The kind of sound I am trying to capture on my new album.... it'll be called "Tornado", as I literally want it to sound like a tornado tearing apart the entire city, while I watch in bliss as it beautifully destroys my entire world
Kevin & Bilinda stayed at my house after a gig in the summer of 1987. 'Isn't Anything' was released in 88 I think, then the 'Loveless' masterpiece in 91. I remember them as very interesting and down to earth people without any pretensions. MBV, Nick Drake, Cocteau Twins, Caravan, amongst others, have been the soundtrack of my life.............
This is the most beautiful and timeless piece i have ever heard. It can perfectly suite every existent and not existent emotion, sentiment, and experience. Listening to this song is like seeing and feeling every moment of my life that has and will happen at the exact same time, creating a total sense of bliss. I can't even describe how much this band has changed my perception of music and life. It has opened me up to so many different things i had never previously experienced. I don't even think i can realize how grateful i am to have discovered this band last year. Long live Kevin Shields.
hi, my name is hope. this is my favourite song and the reason it is is because someone i met a long time ago put it on a playlist that they made me. they're gone now, but this song never fails to make my heart happy and it is so so beautiful. i just want a person to love me, i think i could make people happy but no one seems to take much notice about what i want. i like to write, listen to music 24/7 (especially to mbv) and well i'm not sure what else. so this may seem really stupid and insignificant, but this is how i feel, really feel inside and telling the world seems like the right thing to do at this moment in time. oh yes i also write poetry, kinda struggling with that right now but i'm sure it'll get easier soon. i tell myself that a lot, that eventually everything in my miserable little life will just get better in the bat of an eyelid. hopefully, you can't always rely on fate though.
Hang in there Hope. Im 22 and have wrote poetry since I was 12 and written music since 14. I’ve been a depressed dude my whole life. I’ve felt unlovable since I can remember due to traumatic events in my life. Well, I met my girl when I was 15 bc she dated one of my friends. I didn’t know how he could get someone so unique and beautiful. So I messaged her, decided to delete the history of the message Incase she read it and ignored it so I didn’t feel shame. Well, she responded. And, by our second conversation she was telling me how it felt so easy for her to open up to me when she never did that. Even my friend (her bf at the time) admitted she only ever opened up to me. Well, they broke up. We both had crushes on each other but never said anything. Then just as we get close guess what? My step mom and dad split up so I moved. This year I hearted one of her photos and she messaged me and we fell right back into that safe space and are currently crazy about each other. We see eye to eye on intimacy, sexuality, art, vulnerability, very affectionate, open w our issues, and try to learn as much about each other so our environment is safe and comfortable. No yelling. Just conversations about things that need fixed. There’s 0 jealousy. No trust issues. And, she even told me she thinks about me more than she will admit. Every night I toss and turn thinking about her. And, my heart couldn’t be anymore full. Even tho I don’t know you, I believe you’re capable of finding that love. As cheesy as it is, just don’t give up. Don’t settle. Find who and what makes your heart swell. If you wanna check out this beautiful woman in my life on tiktok her name is serenitys.esthetics. Does a lot of horror fx stuff. I’m sorry for the shameless plug but I’m so proud of her.
I can relate to a lot of what you've said here. I hope you'll find someone who sees your value and appreciates you for who you are, because every good person deserves that. For skills like writing and poetry, time and effort will bring you to where you want to be, but yeah, it's not easy and it can be frustrating as hell to work on something for ages and feel like you're not getting better, but I think that sometimes we improve at things over time without even realizing it. Anyway, those are just my random thoughts... hope you're doing okay
One of their best songs. An incredible grower of a track. It seems meandering at first, but after a long while you realise how tightly constructed it is.
Same. But what a difficult task that'd be, yea? The most I feel I could do is have this song in mind when trying to enhance someone who's wonderful; beautiful; kind. This sounds, maybe negative, but I don't except how I feel about this song to translate with the way I feel about a person, because I can't expect them to be a certain way ever, nor would I want to.
I see, I see. I wasn't saying I would want this song to translate how I feel about a person, but I'd want the happiness and comfort the song gives me from another person, and since I've posted this comment, I actually have found that person :-)
Beautifully Hypnotic! The Guitars Are Blanketed With Sheets of Warmth, As If Each and Every Guitar String Melts Away Right Before The Heat of The Sun. The Strumming of the Guitars Just Burn with Indescribable Passion! It Burns!

listening this in bed last night with a peaking buzz I got from smoking weed early on, it was like I was floating and happily dying, simultaneously. It was a spiritual experience.
This song makes me feel like I’m sinking into an ocean. But the abyss is peaceful. I’m somehow breathing. It’s warm. It’s got such a beautiful sound to it
creekandseminole 2006 or 7. It's the only track that was fully written and recorded in the 2000's for the record. The rest are a mashup of old material with altered parts and stuff from the 90's. I've always found it odd that it sounds more 'lovelessy' than the rest of the record too.
Kevin please release the new material... We really need it... It may sound simple or lame but trust me, we need it, this band is our dreams, soul and heart... Please

Loveless has become one of my top three albums of all time. I don't like it, I LOVE it. And if it's torture, then why the hell are you even here debating this?
I saw MBV on the Loveless tour. First time I went sober and I was like...hmmm...interesting but I don't get it. Next time I decided to drop 2 tabs and was absolutely blown away. Best concert I'have ever seen live. This music is meant to be heard while under the influence of "good things". In fact, it was made for it. That said, this is a great opener to a brilliant album and you can see Kevin's house influence as the album progresses. True genius that one.
I can't believe it! It's fantastic! How many more great music you could have given us while we were all getting old.. I was 18 when Loveless came out! Anyway great to hear you again!

Glad to hear they return to the scene.... I have been waited just to get them. So long time after loveless... over 20 years. As far as I know, no other artists could overcome their great contribution to music.
Absolutely beautiful. So glad this has finally arrived. Fantastic album. Over christmas I actually had the honour of working with Kevin in an Irish studio. Amazing experience. He ended up producing 6 of my songs, 3 of which are on my channel, couldn't have asked for a better christmas present! I've tried not to tell many people, but since this came out its just been too difficult aha. x
this is my first time listening to a MBV song. ever. i discovered this when searching for new bands. this album caught my attention from all of the critical acclaim it had/has. its pretty good, do all MBV songs sound like this?

We don’t need science we have emotion
