- To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune Series, the Development Team announced the new version titled "Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 6RR Plus" on October 22 2023 last week.
A lot of new features and information is revealed during the announcement and this video is going through them in just 4 minutes.

IMPORTANT NOTES / CORRECTIONS
[Feature 2] As pointed out by a commenter, Mr Yakata has actually confirmed the final list of 6 event cars that will be made available from start in the livestream. The list is the same as the one in the video.
[Feature 3] The slight physics change will affect handling and power to a mild extent starting from 600HP. The effects of weight and power is felt at low gears and high HP.
It is not a major change to the game, it gives the car the "shaky movement" seen in another Namco racer "Dead Heat".
[Feature 4] Its unclear whether new aero kits will be added to the DU parts list of some cars or replace existing ones for those cars.
[Feature 4.55] Titles earned in 6RR can be carried over to the new 6RR+ version.
- Forgot to add to the video due to oversight, sorry for the inconvenience.
[Feature 7] The cut of the song I theorized to be the new 6RR+ entry theme is actually the OFFICIAL THEME as it was played throughout the livestream. The song was released on the internet shortly after the announcement but no clean audio exists as of now.

since maximum tune 4 they havent came to england again why?
@@stuarthough8440 I believe it has to do with the struggle of making the game's online functionality possible in the UK and Latin America.
To add to this, there was an old FB post by producers about bringing WMMT4 to UK cities. But no follow-up happened and it remained as a relic of old times. I have it posted on my YT channel posts.

So if WMMT6RR+ is releasing exclusive for the Japanese/Asian market in 2024, then there is a slight chance that WMMT6, under the name Maximum Tune 6, can release in America, just like how Maximum Tune 5DX+ released for the American market in 2022 as WMMT6RR released for the Asian market in 2021.
It could be a possibility. But issue is China and North America doesn't receive a lot of game support compared to Asia/Oceania and Japan. Let's wait until the Dev Team makes an official announcement.
Was any WMMT game ever officially released in Europe? A friend of mine has been to Helsinki, Finland few days ago and he spotted a WMMT6RR cabinet in a local arcade.

the only reason why 5dx+ was released was because it was the last version that ran on the old es1 hardware
i doubt 6 and up will release anytime soon unless they release the hardware upgrade for the US

I see now. Found out the full theme of Entry Maxi 6RR+ is circulating around TH-cam and Twitter. They're released shortly after the initial announcement and I forgot to correct the details that it is the OFFICIAL Entry Theme.

All player must transfer to WMMT6RR first before transfer to WMMT6RR+, otherwise the data will be lost completely.
The Japanese JAEPO event confirm several key point:
It will be run under Event Mode with 4-player match
You can't use your own Bandai Namco Passport during the event
Only Fairzady Z Version ST(RZ34) can be used, but are allow to choose any horsepower to play
Thank you for the update video first off. Second, All American players are delusional if they seriously want MT6 at all. From 5 to 5dx+ is a huge update compared to all of 6 to 6rr+. New cars doesnt make me want a more grindy money taking game or terrible physics or playing through 100 stories. Nothing of this should not make any US player want 6. It adds nothing more worth value and i hope we stay with 5dx+ for a long time.

Damn once this was released, I now have to move my banapass data from 6RR to 6RR+.
Really rooting for swift release like 6RR did before. Its a matured system and no hard reason not to release early. (maybe if depends on updates, esp new physic program data amount)
If JPN gets this early half of 2024 is as early from march till june, most likely we get this the earliest is 4 months after JPN or up to 6 months from JPN release

I hope the Maximum Tune cabinets here in Indonesia will be updated to 6RR+ from 6RR

They need to have the same game worldwide and host another tournament. Really could be a missed opportunity for bandai namco
Integrating all servers is impossible due to licensing, allocation of game support and consumer law (for China) issues.
Namco will host a National Tournament as stated in video and initial announcement. There's no news of a World Championship as of now.
Does this possibly nean that American playes will be able to use the Navi App if we do so happen to get 6rr+ ? Id just really like to get a bunch of nameplates and meters
No, NA/China getting 6RR+ is not confirmed. This news is for Japan server & Asia/Oceania will receive information in future.

I wouldn't raise my hopes for that one. Since its Namco here, chances are they won't add DU for them.

