pc nonsense! They need criticism because the roads are full of idiots who are obvlivious to everyone around them. The roads would be kess stressful and safer without them driving.

    £90 for two sharing that is cheap mate, try coming over to the East Coast and then be prepared to shell out you hard earned cash as normally its about £60 per person but most have TV's with 4 channels - no channel 5 unless in a bigger town.

    You made me smile there. Don't take this as a criticism, just a little bit of education. As you were riding past Loch Ewe, you said it and pronounced it correctly. And again when you pointed out the Isle of Ewe surrounded by Loch Ewe. Everytime you said it correctly. But when it came to Poolewe, haha, you said Pool we. Why did yoiu change ewe to we? You also made the same mistake when you spoke about Kinlochewe. It's Kinloch-ewe and not Kinloche-we. That's Ewe as in You. Great video though!

    Hi Steve. Just re watching your Drumbeg loop B869 as inspiration as I have just reached this section of the NC500 on my 2021 tour. Been a long while coming as My editing skills needed a year of experience under the belt in order to pull out detail in my recordings. You know , got the reds right but what's happened to the greens and where the fkk have the yellows gone. That blue gain needs a smidgen :))). My fault for not learning how to set up my sweet little Drift XL before setting off. In my defence I will say delivered on Friday and away on Monday. But it did record 8 hours a day and every single mile of our Adventure was recorded. Keep safe my friend and thank you for the inspiration and the dedication you put in to bring your adventure to the world. 💯❤‍🩹🤓🙏🤳

    Thank you. Interesting that you went from a Pan European to a BMW, I’ve just gone the other way, had a 2017 GS Adventure sold it and bought a 2006 Pan European. Like the Pan better than my GSA, I’ve also had an RT and yes a good bike. Thanks again, really enjoyed this 👍🏍

      @Steve-Clark  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Ian thanks for watching fella, I absolutely loved my Pan and had it for 12yrs and rode 40,000 very happy miles on her but it got to the stage where I was struggling to move it about manually as it became to heavy for me. So I have changed to the BMW as believe it or not its 11 stone lighter than the Pan and thats the only reason or would still be riding the ST1300 great bike and sadly missed.

      Ahhhhh, I wondered what the reference for miggies was, when I said scratching, I meant going for it on the bike, my focus for my trip was to blast my way from campsite to campsite. I was on my ZRX1200R, not a particularly quick bike but fun can be had below 3 figure speeds and it handles well for its weight.