If the full tune card saved from WMMT6 to 6RR are to be carried over then 6RR to 6RR+ should carry over with no problem 🤔
Unfortunately, you won't be able to hold on to your FT Tickets once the next version releases. Before 6RR dropped, FT Tickets was on the list of nontransferable items.

The physics only cover lower gear acceleration? If it also covers car handling... My 964 would probably behave differently onwards😮
It covers handling and power with addition of weight and response. The effects can be sensed at low gear acceleration & when picking higher HP.
Besides weight & power response, the physics change is minor & it gives the cars shaky movement during gameplay (similar to Deadheat).

i can tell that this is the last game in the 6 series and WMMT 7 will release after 6RR+ becaause for the colour of the 5DX+ logo, the colour is gold. WMMT 6 came after the release of 5DX+ 2 years prior and the same thing will happen now because the 6RR+ logo is gold so the colour of the logo gives it away.
"+" is actually the sign of being the end of said series. Turning logo into gold isn't really the reason lmao.
What is Bamco actually hiding from us? If the liveries / body stickers aren't coming back due to license issue, JUST SPEAK IT OUT FFS.
I mean really, they're bringing back straight neons but not the stickers? The reason for stickers removal is still unclear to this day.
@@djtroopersmy sticker fix for WMMT is also another mobile game from Namco-Bandai which is Drift Spirits... they have some of the stickers from the old WMMT games and even more customizable stickers that you can make a custom livery but on a certain customizable car but the rest have their own make sticker
At least I could slap a full CF body colour on a customizable RZ34 in Drift Spirits unlike in WMMT🙃
What licensing issues? If it's manufacturer related, I think an alternative would be some generic designs and some Ridge Racer-esque liveries (maybe some straight references)
@@ArbitraryOutcome Probs manufacturer related considering the Nismo, Ralliart, TRD stickers for some models.
But yeah Namco could've just removed those and made custom generic stickers or ones similar to Ridge Racer in their place. But all of them were removed in 6.

If only they added back the old configurations for Shibuya Ikebukuro and the Fukutoshin long map for TA
Interesting what-if. Fukutoshin and old Ikebukuro are forgotten maps that only appeared in MT5 JPN. Fukutoshin has unique branching points to other parts of the long map too!

Yes you can transfer your data to next ver (6RR+ e.g.) on terminal. You can use that same card on both 6RR+ cab and terminal once transfer is done.
How do i host a touranment or even in the new one? Would i need to talk to the venue manager?
You need talk to venue manager first. If accepted, they'll change settings by turning event mode on depending on format (FFA/2v2s).
Not only that, there's other work to do such as player registration, event structure, arranging time schedule, reservation of cabs & covering the costs of all of it as you're working with the venue to host a tournament.

Home release of newest versions would be cool, but WMMT is an arcade exclusive. Closest you can get to playing it is emulation.

- Consecutive win streak in Story Mode

To be honest, WMMT6RR+ to NA won't happen anytime soon. Best case scenario is you guys getting Vanilla 6 long after JPN & Asia receives the latest official update.

Yes, discard vehicle cards and full tune build tickets are transferable.
Will my WMMT6RR banapassport share progress with WMMT6RRPlus
No, once you transfer 6RR to 6RR+, the currentprogress up to any point is carried over.
But when using old data on 6RR, it remains but any new progress on it cannot be updated to next version.

Hmmm i kinda bet that wmmt6rr+ would run under windows 11 ltsc because next year Microsoft will Realese ltsc version for windows 11 and wmmt6rr last year they run windows 10 ltsc so
??? Well since 6RR+ is just a version upgrade for 6 series, not much would change. Perhaps a major hardware upgrade would happen when 7 releases in long future.

Why china and NA still in 5dxplus they need to get the 6rr
Separate servers, lack of game support, & local communities' reluctance to demand the new update because versions that came after 5DX+ Plus were not as good as their current one.

You can use the same banapassport card that has you data transferred from 6RR to 6RR+
Using transferred data on previous version (i.e. 6RR) works but any new progress won't be carried over to new version since initial data transfer carries what was done up to that point.
Means I can transfer data from my card to the new machine?

I think North America (& China) would get MT6 long after Japan & then Asia/Oceania gets 6RR Plus. The idea of all regions getting the latest update is a massive reach.

I already know it won't be too feasible to bring this to North America, but with that said AT LEAST let us get 6 if they're going to drop this.
MT6 to NA & China is possible.
But issues are there's barely any support for NA and China & the community's reluctant to move to next update because versions that came after 5DX+ are disappointing.
@@djtroopers Now when you say barely any support do you mean from Namco or from the players? I think the issue is how expensive a set of four plus the terminal costs arcades, but the few places that I know of that do have it have a small but sizeable crew of regulars.

@@djtroopers That's such a shame Namco doesn't want to support a full global release. They got something golden on their hands and don't realize it, especially if they were to do a full worldwide release in the future.
Cabs are expensive af from what I remember (a set of two plus terminal goes for around $30k from what I was told) but imo are very well worth it if properly maintained.

I doubt they'll do that. Blocking/Brake Blocking is used by majority of Maxi players and adding such mechanics would ruin the game. It would work in early days when clean racing was popular but now? Too late.
@@djtroopers don't you agree its about time they introduce boosts like NOS or drafting ?? its cooler than speed catchup mechanics. it also can punish brake blockers by depleting their boost points when they do those things.
@@nightwing7305 I disagree. I think Namco should adjust the catchup mechanic to curb the possibilities of someone catching up quickly and winning by chance despite crashing too much.

@@nightwing7305 P.s. Your latest suggestions are cool ideas, but I don't think it fits with Wangan. Also I know you're against brake blocking. Its okay to have different preferences, you can enjoy clean race (Go All Out) to same degree as playing other styles.
But IMO brake blocking shouldn't be banned, I think it must remain as a skill/playstyle of choice in Solo battles and a necessary strategy/role for Tag Battles. Like how I think Handicap off should remain in the game as a niche for anyone who prefers an "actual race" despite nobody doing it since the late 2000s.
Me and my friends brake block/block a lot. You can do it without slamming excessively or slamming at all. Just enjoy the game your way and don't be toxic to others. Your call. (Apologies for a long essay).

No official information about it is out atm, so best to wait until Namco discloses more details. IMO it probably won't happen.
Ehh I feel that 6RR+ is pretty rushed, like the dev team is pushing out something half baked for the 20th anniversary of the Wangan Midnight Maxi Tune series.
For the new event cars that will be eventually be added to the car selection in 6RR+, Yakata basically has confirmed in the livestream that:
BMW - M4
Toyota - GR Supra
Mazda - ND hardtop Roadster
Nissan - Leopard and S130
Honda - S2000 (a godsend which players can finally try it out after 6+ years and subsequently devalue the datas that has S2000s in it since it isn't a 'rare' car anymore rofl)
For the aero kits, I'm not really sure if it will be a new addition or they will be replacing the aerokits for the cars, heard some third party info mentioning the aerokits will be replaced with new ones (RX-8 and S15 at the time of the livestream last week)
Also for the 432 orange custom color for the new Z, it's probably a homage tribute to the Z432 and Z432R that has this color.
Thank you for the clarification on the event exclusive cars. IMO the upcoming update is underwhelming for a series commemorating its 20th Anniversary, thought we would get 7 but nope its 6RR Plus.

Not a thing yet. Many in community thought MT7 would be next, instead Namco decided to announce 6RR PLUS.

I'm still waiting for claims from bamco themselves if whether or not the old licensed wheels that were removed are coming back or not. Same goes to the livery, just strange that they brought back the straight neons. I love that they do because the current neons we have look absolutely fucking garbage lmao, too over exaggerated. Old removed license plate covers should really make a return, majority of em were removed for no reason. Probably for dress up space yea but man that sounds utterly idiotic. I don't wanna have too high of a hope and will be waiting for another information
I don't know why they didn't announce return of stickers and other DU parts removed in MT6. But it is the first ever 6RR+ announcement and maybe more info will be disclosed in future. Just have to wait and see.

1:17 Where is the aero kits of the R35 GTR?! Don't tell me they're gonna another useless r35 variant like V spec, nismo, and MY2017, I don't want to see the 2024 model, It's ugly as hell
I don't know why the R50 got DU but the R35 didn't, maybe contract reasons? But all information above is from the official announcement and maybe more is on the way. Best to wait and see.

Sadly DU parts changed with stickers & watanabe wheels removed. Namco has no intention of bringing back stickers atm.
